WASHINGTON - The cable network MSNBC on Friday stopped airing a commercial by two liberal groups that makes an issue of John McCain's past bouts with skin cancer and demands that he release his medical records to the public.
"The ad had not been thoroughly vetted prior to air, and has since been removed from our commercial rotation," NBC spokeswoman Allison Gollust said in an e-mail. She did not elaborate.
The ad displays black and white close-up images of McCain and the scars related to the removal of melanomas from his face.
A spokesman for one of the groups, Democracy for America, said the cable network notified its ad buyer Friday that it would no longer run the ad.
CNN had already declined to run the ad, but MSNBC ran it several times Thursday evening and Friday morning before the network halted it. The ad cost $50,000 — a small ad purchase by political standards that seemed designed primarily to generate publicity.
The 30-second ad was financed by Democracy for America and Brave New PAC, two liberal political action committees that have already aired another anti-McCain ad. Democracy for America is headed by James Dean, the brother of Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean.
"John McCain is 72 years old and had cancer four times," the ad's text says. "Why won't McCain release his medical records?"

I’m not sure if others saw this add, but it is perhaps the worst most vile add I’ve seen in my lifetime.
It showed McCain’s face from the left side during the full length of the add. It showed post surgery stitching that resembled for the lack of a better example, a scarecrows stitched face. I said it was was vile. I was serious.
During the spot it mentioned that McCain has had cancer four times, and his mortality was certain to be in question.
MSNBC revealed it’s true colors by airing this add. MSNBC is quite simply an illegitimate enterprise, trying to pass itself off as a news outlet. It is a propaganda machine that would do the old Pravda proud.
It’s truly a national disgrace, and beyond.
I think we all know that already. MSNBC is nothing more than a shill for Nobama.
I recorded it the other night, hoping to post it. Then I cleaned out my DVR, and lost it. They got the mileage they wanted out of it. What jerks!

It was a disgrace, the only thing that script lacked was a line that said, “We are hoping McCain will just go ahead and die so we can begin planning BO’s coronation.” What kind of people are those any way? As my father said, “Have they no decency?” And my short answer: No.

The personal information on the two “doctors” in the ad need to be plastered all over the internet. Let’s see how many cases they testified for John Edwards as experts. How many malpractice suits have they faced. Where they live. What were they paid. Did they violate medical ethics.

Since probably 99.9% of the people who watch PMSNBC are — like just about everyone associated with the cable channel — in the tank for Obambi, hate Bush/Cheney et al, and whine about McCain and Palin (especially Palin!) and will NEVER vote for them, then why on earth would the lame Obambi campaign run anti-McCain ads, no matter what the topic? But yes: even by the standards of PMSNBC (i.e. none when it comes to trashing Republicans) running this ad is an abomination.

I went to a bachelor party for a couple hours tonight before the debate. I was talking with a friend of mine who is a Democrat and a Vet and he was so turned off by that ad that he has changed his mind and will vote for McCain. Thank You Keith.
How many days did it run again? Why did they even put it on in the first place?
One of them, Michael D. Fratkin, is apparently not an oncologist, but rather an emergency room doctor in California. Hope I never need to turn for him for care. I prefer my doctors with a modicum of kindness and common decency.
It was disgusting and should have never been aired. MSNBC is a day late and a dollar short.

So did McCain threaten to prosecute the makers of the ad or the stations that aired them? I am guessing no. It is only 0bama and his ilk who resort to threats and intimidation to silence the stuff they don’t like.
As someone has already pointed out, Zero’s parents died young while McCain’s mom is still going strong at 96. Seems like he has the longevity. I hope if I make it to 72 I can stand and debate for 2 hours against someone 24 years younger.
I seem to recall that McCain has already released about 1000 pages of medical records, as compared to none for 0bama.
Cheer up, the bottom of the barrel is rising up to smack the Obama campaign in the face.
Personally, I am praying that Almighty God himself will arrange the November surprise. He hasn't disappointed me yet.
