Now we know why David Letterman really wanted John McCain on his show last night. ABC just announced that Nightline beat Letterman again last week and it also topped the Late Show in Total Viewers and the A25-54 demo for the third quarter.
It's the first time in nine years Nightline has outperformed CBS in the demo for the quarter. Nightline comes in second, behind the Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

Letterman is over the hill, down the tube.
About the same appeal as a dried up Kotex!

25 years ago he was must-see late night television.
Today he’s just bitter, old and weird.

Today hes just bitter, old and weird. I wonder if the heart surgery gave him pump head.

Letterman is the Bill Maher of network comedy: Bitter, angry and unfunny.

Yup. Younger people who stumble across the cranky, angry old man Letterman has become on CBS at 11:30 would never guess how funny he and his show were back in the early '80s.

I suppose that explains why he had Keith Olbermann on. If no one’s watching anyway, it doesn’t matter anymore who he invites on the show.

Letterman is going for the MSDNC moonbat crowd.

Letterman always struck my friends as a little puckish. For me, he was always like Al Franken - the guy with a forced smile and evil eyes. Like one of those malevolent Chuckie puppets. Laughing on the outside, but hollow inside.

Littleman thought he was the KING of late night and for him to be dissed was not acceptable to him. His underwear was in a knot and he needed to get that wedgie out. Rather than drink( which we all know he has a long record of,but finally stopped.....well so he says) he chose to use his flatulated chair as a soap box to tell the audience(as small as his...........well his you know what.... how disgracefull it was for a person as measly as a presidential candidate to cop out. ( now if were to be a hollweed star, he'd have made a yoke and moved on to some plan b). Poor Davey, he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth.

Yep. Letterman really overrates himself.
To: John W
Letterman is tired, old, boring, and a real a**hole. His show sucks and his ratings are in the toilet. Other than that, he has a lot going for him.
To: John W
That sorry, miserable wise-ass in his leftist swamp will be left with a few thousand viewers...hopefully.
