The Push to ‘Otherize’ Obama [Christians who don't vote for Barry are bigots alert]
New York Times ^ | September 20, 2008 | Nicholas D. Kristof

Posted on 09/21/2008 6:05:34 AM PDT by Zakeet

Here’s a sad monument to the sleaziness of this presidential campaign: Almost one-third of voters “know” that Barack Obama is a Muslim or believe that he could be.

In short, the political campaign to transform Mr. Obama into a Muslim is succeeding. The real loser as that happens isn’t just Mr. Obama, but our entire political process.

A Pew Research Center survey released a few days ago found that only half of Americans correctly know that Mr. Obama is a Christian. Meanwhile, 13 percent of registered voters say that he is a Muslim, compared with 12 percent in June and 10 percent in March.

More ominously, a rising share — now 16 percent — say they aren’t sure about his religion because they’ve heard “different things” about it.

When I’ve traveled around the country, particularly to my childhood home in rural Oregon, I’ve been struck by the number of people who ask something like: That Obama — is he really a Christian? Isn’t he a Muslim or something? Didn’t he take his oath of office on the Koran?

In conservative Christian circles and on Christian radio stations, there are even widespread theories that Mr. Obama just may be the Antichrist. Seriously.

John Green, of the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life, says that about 10 percent of Americans believe we may be in the Book of Revelation’s “end times” and are on the lookout for the Antichrist. A constant barrage of e-mail and broadcasts suggest that Mr. Obama just may be it.

[Snip]

Mr. McCain himself is not popular with evangelicals. But they will vote for him if they think the other guy may be on Satan’s side.

[Snip]

What is happening, I think, is this: religious prejudice is becoming a proxy for racial prejudice.

Journalists need to do more than call the play-by-play this election cycle. We also need to blow the whistle on egregious fouls calculated to undermine the political process (like trying to link Barry to the Rev. Wright) and magnify the ugliest prejudices that our nation has done so much to overcome (like the religious bigotry of voting against someone why you think might be on Satan's side).

He may not be strictly a Muslim, but he's definitely not a Christian either.

And does someone who knows the Shahada - the Muslim confession of faith by heart in Arabic - how much of a Christian is he really? That's as related by what Obama told Kristof!

The problem for Obama isn't that people are concluding that he is Muslim, but rather that after a good look at his church of 20 years, people are concluding that he isn't Christian.

"...Meanwhile, 13 percent of registered voters say that he is a Muslim, compared with 12 percent in June and 10 percent in March..."

By election day it will probably be in the 50% range. The reason is that the cover up is falling apart. obozos life is coming to light, from the statements by his brother and sister acknowledging that obozo was raised as a muslim to the pictures of him in his muzzi costume, to his self stated siding with islam in a confrontation between islam and the west-he's toast!

Simply the reason that the electorate's belief that obozo is a muslim is increasing is that the evidence that proves that he is a muslim is also increasing.

Kristof flashback:

http://select.nytimes.com/2007/03/06/opinion/06kristof.html?_r=2&oref=slogin&oref=slogin

Mr. Obama recalled the opening lines of the Arabic call to prayer, reciting them with a first-rate accent. In a remark that seemed delightfully uncalculated (it’ll give Alabama voters heart attacks), Mr. Obama described the call to prayer as “one of the prettiest sounds on Earth at sunset.”

“Allah is Supreme! Allah is Supreme!
Allah is Supreme! Allah is Supreme!
I witness that there is no god but Allah
I witness that there is no god but Allah
I witness that Muhammad is his prophet... “

Start with the Muslim world... ask any of them if 0bama is a muslim and the vast majority of them will tell you that he is muslim because he was born of a muslim father.
His “outward” actions reveal that he does NOT hold to the teachings of Christ. He supports the killing of unborn children. He was a member of an organization that claimed to be a “Christian Church.” However, it was discovered that this so called Christian Church was a pro-black racist organization that had little to do with the teachings of the historical Jesus of the bible. The Jesus of the bible did not regard the color of a persons skin as a qualification to entering the Kingdom of God.

