WASHINGTON–A conservative columnist who welcomed Sarah Palin's entry in national politics says she's proven to be a dud and should step aside as Republican presidential candidate John McCain's running mate.
Kathleen Parker, writing in the National Review Online, says her "cringe reflex is exhausted" after watching the Alaska governor stumble through TV interviews and it's become clear to her that Palin is out of her league.

ROTFLMAO!
That’s funny. (They wish)
Parker is getting her 15 minutes of fame. Hopefully she’ll disappear from the public eye after that ... maybe go off and write a book that no one will ever read
Parker just jumped the shark.
Anything she says from this point forward can safely be dismissed as the ravings of a lunatic.
“CONSERVATIVE”?? Must be a socialist Democrat MOLE!
Ms. Kathleen Parker thinks Sarah Palin is outmatched..hmmmm...I am supposed to believe little Kathleen is conservative because f’ing AP says so? Bullshit.
Kathleen Parker is wrong. Did she want her 15 of fame like W’s former press secretary? Looks like she has it.
Kathleen, Kathlenn, Kathleen. Now you run along and play and let this race unfold. Gov. will do just fine. Of course she is nervous. Look what the press has done to her. Can you not say this is a pile-on?
Another Canadian IDIOT so called journalist.
Gee does Kathleen Parker want to blow the election? Can you imagine the reaction if Palin were dropped from the ticket? The same uproar that we all thought would happen if Joe Biden were replaced by Obama would happen if Palin were replaced. All the questions about the judgement of picking her in the first place, plus how excited the base will, or won’t be, excited about any replacement will dominate the news cycle for a week. With only five weeks to go, you can’t realistically replace your running mate.
LOL, I’m sure this simple pantload Parker didn’t MEAN to hand the scumbags at AP this headline.
The only time any conservative is given credence by the MSM is after he/she jumps the shark.
And it's the conservative base that supplies the volunteers that McCain needs. Giving the conservative base a reason to ALL go to the polls in November will do more to ensure victory than anything else.
McCain/Palin will have 270 electorals by 600pm on election day..
Can anyone recall the last time the AP made a news story out of the opinion of one mid-tier columnist?
MEOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
Media Expoitation of A Real Woman
This is another clinical case of an
aging female writer disabled through jealousy
of a REAL journalist, Governor Palin. She
reads CBS’ faked transcripts and goes
out on a delirious limb, revealing the emptiness of herself.
“Parker is getting her 15 minutes of fame. Hopefully shell disappear from the public eye after that ... maybe go off and write a book that no one will ever read...”
Yes. She and Nancy Pelosi could form a book club, then they’d both each sell a book:)
Parker is an idiot. Palin out, means Mccain dont have a chance, Nov4. Alot of Republicans won’t vote for Mccain without Palin.
Shove it, katie. Give me a frickin' break. Compare if you dare the softball interviews and the way the msm has handled the magical negro to the way they have blasted Governor Palin. Sufferin' cats, lady, pull your head outta the mud.
Her piece from yesterday:

Today's news is that Parker was scammed by seeing a heavily edited version of the interview (Couric’s direct involvement) that was designed to discredit Govenor Palin.
After Gibson/ABC scam, why hasn't the GOP figured this out and provided a crew to film and audio every interview as a backup?
Nazi propagandist Goebbels and other great propagandists in history would be proud of the work done by Katy Couric and CBS. Perky has become very very dark.
Hey,Kathleen...watch it. Sarah’s a good enough multitasker that she can bring home the bacon after hunting it down and field dressing it,fry it up in the pan with a baby on her hip, be an outstanding VP AND whip your a$$ all at the same time and look gorgeous doing it!
w-what’s that....? HUH! I didn’t think so!!!
I find many of National Review Online’s writers to be complete duds. They have a neocon agenda with liberal tradeoffs which I feel is the last thing we need right now.
If they had their way, JulieAnnie would be the nominee.
Just an observation, so please don't shoot the messenger. I like her. I think she's got a good deal to learn about the details of national policy, but that's not a fatal flaw for a 1st-time VP.
“With only five weeks to go, you cant realistically replace your running mate”.
...BO might.

Jealousy, thy name is Woman, or more specifically, Kathleen.
If Sarah is having some difficulties in her interviews, FIRST, let’s realize that she’s sitting across from people who are DISPLAYING OPEN CONTEMPT FOR HER. Ever try to be interviewed by someone who shows no respect, isn’t even trying to be cordial.
Second, the McCain SHOULD have prepared her better. Or just taken the stance, ‘we’re not going to sit her down with the drive-by because they are biased.’
I can flat out guarantee you, the only people who would scream about it are the MSM and the lefties. We supporters could care less that CBS gets to interview her. All it did was give them more to use to make fun of her.
We like GOVERNOR PALIN precisely because she isn’t one of them, that same WASHINGTON CROWD that Miss Kathie is part of.
"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." - Manuel II Palelologus
I would say you are wrong on this point. People do not in general vote VP.
If you are correct, she is bringing more people to JM than she would be losing.
Palin has energized the conservative base. Candidates who draw crowds in tens of thousands are not driving people away.
As well as the space bong, Demerol and Quaaludes.
Whhhheeeeeeeeeewww.
This is bulletin board material for SP.
She needs to use this to her advantage.
Methinks the democrats doth protest too much.
“Palin will pave the road for Obama. She makes me cringe every time she is interviewed. The debate will expose her once and for all as the dumbest move by the stupid party in recent history. Bookmark it.”
In your dreams. She did fine in her interviews. The liberals were hoping and looking for a mistake, but the best they could come up with were duds (i.e., what was the Bush foreign terror policy, etc.). She is a winner and will win this election for McCain.
The SeeBS and abc editors won’t be able to do a hatchet job on Governor Palin during the debates. Let’s wait and see. What we saw with Couric and Gibson is what the Obama supporters at abc and SeeBS wanted us to see.
Oh sure, haven't you read any of the AP articles that run daily on the hundreds of Web postings and comments by political pundints saying Biden will be replaced by Hillary due to his gaff-a-minute and his 180% difference with Obama over several key issues?
What's that you missed them, er hold on let me find them I'm sure I remember reading these stories under the AP byline.....
I made the mistake of perusing a People Magazine in a medical office. I was reading the movie/media reviews, and they announced the upcoming televised VP debate by saying that “the Tina Fey look alike” was going to be debating the “Senator from Delaware”. Good grief...no bias there.
I read this mostly as Parker being in business for herself. The idea for a columnist is to be noticed and talked about. Well, an article like this will do it for her.
A while back we had Peggy Noonan do a post mortem on one of Dubya’s speeches and she gave him a hard time. That’s a similar dynamic, I think - now and then she has to go in business for herself and be talked about.
In Noonan’s case it worked, she had a media buzz for about a week. Parker will get a similar treatment.
I've seen the Alaskan debates for gov, in which she was quite good. Admittedly she knew her subject matter..
let the chips fall where they may.
“...Palin is definitely turning off some people who might otherwise be tempted to vote for McCain.”
No candidate will turn every one on. For every person she turns off on the “east coast”, she will pick up 10 everywhere else that would not have voted for McCain. She nets a lot more than she loses. I have been around politics a very long time, and I have not seen a candidate that has energized people like this since Reagan. She is a winner.
Very Possible but the MSM won't report that as fact till after Wednesday or Thursday.
I hope Drudge reports results this time.
hi and welcome.
Just what questions about her, specifically, are you referring to?
The press will never bury Palin.By the way-great first post/not.
