John McCain, what's a community organizer ?
Star Ledger ^ | 9/18/2008 | John Atlas

Posted on 09/21/2008 11:23:25 AM PDT by markomalley

For months, I've been leading kind of a single-minded existence, writing a book about the little known and little understood field of community organizing through the lens of ACORN, the largest grass-roots organizing group in the country.

Imagine my amazement when I looked up from my computer screen about two weeks ago and noticed that community organizing had taken center stage in the presidential campaign spats.

Although I could hardly believe my eyes and ears, there were the Republicans' featured speakers at their national convention, lacing into community organizing as a fringy, freaky, suspect, navel-gazing, Sixties-inspired form of self-indulgent radicalism. Or, as Mike Huckabee insinuated, the brainchild of "European ideas."

The GOP has unleashed such a barrage of bogus claims since the convention that you could be forgiven for feeling like the orchestrated series of smears against community organizing in St. Paul has been bypassed by talk of wolves, pit bulls, barracudas, and lipstick on pigs.

But I'm here to tell you why it's imperative that we keep the phony attacks against organizers in the public debate.

McCain's supporters ridiculed Obama's community organizing work. Remember that Sarah Palin, Rudy Giuliani, and George Pataki claim to represent real Americans and to paint Barack Obama as an elitist who held a bogus job called community organizer. In making that equation, they showed ignorance and contempt for the kinds of actions that bind our democracy together and for the everyday people the Republicans claim to represent.

Just this past Sunday on Meet the Press, Giuliani kept up the attack against community organizers saying wrongly that Obama like Saul Alinsky had a philosophy that is"...almost socialist..."

saying wrongly that Obama like Saul Alinsky had a philosophy that is"...almost socialist..."

Interestingly worded. Is he denying Alinsky was a socialist, or is he trying to say that Obama has rejected Alinsky's lead?

According to Wikipedia, " Alinsky ... argued that ... an intermediate end for radicals should be democracy because of its relative ease to work within to achieve other ends of social justice."

IOW, use democracy to destroy democracy. Sound familiar?

..like Saul Alinsky had a philosophy that is"...almost socialist..."

What the hey? This "historian" had devoted precious amounts of life investigating 'community organizers' and he castigates those who spell out the obvious? Talk about rose colored glasses.

Saul Alinsky was an unabashed, nailed to the wall communist. His handbooks and education were devoted to the destruction of republican capitalism and supplanting it with full blown Marxist communism. Of course in a democrat's mind, this is not only mainstream, it is progressive.

A community organizer is a socialist activist who claims to care for the poor and the down trodden, but is really just seeking power. At least that is the case with Barrack Obama.

Obama claims to have empathy with the poor Black people, the street people, the people that dwell in the gov’t projects, but none of these people that he claims to care about have impacted his life style in any way or form. He lives in a mansion, his wife makes $300,000/yr and the Obamas have collected millions of dollars from books that Obama had written about his life. Yet, they give little to nothing back to community that they claim to care so much about.

I’d like to see a McCain ad, using Rev. Wright’s words, decrying the greed of the wealthy white men, then a shot of Obama berating Wall Street fat cats, and then a statement of the amount of money that the Obama’s have donated to the poor, and Obama’s half brother in Africa.

For all the supposed intellectual superiority of Democrats and other left-wing dorks, the cannot understand the simpliest aspect of why ‘community organizer’ was brought up in the first place.

0-bots were saying that Palin was not qualified because all she had been was a mayor of a small town (before being Governor.) Yet, somehow, 0bamas ‘community organizer’ background was presented as a qualification.

The mention of ‘community organizer’ was specific to the listing of it as qualification to be President, not as a slam of the activity itself.

Although, anyone with their eyes open can see that the communities that have ‘community organizers’ are the ones created by the failed social engineering experiments of the left.

“What is a community organizer?”

What I can make out of what I’ve read and heard is that ‘community organizer’ is the wrong term.

Obama started up a non profit funded with government grants and donations (usually by other ‘non-profit scammers). His wife becomes CEO or director..they train big city minorities to scam the US taxpayer learning how to organize and start more ‘non-profits’ and file for government grants.

In other words, it’s just another scam. Sure once in a while they build a ‘gazebo’ or give a scholarship...to a kid to become another ‘organizer’.

Organized crime has nothing on this bait and switch.

