Barack was the very junior senator on the defensive the entire evening.
After John McCain eloquently (and without notes) discussed the bracelet he wears given to him by the mom of a dead Iraq war vet.
Trying to prove his own support for the troops, Obama chimed in with a pathetic "I've got a bracelet, too," as he looked down at his notes to read the name of the soldier.
Ya, I notice that too. He didn’t know the name of the soldier off the top of his head, and it was so obvious he had to look it up.
Oh yeah. Bambi’s gettin’ schooled!!
I know! What a baby!
Oh yeah. Bambi’s gettin’ schooled!!
The debate started slow. I was a little worried McCain was not going to go on the offensive. After a half hour McCain turned in to a freaking pit bull. He is scoring points left and right. Obama is on the defensive and sounding amazingly naive.
I went to a high school football game. Who won and why? By win, I mean convinced the ignorant undecided 10% still persuadable voters?
He’s clearly a moron and that’s one of his good points.
McCain has managed to bring out Obamma’s youth and inexperience. BO is NOT presidential material.
He really should have waited his turn until 2012 or beyond.
Why does the DNC keep running further leftists each election?
Gore to Kerry to Obama.
At this rate we are going to keep the White House and regain Congress in 2010.
They better watch it... I’ve copyrighted the phrase, “I’ve got a bracelet too”
Where’s a good lawyer when you need one?
What a dork!
What a dork!
You’re absolutely correct!! 0sama 0bama didn’t even know the soldier’s name! I doubt that he has looked at it since he was given it.
No major gaffes by bambi, but McCain gives the impression of a seasoned and accomplished giant and Obama gives the impression of an empty defensive talking point.
Obama on defense the whole time.
Not a good night for Obama.
McCain looked like a seasoned statesman.
Puhleeze, we’re getting our ass kicked. Osama, er...Obama is far better coached. We’re doomed!
Just heard Obama say something to the effect that HE informed the current administration about Russian peacekeepers in South Ossetia. HA-HA. I’m sure Bush hadn’t heard about this from ANY of his intelligence services until Barry called.
Not only do I have a bracelet too, but I stood up for Chuck. Can I be President?
Puhleeze, we’re getting our ass kicked. Osama, er...Obama is far better coached. We’re doomed!
It’s hard to think of others when you’re obsessed with self.
I'm so livid at him I can't see straight. He used the bracelet of a deceased Veteran, whose name he couldn't even remember to bolster himself? What a...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I couldn’t bear to watch the whole thing because Hussein makes me want to damage my television.
Every time I checked in, he was saying, “Senator McCain is absolutely right.”

I'm circulating this around. Hope I don't need to pay you royalty fees!
Obama is too scripted and is blatantly lying about his record, especially on the finance section. I’m watching on CNN and they have a audience reaction bar. Surprise, surprise... it is breaking down largely along party lines. People see what they want to see.
Are you really Lance Armstrong? - c’mon, admit it! Also - Sheryl Crow - huh?
Mega-dittoes! Nice work.
This will go down as Obama’s “I’ve got a bracelet, too” debate.
Agree with your assessment.
McCain is also very knowledgeable about the intricacies of world politics much better than I have heard any politician in some time.
With Obama, he just keeps coming back to Bin Laden as though he is the only threat we face.
So far, I’m hoping Mrs. Palin will be able to bring us back to even. Osama...er...Obama is doing quite well I’m terrified to say! Yikes!
“Puhleeze, were getting our ass kicked. Osama, er...Obama is far better coached. Were doomed”!
...you’ve obviously never debated.
Makes me wonder whether 0bama’s team didn’t somehow have a look at McCain’s debate material.
Did obama say shining beacon on a hill?
I wish I could think of a specific example, but several times, I heard a conservative answer and it was coming from the 0. Is he trying to appear less liberal? Did anyone else think this or did I make it up?
Summary: “Uh, Sorry Jim, but I have to butt in again.”
are you watching the debate?
You’re obviously underestimating the stupidity of the American sheeple. I hope you’re right...but I’m pooping my pants right now!
I’m curious, have you been listening or watching? I have been watching and I don’t feel good about how McCain did. Lehrer says they both got the same amount of time, but i feel like it has been all Obama. Sickening.
You’re obviously underestimating the stupidity of the American sheeple. I hope you’re right...but I’m pooping my pants right now!
Pay up, pup!
And that’s a good one, by the way...
Yes I too noticed that he stumbled on the name and had to look at his notes. Was anyone else p*ssed about him talking over McCain so often? I thought it showed him very rude and impatient.
You were at the game. You tell us.
I don't have the resources to pull this off, but someone has GOT to put together this montage:
"We can't do it."
"Yes, we can!"
"We can't do it."
"Yes, we can!"
McCain’s got dogtags and Obama has an anklet.
What about the Zero’s hairdo? Did anyone else notice? It distracted me by making me laugh out loud.
Yeah, that was a rather weak moment, but I gotta say.... McCain should not have brought it up if he didn't have that bracelet on his wrist.
After BHO said his "I've got a bracelet too" thing, I was truly waiting for McCain to pull his sleave up and follow with: "But, I'm wearing mine"
No such luck... he's ours and we're stuck with the man, but we truly picked the wrong man for our nominee. This is quite possibly the most boring debate I've ever witnessed, blah, blah, blah..... same things we've heard from the both of them all along, nothing new, no bold gigs, no mention of BHO's 'friends'...
Johnny should have stayed in Washington working on the bail out and sent Sarah to this debate.
Lance? Nah... maybe Stretch Armstrong.
I don’t have what it takes to be Sheryl...
Yep, that is how I was seeing it. It was disgusting. Obama got to “set the record state” and have the last word almost every instance. I was watching and not listening.
I’ve been wondering that, too. Clintoon was, at least, minimally towards the center. Gore was left of him and came close to winning but didn’t, Kerry was further left and lost by more. Obamy is even further left and will probably lose in a landslide.
That was lame.
The last part where Obama was talking about how America is not looked as a great country as we used to be pissed me off.
This jerk always puts America down, he can get bent!
Obama stutters a lot.
