You’re right about the new government. It issues contradictory statements on each day.

And some of the generals in the Pakistan army are antagonizing the situation with anti-U.S. statements. Their top guy, General Kayani, has been implicated in the bombing of the Indian embassy in Kabul a few months ago, so he can no longer be trusted - but we have to deal with him anyway.

I’ve been reading some Pakistan news media and blogs tonight.

There are a few level-headed people there who see the situation as we do, and want the U.S. to help Pakistan to get rid of the terrorists.

Some others are calling for war against the U.S., or for Pakistan to ally itself with China.

The whole country seems to be descending into chaos, anarchy and criminality.

Last night I thought it might be the opportunity of taking out Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal and then realised we might actually have to do it.

Pakistan really is in trouble, there’s too much going on and too much inside fighting. Many believe Butto’s husband should not be in charge and I bet he’s dead within a month.

We have many factions at work here, One party fighting the other party and the taliban backed rebels destabilizing both.

Divide and conquer, you know thats the plan.
