Just days before his death, Gandhi wrote, “All about me is darkness; I am praying for light.” By contrast, evangelist D. L. Moody’s last recorded words were, “This is my triumph; this my coronation day! It is glorious!” In both cases, their last words were significant expressions of their perspectives on life, death, and everything in between.

Aside from some personal greetings, Paul’s last recorded words dealt not with what he had done in life and ministry but rather with how he viewed people. What makes it even more significant is that some of those words were about people who had disappointed him.

Regarding an individual who had harmed him by opposing his ministry, Paul trusted the Lord to deal with him. And when considering those who had abandoned him when imprisoned, he asked others to handle them graciously: “At my first defense no one stood with me, but all forsook me. May it not be charged against them” (2 Tim. 4:16). His last words were those of compassion and kindness instead of harshness and retaliation.

Will our last words show the grace of Christ or the bitterness of a wounded heart? Our answer should impact the words we use today.

I’ll share my usual slowly growing catalogue at http://www.emmettgrayson.avenuehifi.com but something else I’d like people to know about is at http://spiritofamericatour.org. That is an outfit a friend of mine is involved with which does free and private shows at bases all over the country ONLY for military and their families. The artists generously contribute their time and talents and the retired businessman who runs it foots all the other bills. I think this is an important thing for us to recognize and important for the troops to know that someone back home is working to give something to their families. Hope some will visit their site as well and learn a bit more about it.

Greetings to all the Freeper Canteeners out there in Freeperland. It's time for the Friday Flyby. Tonight we have an assortment of pictures courtesy of the US Navy. So with out further delay on with the pics.

First up another shot of an F/A-18 doing the sound barrier gig

Our second shot is some quick shooting by the cat crews on the USS George Washington (CVN 73). An EA-6B is followed by an F/A-18F in a near simultaneously launch sequence.

A pair of T-2 Buckeyes fly over Forrest Sherman Field at NAS Pensacola marking the last training flight after fifty years of service by the T-2s.

Another picture from Pensacola showing the T-2's overflying their replacements, the T45A Goshawks.

An E2-C from VAW-115 The Liberty Belles catches the 3 wire while coming aboard the USS George Washington (CVN 73).

To close out this edition of the Friday Flyby I leave you with this picture. The following caption shamelessly lifted from the US Navy website.
An F/A-18F Super Hornet assigned to the "Diamondbacks" of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 102, piloted by Lt. j.g. David Robinson and Lt. Cmdr. Jeremy Andrew, becomes the last aircraft launched the aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63).
