Looks like the markets are waiting to see what happens in Congress. Hardly Black Friday at this point.
Any good deal on PC’s and 50” LCD TV’s?
Oops! wrong Black Friday
Maybe the market is a bit bigger than the media’s attempts to squash it for Obama.
If it looks like no deal by 3:00PM, than look out below.
the cnbc crony speculator paper pushers were saying how the world wants to have faith in the US government and wants this bailout...will they not have more faith in our capitalistic society if we don’t bail out?? I’m so confused...why do the “markets” want socialism?
Markets, though generally supportivee of something, are not as crazy about this Paulson deal as some would have you believe.
You got my earlier ping to the ACORN thread, right?
The details of the liberals REAL plan give perspective, don’t they?
amen brother!
>>What happens if the bottom doesn’t fall out - is it still Black Friday?<<
Then it would not be, and the predictive name of this thread will be in error.
I am pretty confident it will be, though, depending on the news out of DC. If it is looking like those who do not want the bail out are actually gaining power throughout the day, expect this Friday to be very black indeed.
We’ll see. It is more interesting than watching professional sports, partly because it is REAL.
Will the ostrich ever get his head out of the sand.
I doubt it. My guess is what you're seeing right now are the lemmings who heard the bailout deal fell through so they placed after-hours sell orders. My bet: the market will drop like a stone for the first hour, probably touching -200 and then settle down. The days will likely end up down, but no where near -500.
Yes, I’d say it’s more of a Heather Gray. ; )
I’m going fishing this weekend. I’m usually a “catch and release” guy but I may keep some this time as a “hedge”.
nice comment on the professional sports...i’ve never understood humans preoccupation with watching others put a ball in a hoop or across a line..
Nor did I ever imply such as you stated.
>>Looks like the markets are waiting to see what happens in Congress. Hardly Black Friday at this point.<<
Correct. It’s been less than 15 minutes though. ;)
I have little doubt it WILL BE, unless the repubs cave.
The flat line marks yesterday’s close. The moving line below it is today’s activity, against the flat line.
Sorry, can you explain the ACORN connection, please.
Speaking of the Fifth Column...er, Fourth Estate:
MRC/NB's Bozell: Media Covered Enron More This Year than Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac Corruption
Go figure.
>>...ive never understood humans preoccupation with watching others put a ball in a hoop or across a line..<<
Precicely. I love to play sports, but I don’t really like to watch. I could not have dumped television in 1997 if I liked watching others play sports.
