Michelle Obama's original thesis is still locked up at Princeton's Mudd Library.

Earlier in the spring, the Obama Campaign released what they claimed to be her thesis after the crap hit the fan, but no one has any way of knowing how much of it had been re-written, edited, or otherwise changed to hide any damning comments, statements, or arguments.

I've already seen Michelle's thesis from Princeton several months ago.

Let's hope we likewise have an opportunity to see Barack Obama's thesis which he supposedly wrote at Columbia. Nor has his transcript there been released. Wonder why.

"The idea of separationism and pluralism (both cultural structural and societal structural) is also discussed by Billingsley (1968) who believes there is a need for Blacks to build up their own communities; define themselves by new "Black" standards different from the old White standards; and exercise power and control over their own institutions and services within the Black community."

Gee, doesn't this sound like inner-city Chicago today?

(Or, in a more tin-foil, sinister vein -- Sharia law in the U.K. ?)

And from page 8 from Part I of Politico:

Conyers and Wallace (1976) embody the idea of Blacks working with Whites as a plausible political and economic ideology about relations between the Black and White Communities. Their discussion focuses on representative integration which is the integration of Black official into various aspects of politics. They discuss problems which face these Black officials who must persuade the White community that they are above issues of race and that they are representing all people and not just Black people."

Sounds like the whole Obama campaign, until it ran into trouble, at which point the Race Card got played (for example by Kansas Gov. Sibelius.)

You know, I skimped through this thesis....

She is a terrible speaker...makes many mistakes...
But i dont see many mistakes if any in this thesis, this is NOT hers...When was this done???

There doesn’t seem to be mistakes in English grammar or spelling mistakes....This is no way hers??? Was there spell check back then?

But again, i could be wrong...

I have a hard time understanding the same. Yet there are many people who “live right, vote left.” I ran into one the other day . . . Jewish female lawyer from NY . . .”you voting for Obama”? Of course she was, absolutely.

Yet in the same conversation she went on to complain how her son’s high school was dumbing down the curriculum, thus hurting his college choice opportunities.

Hmm, her thesis technically covers only Princeton Alumni of color.

Otherwise we could use Jeremiah Wright (assigned to the medical team to care for LBJ, received a personal letter of thanks from the White House physician, Vice Admiral Burkley; holds a Master's Degree in English --if Wikipedia is accurate (!) ) as a counterexample.

Come to think of it, given the entire subject of the thesis -- measuring the Princeton experience and its effects on Princeton students of color vis-à-vis race relations -- Princeton didn't help her to assimilate completely in either van der Berghe's first or second sense.

Pg. 30 and 31 read in part:

"Table 4.4 a shows that during Pre-to-Prin period a larger percentage of respondents reported becoming unmotivated to benefit God, than they were in becoming motivated to benefit God, but during the Prin-to-Post period a larger percentage of respondents reported becoming motivated to benefit God than they were becoming not motivated to benefit God."

It is interesting that the thesis is in the first-person (my, I, me). Wouldn't an advisor steer students to do more objective work and use “third person-professional” type of style?

Agreed - people in college are sometimes malleable and idealistic and know that to get an A you sometimes parrot your professors, who are leftie loonies. Too many of them do more than parrot, though, and swallow the party line hook, line, and sinker. Fortunately, most then go into the real world, get a job and have to pay bills, and the scales fall from their eyes prety quickly.

Of course, some folks leave the college Liberal Cradle for an almost indentical one in the world of lobbyists, Non-for-Profit social justice brigades, and the like. They never grow up, though they realize that the liberal ideology sold as idealism is actually its opposite - fascist bullying. Them that adhere to it after this realization are the true thugs. Obama is a thug. Rev. Wright's a thug. Most journalists are thugs. The Fannie/Freddie bureaucrats and their congressional enablers are thugs. I haven't heard enough from Mrs. Obama to judge.

There is already a movie about this kind of oppression taking over a nation.

It’s called “V for Vengeance”.

In it, the Magic Avenger (”V”) gets close to and kills off all those who have oppressed him (by making him the subject of a series of experiments), and eventually he escapes because of a fire in the facility, coming back and playing “the Count of Monte Cristo”.

I think Michelle was just using the “Cliff Notes” of the Alexandre Dumas tale, and adapting it to her own experiences. You shall note, that Michelle’s research does seem ultimately self-absorbed.

You know what shocked me when I read her thesis many months ago? It wasn’t her racial attitudes. It was how poorly the thesis was written. It totally blows the notion of Michelle as an intellectual.
