Kenya Medical Supplies Agency (Kemsa) Western depot has 19 million condoms, but lacks essential drugs.
Investigation revealed the Kisumu town storage area had not received vaccines, whose shortage would put the lives of newborns in danger.
The depot manager, Mr Geoffrey Alumila, said they had not been given vital vaccines for prevention of polio, tetanus and TB for several months.
"The shortage of vaccines and other drugs in public hospitals is as a result of lack of supply," he said, on Thursday.
However, he said the delivery of condoms has been constant.
"We have 19 million condoms in our stock, which are to be taken to 40 Government hospitals in Nyanza and Western provinces," said Alumila.
He said the region used up between 600,000 to 700,000 condoms per month, and that those in store could sustain it for the next three years.
The vaccines had arrived at the Kemsa headquarters in Nairobi and would be supplied to the depots next week, he said.
Last week, a Parliamentary Committee on Health, Housing and Social Welfare visited the depot and expressed outrage over the acute shortage of drugs.
The team, led by Nyaribari Chache MP Robert Monda, wondered why the Government supplied condoms more efficiently than medicine.

It sounds like the hq staff is selling the drugs on the black market, but there's no market for the condoms, so they get shipped to the local clinics or to storage facilities.
Btw, is there really a vaccine for tuberculosis?

Plenty of helpful NGO’s and AIDS groups so loved in the West are steadily supplying those condoms.
Never mind that if they’d bothered using those overstocked condoms there wouldn’t be the need for so many vaccines and medicines.
Questions for starters - were they used properly and what percent of the population used them? Aids is still rampant and pregnacies are high.
Wonder where Obama’s relative Odinga figures in all this. Since they speak so often doesn’t the “citizen of the world” have helpful suggestions. He seems to know the “perfect, quick fix” for US healthcare or so he says.