He may be many things, but he’s not a Christian. He’s probably not an orthodox Muslim, either, but subscribes to that peculiar mix of Islam and black power ideology that floats through the African-American community. This is true even though he’s not even a legitimate part of the “African American community,” but is just hitching his star to it because it has become the favorite prop of the extreme left.

Incidentally, on the website of his “church,” it says - or did say earlier - that Muslims are welcome to attend. Some “church”! The pastor, Wright, is also a former Black Muslim who decided the pickings were better by setting himself up as an independent “church.”

It’s an interesting thing TC, “out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks” and yet we heard Obama on George Stephanopuolis’s show say “My Muslim Faith” and when George S. corrected Obama with “you mean your Christian Faith” Obama did not acknowledge the correction he simply kept on talking.

I find that odd, never really gave much credence to the “Obama is a Muslim” line of thought, outside of Patriarchal Lineage, but that gaffe did sow some additional questions in my thinking about him.

I compare that to this:

http://blog.beliefnet.com/crunchycon/2008/08/the-pow-church-riot.html

“The prisoners had developed a tap code system for communicating through the walls. Through that tapping, “we decided we needed to be all on the same sheet of music at least one time during the week,” Swindle said.

The prisoners decided that every Sunday, after they had eaten their rice, the highest-ranking officer would cough loudly and say the letter ‘c’ for church. The prisoners would then say the Pledge of Allegiance, the Lord’s Prayer and the 23rd Psalm. The psalm was said in plural: “Yea, though we walk through the valley of the shadow of death we will fear no evil.”

From McCain and he seems much more Christian to me then Obama ever could be.

Obama is NOT a Christian. He facilitates the killing of unborn babies.

Babies are not terrorists. They never started a war...so killing them is NOT self-defense.

Additionally, Obama and his 20 year church have more in common with radical Islam than not. They hate Whites, Christians, Catholics, and Jews.

Obama supported Odinga in Kenya. Odinga lost the presidential election but Obama was instrumental in getting Odinga the Prime Minister post. Odinga signed an agreement with radical Islam before the election. When he lost the election 1000 Christians were killed and their churches were burned in the radical Islamic violence.

So, do any of you lurkers want this scene played out in the USA? If so, then that maggot Obama is your guy and the blood will be on your hands.

End...

I think some of this Muslim stuff is dumb and over the top. On the other hand, has Barack Obama ever gone on record saying that he believes Jesus Christ is the Son of God and is his personal saviour? A true Muslim could never say such a thing, even as taqqiyah; it would be apostasy punishable by death. A true Christian would have no troubls shouting it from the rooftops. Obama can talk a good game and quote Scripture all he wants; but only in the secular world of the New York Times is he anywhere close to convincing as a Christian!

Sabina Wurmbrand said the Christian prisoners in labor camp in Romania would greet each other with the opening lines of a psalm:

“Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good. His mercy endures forever.”
and the response,
“Let the redeemed of the LORD say so!”

I think a reasonable person could conclude, based on evidence including his own statements, that Barack Obama is a Moslem. I believe that his religion is Marxism, and I’d much sooner vote for a Moslem.

It is Obama’s fault that so many do not trust him, he has lied repeatedly and has tried to hide his history at every attempt of due discovery.

His father was Muslim.
He was registered for school in Indonesia as a Muslim.
He went to Pakistan on an Indonesian passport when he was 20.
He attended for 20 YEARS—1040 Sundays- a very racist and hate filled church.

He can try to put lipstick on that church, but it is still filled with hate.

I don’t care what Nobama calls himself. He isn’t anywhere near the definition of a Christian that I was ever raised with nor have encountered in my 68 years.
American voters don’t need to attend church every Sunday to know in their hearts what a true Christian is.

He can call himself anything he want.
He cannot fool the American voter that much.

If that many people (e.g. 1/3 of voters) really believed that Hussein is a Muslim, he’d be twenty points down right now. It’s the fact that too many people don’t know about his “true faith” (black liberation theology) that’s making him competitive with McCain.

Knowing the NY Times, they're probably obfuscating what people are thinking and saying. Was Obama a Muslim? Definitely, his father was Muslim, that makes him a Muslim. His step-father was Muslim. Obama was registered in Indonesia as a Muslim. He went to Muslim religious classes in Indonesia.

