Bismarck, N.D. (AP) Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama's campaign is pulling its staffers out of North Dakota.
Obama has been making a statewide effort to be the first Democratic presidential candidate in 44 years to carry the state.
Obama spokeswoman Amy Brundage says the campaign is sending its staffers from North Dakota to other battleground states.

ONLY 49 more states to go! Keep on pulling them out, Barry!
A good sign that the “50-state strategy” is going down in flames and the race is tightening elsewhere.
Don’t you mean only 56 states to go? :-)
He believes he should move his resources to two of the other 57 states....East and West Dakota.
Good. Hope to see him pull out of all 57.
I guess one must watch their pennies these days.
So much for that “50 State Strategy” that the media has been telling us for FOUR YEARS would GARAUNTEE a Democrat Victory, eh?
I'd like to know just how many they managed to identify...
Bbbbbuut, they said they had a chance in NoDak!
Nah. Only 56 states to go. Just ask Mr. Ivy League Education, himself.
I'll volunteer to make phone calls.
No kiddin'.
Just make sure I get the biggest list ya got..
Just ask Mr. Ivy League Education, himself hisself.
Apparently there weren’t enough like-minded elitists in Fargo.
I think you mean "Just AKS Mr. Ivy League Education, himself hisself.
Maybe he can try South Dakota and get George McGovern to appear with him there... Oh wait, maybe that’s not such a great idea. BHO wouldn’t want the stench of landslidis loseritus to penetrate his campaign of “hope and change”.
lol, LOL!
D.
Suddenly it seems less infanticidal around here.
Add this to his retreat from Georgia and we are starting to see a trend. I believe you will see him exit VA, NC and NV before the end of October. He’ll battle in OH and CO til the end but he will have to divert resources to PA, MI, MN and WI to the point that he is going to lose some place else not currently anticipated (if not in one or more of those blue states).
Also consider that Zero’s fundraising strategy is backfiring and he may not have enough bucks to stay competitive on television. He is committed to his ground game which will be very expensive so he may have to cede the advertising advantage to the pubbies. If Zero does not raise $100 million in September, he is in huge trouble. I hope he spends all of his time fundraising instead of studying all the issues that McCain already knows from spending years in the Senate (it will really show in the debates).
he is an arrogant idiot
MO was in Charlotte and Greensboro this past week. Supposedly he's opened up a couple of new offices in the state also, out in the country. That won't do him any good, but he'll get votes in Raleigh, Charlotte, Greensboro and Ashville for the university crowd and the imports. I'd be pleased to see him exit NC. I think he's getting "traffic" simply on the guilt thing in a lot of quarters.
I’m waiting for the day he pulls his staff from New Pennsylvania. Then we’ll know it’s really over for Emperor Zero.
“Obama supporter Jim Maxson of Minot says the Obama staffers have been working since July on identifying sympathetic North Dakota voters”
Prolly so they can ship them to Ohio.
