Lord, we pray for President Bush. We have heard his testimony that Jesus Christ is Lord. We hold him up as Your servant; save him, for You are his God, and he trusts in You. May all wisdom and understanding be his.
Lord, we bring to You our troops, and we ask that You would show them Your goodness. Equip them for the battle they fight, and guard them in all their ways. We praise You, Father, for all the success You have granted them, and ask that You would give them lasting victory.
We pray for our country, Father. We ask for godly leaders, and for godly people. Our prayers are with Your people, wherever they are; may our lives be songs of praise to You.
Father, we pray for Senator McCain and Governor Palin. May Your hand be with them as they go through the campaign. Be with their families.
Lord, we thank You for the privilege of prayer; we thank You for the work of Your Son. We praise You that You are our God - holy, full of grace, abounding in love. You are sovereign, King of kings and Lord of lords; our God is an awesome God. To You we give praise and glory, to the One above all. In the powerful Name of Jesus our Lord we pray all these things, Amen.
A call to prayer.
My sincerest prayers as always.
Prayers up for our courageous President — a man dedicated to doing what’s right regardless the political consequences!
I join in prayer for President Bush, the Administration, McCain, Palin and our heroes standing in harm’s way!

Just days before his death, Gandhi wrote, All about me is darkness; I am praying for light. By contrast, evangelist D. L. Moodys last recorded words were, This is my triumph; this my coronation day! It is glorious! In both cases, their last words were significant expressions of their perspectives on life, death, and everything in between.
Aside from some personal greetings, Pauls last recorded words dealt not with what he had done in life and ministry but rather with how he viewed people. What makes it even more significant is that some of those words were about people who had disappointed him.
Regarding an individual who had harmed him by opposing his ministry, Paul trusted the Lord to deal with him. And when considering those who had abandoned him when imprisoned, he asked others to handle them graciously: At my first defense no one stood with me, but all forsook me. May it not be charged against them (2 Tim. 4:16). His last words were those of compassion and kindness instead of harshness and retaliation.
Will our last words show the grace of Christ or the bitterness of a wounded heart? Our answer should impact the words we use today.
Beautiful Psalm.
Praying your beautiful prayer with you.
Amen
AMEN AND GRACE TO ALL CHRISTIAN PATRIOTS!
“Lead me, O Lord, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies.”
- Psalms 5:8
Very bitter is the enmity of the world against the people of Christ. Men
will forgive a thousand faults in others, but they will magnify the most
trivial offence in the followers of Jesus. Instead of vainly regretting
this, let us turn it to account, and since so many are watching for our
halting, let this be a special motive for walking very carefully before
God. If we live carelessly, the lynx-eyed world will soon see it, and with
its hundred tongues, it will spread the story, exaggerated and emblazoned
by the zeal of slander. They will shout triumphantly. “Aha! So would we
have it! See how these Christians act! They are hypocrites to a man.” Thus
will much damage be done to the cause of Christ, and much insult offered
to his name. The cross of Christ is in itself an offence to the world; let
us take heed that we add no offence of our own. It is “to the Jews a
stumblingblock”: let us mind that we put no stumblingblocks where there
are enough already. “To the Greeks it is foolishness”: let us not add our
folly to give point to the scorn with which the worldly-wise deride the
gospel. How jealous should we be of ourselves! How rigid with our
consciences! In the presence of adversaries who will misrepresent our best
deeds, and impugn our motives where they cannot censure our actions, how
circumspect should we be! Pilgrims travel as suspected persons through
Vanity Fair. Not only are we under surveillance, but there are more spies
than we know of.
The espionage is everywhere, at home and abroad.
If we fall into the enemies’ hands we may sooner expect generosity from a
wolf, or mercy from a fiend, than anything like patience with our
infirmities from men who spice their infidelity towards God with scandals
against his people.
O Lord, lead us ever, lest our enemies trip us up!

And let the God of my Salvation be Exalted.' (Ps.18:46)
