This is a slam at the Times not Palin. They are talking about the media making up stories about Palin.
If ‘the New Yorker’ makes a joke, and liberals don't get it, is it still funny?
If SNL slips in a joke poking fun at media bias and their overreaching on the Sarah Palin nomination, and conservatives don't get it and liberals don't like it, is it still funny?
SATIRE—Irony, sarcasm, or caustic wit used to attack or expose folly, vice, or stupidity.
The folly, vice, and stupidity being attacked with caustic wit in that skit was not Palin’s, it was the MSM’s
“This is a slam at the Times not Palin. They are talking about the media making up stories about Palin.”
That’s how I took the skit - ripping the NYT, not the Palin family.
I agree.. I saw the skit in question and thought it was hillarious and was surprised that SNL would have such a scathing satire of the Times
Exactly. Took 9 posts for someone to get it. Yes, SNL is very unfunny but sometimes they hit one out of the park. The last time was in 1990 when they had reporters asking the President to give minute details of troop movements and strategy as part of a press conference (”Could you tell us exactly when U.S. Marines will land, and maybe geographic coordinates?”).
I agree. It sounds like a blast about media bias and how they try to make a story out of anything that comes to their sick little brains.
Congratulations on being the first to post that this skit was a sarcastic attack on the media, which it certainly was.
It would be hysterical to have Obama at an Alabama (Al’ Obama) football game, trying to make a speech during halftime because he thought the crowd had come to see Him. (A reference to the free rock concerts, pizzas and beer prior to his appearances, which the MSM neglects to mention).
