Former President Clinton continues to provide lukewarm support for Sen. Barack Obama. In television appearances this week, Mr. Clinton endorsed Mr. Obama but made favorable statements regarding Sen. John McCain, and Gov. Sarah Paline and her husband, Todd. This contrasts with the criticism other Democrats have leveled against their Republican opponents.
On "The View," Mr. Clinton said it is not necessary to demonize an opponent in an election campaign. When asked if it made sense for former Hillary Rodham Clinton supporters to vote for Mrs. Palin, Mr. Clinton said: "Voting is a complicated process." He praised Mr. McCain for helping his administration normalize relations with Vietnam. He also said Americans admire Mr. McCain "for good and sufficient reasons" and "he has given something in life the rest of us can't match." Despite the many opportunities the hosts presented, Mr. Clinton did not seize the opportunity to steer voters away from the Republican ticket.
The same pattern was apparent in his interview with "On the Record with Greta van Sustern." Mr. Clinton said that he much preferred Mr. Obama's economic and foreign-policy positions, yet he had glowing words for Mr. McCain: "As you know, I've made it my admiration for him quite clear. I like him. I admire him." He also said Mr. Palin is "an interesting guy," and that he admired Mr. Palin's perseverance in competing in 500-mile snowmobile races, even with a broken arm: "You know, I like people that don't quit and are tough in the face of adversity."He even praised the Palin marriage: "But, they obviously love each other, and it looks to me like they've got a pretty good relationship."
On "Larry King Live," Mr. Clinton said that Mrs. Palin is "appealing" and that she and her family are "gutsy, spirited and real."

You’re right, Hillary’s only chance at 2012 ( which is her last chance) is a McCain win.
But you never know with Bill. He could be sweet-talking now and setting us all up for an attack in another 2 or 3 wks.
I just got a message from an old friend this morning. She is a Hillary supporter. Never voted Republican. But she sent me a message to say that she is 100% behind McCain this time around. She too figures that Hillary will run again for 2012.
There is a lot of resentment for Obama and the way he ran his primary. I think the Dem vote is more split than the polls show.
Yep, lukewarm as in a bucket of spit.
Clinton: (Puts arm around Obama's shoulder)
Hey, Barack, ol' buddy, I did what I could for you.
Tough loss, not that I'd know about losing an election. Go back to the Senate and carry on your tradition of being there and voting present.
Clintons are holding their powder until after the election. If Barry loses, there will be a purge of those who turncoated Hillary. Dean, Reid and Pelosi’s days will be numbered.
Actually, I think the same thing will occur if Barry wins.

I think the polls are being tampered with, so that the ABC,NBC,CBS networks can keep smiling about their unwavering support for Nobama. I think the votes that they don’t like are being discarded and only the votes they want are being used, with enough others to make it look like a real poll.
I have also considered the very real possibility that with the heavy overage of Democrats being even polled in the first place-they are polling off the voter registration rolls- that there might be a great number of Democrats that are very leary of Nobama, but won’t say that to a pollster.
For someone who knows first hand the threats America faces, who still has a “legacy” to protect, who knows that his own grandchildren and great-grandchildren will be inheritors of the kind of America the next President leaves, the former President likely will mark his vote privately for the person least likely to do harm to his own self-interest. He is a reflective man and probably knows more than most about McCain’s opponent’s philosophy and weaknesses and how they might play out in a presidency.
I think Clinton will be cranking up the sabotage strategy 10X. It is going to be interesting to see this one happen.
Bill might be Republicans best friend after this is all said and done. Wouldn’t that be ironic?