Saul Alinsky and the Lessons He Taught Bill and Hillary

News/Current Events Opinion (Published)
Keywords: CLINTON ALINSKY
Author: Rules for Radicals by Saul Alinsky Courtesy the Wanderer
Posted on 03/23/2000 16:22:25 PST by Slyfox

Saul Alinsky wrote two books outlining his organizational principles and strategies: Reveille for Radicals (1946) and Rules for Radicals (1971).

Rules for Radicals opens with a quote about Lucifer, written by Saul Alinsky: “Lest we forget at least an over-the-shoulder acknowledgment to the very first radical: from all our legends, mythology, and history (and who is to know where mythology leaves off and history begins — or which is which), the first radical known to man who rebelled against the establishment and did it so effectively that he at least won his own kingdom — Lucifer.”

In Rules for Radicals, Alinsky says: “Here I propose to present an arrangement of certain facts and general concepts of change, a step toward a science of revolution.” He builds on the tactical principles of Machiavelli: “The Prince was written by Machiavelli for the Haves on how to hold power. Rules for Radicals is written for the Have-nots on how to take it away.”

Rules for Radicals is concerned with the acquisition of power: “my aim here is to suggest how to organize for power: how to get it and how ot use it.” This is not to be done with assistance to the poor, nor even by organizing the poor to demand assistance: “...[E]ven if all the low-income parts of our population were organized ... it would not be powerful enough to get significant, basic, needed changes.”

Alinsky advises the organizer to target the middle class, rather than the poor: “Organization for action will now and in the decade ahead center upon America’s white middle class. That is where the power is.”

Alinsky is interested in the middle class solely for its usefulness: “Our rebels have contemptuously rejected the values and the way of life of the middle class. They have stigmatized it as materialistic, decadent, bourgeois, degenerate, imperialistic, war-mongering, brutalized and corrupt. They are right; but we must begin from where we are if we are to build power for change, and the power and the people are in the middle class majority.”

To accomplish this, Alinsky writes that the organizer must “begin to dissect and examine that way of life [the middle class lifestyle] ... He will know that ‘square’ is no longer to be dismissed as such — instead his own approach must be ‘square’ enough to get the action started.”

[...]

Rules for Radicals stresses organizational power-collecting: “The ego of the organizer is stronger and more monumental than the ego of the leader. The organizer is in a true sense reaching for the highest level for which a man can reach — to create, to be a ‘great creator’, to play God.” Alinsky considered Hillary a terrific “organizer” and wanted her to become his protege. She declined. She had bigger fish to fry. She learned her lessons well. She and Bill have employed Alinsky’s tactics probably better than anyone else.

Obama is the “organizer” = ‘great creator’ - he’s ‘the One’ which is the way they’ve portrayed him from the beginning.

John McCain, what’s a community organizer ?

It’s very simple really. A community organizer is a person who is usually self appointed to look out for others less fortunate than mainstream Americans who work for a living. The most important thing a community organizer does is hound small town mayors (Small towns like Wasilla Alaska)for handouts, freebies and assistance in fleecing everyone they can for whatever they can get in the name of helping the less fortunate. I for one would like to see just one community organizer offer jobs as their handout and see what kind of crowds show up. You guessed it no one would show up. But if you hand out free food, clothing, and household items everyone shows up. Barack Hussein Obama community organizer qualified to be nothing but a community organizer.

The only definition of "community organizer" that is important in this election is what it meant for 0bama to be one. It doesn't really matter what anyone else who has worn that label has done.

Obama's "community organizing" left Chicago neighborhoods in ruins.

Grim proving ground for Obama's housing policy

"About 99 of the units are vacant, many rendered uninhabitable by unfixed problems, such as collapsed roofs and fire damage. Mice scamper through the halls. Battered mailboxes hang open. Sewage backs up into kitchen sinks. In 2006, federal inspectors graded the condition of the complex an 11 on a 100-point scale - a score so bad the buildings now face demolition."

This ACORN election fraud needs to become a primary issue of organized activism on this board. It is not to late to combat the fraud or this marxist will steal the election, taking several other elected seats and propositions and referendums with him. He was a professional vote organizer for years and I bet they have think tanked every fraudulent scenario anyone could possibly dream up to stockpile additional votes.

This is a WAR of epic proportions:
Combatting election fraud is tailor-made for freepers.
This has got to put in the sidebar and a coordinated plan of defense needs to laid out. It is more important than waving signs around and the like. None of that accomplished that much if they technically steal millions of votes nationwide whiile you change a few minds.

Let’s Roll!