So, if I say I believe that Obama was a Muslim, does that put me in the NY Times 1/3rd?

I agree with you. Additionally, it is in our human nature to share what we do know to be true, especially when we have overcome a temptation ourselves. Perhaps not boastfully, but in a fashion to glorify truth which we have.

A person raised in an antichristian environment, especially in a childhood preparing him to become a Muslim leader, upon acceptance of faith in Christ, is more likely to immediately seize any opportunity available to communicate the Gospel, as well as communicate the true threats of Islam exercised in covert fashions.

There is also no attack upon God through faith in Christ by which one can overcome and persevere in Him. Obama once commented that he was offended by comments he was Muslim. A believer in fellowship with God through faith in Christ isn’t offended by such a situation, rather a believer is likely to clarify and explain why faith in Christ is so much different than the presumption of Islam. Offense is far removed from the believer in faith. If God is for us, then who can be against us and prevail?

On the contrary, if a person coming from a Muslim background, had the perception that Christianity is just a comparative religion to Islam, and those who attended a church were nothing more than a religious country club members, expecting public accolades for religious morality and community Crusades, then I understand how such a person might be offended in their thinking by an allusion to their religious identity.

Some have suggested Obama has been groomed for his position, in no small part by his personal arrogance, and seeks to blend into public acceptance as being a ‘good’ person. Such a personality fits the mold of a worldly person, who may also trigger many a spiritual sin as well.

I haven’t found anything within Obama worthy of promotion, beyond perhaps the nightshift manager at a fast food restaurant or a video rental store. There are plenty of positions for such talents and I do not deny him that opportunity.

When he has been placed in positions to synthesize his own mental constructs and express them, I have been impressed by an incredibly arrogant lack of love for his fellow man. I also observe him attempting to foment imaginative thoughts in his audience independent of God, and frequently seeking to place himself as the focus or intermediary of their reliance. He tolerates and condones those who exalt him above even God Himself and seems to further harden his heart against those with faith through Christ.

The more I think about how I describe his behavior from my observations, the more it dawns on me that he very well identifies as antiChristian.

It was not a political campaign to transform Barack Hussein Obama, Jr., the charismatic, messianic Magic, um, Mulatto from a “Christian” into a Muslim - he was ALWAYS a Muslim.

Child of a non-practicing Muslim, stepson of a practicing Muslim who sent young Barack to a madrassah in Indonesia, one of the most Muslim of non-Arabic states in a part of the world dominiated by Muslim expansionism and hegemony.

Even the participation in the Trinity Church of Christ, there was a pulpit shared and even commanded by the Nation of Islam, a psuedo-religious cult based more or less loosely on the Islamic religion of the Middle East, and including the Black Liberation theology as one of its chief tenents and foundations.

NOI is not a REAL Muslim theology, it is there mostly as a rejection of orthodox Christianity. In this, the Trinity congregation is willing to suspend disbelief long enough to believe that NOI and the Trinity Church of Christ are of one mind and present a united front to the world.

Is Obama a Muslim? Probably not in the accepted sense of the term, but he certainly does not have any aversion to them either.

From what I can tell, Obama’s an atheist. He joined Jeremiah Wright's church because black churches are very important political power centers in the black community, and because he agreed with Wright's anti-white and anti-American bigotry.

Like most secular leftists, he regards Western Civilization as an evil, and America as the worst offender. So in any battle between the West and the Islamic world, his heart will be with the latter. Not so much because he worships Allah and follows the Koran, but because Islam is against the West. Look at how atheist leftists in Europe bend over backwards to accommodate Islam. They do this because they utterly despise Christianity and Western culture, so anything that eats away at Western Christendom from within will get their sympathy.

Thus, Obama will have warm feelings toward Islam even though he doesn't believe in God himself. He also likely feels some ancestral attachment to it because of family heritage on the black side (he doesn't give a damn about his white side). But like most modern leftists, he's an atheist determined to bring about heaven on earth via the Marxist utopia. If Islam helps bring America and the West to its knees, so that his dictatorial desires can blossom, then he'll accommodate Islam and marginalize Christians and Jews.
