Hillary Clinton has carefully avoided directly criticizing Sarah Palin, but the same courtesy apparently doesn't work the other way.
Palin's spokeswoman this morning issued a statement hitting Clinton for pulling out of a protest being organized by several Jewish groups outside the United Nations on Sept. 22 against Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Clinton cancelled after finding out that Palin, the Republican vice presidential nominee, also planned to be there.
"Governor Palin believes that the danger of a nuclear Iran is greater than party or politics. She hopes that all parties can rally together in opposition to this grave threat," said Tracey Schmitt, a spokeswoman for Palin.

I suppose the old "If she's going, then I'm not" isn't interpreted by the author as direct criticism.

I think it’s a bad idea for Palin to start going after Hillary. Frankly, I don’t see the logic in it at all.
To: jennyjenny
Its apparently partisan politics to draw attention to Hillary's decision to put party above country!

HUH???? SHE ONLY SAID KIND WORDS ABOUT CLINTON DURING HER SPEECH IN OHIO AND AT THE CONVENTION IN DENVER. SHE ALSO SAID KIND WORDS ABOUT HER TO PROFESSOR GIBSON.

She didn’t go after Hillary. The headline writer made it up.

See there is NO working together to keep our country safe.
For the DemocRATS, it’s always about being in power.
I would have thought Hillary was actually human had she joined Sarah, but that’s asking too much of the people appointed to work for the people.

I’d hardly call that “going after” Hillary. Hillary has simply had her smacked too hard over the last few months and is acting like a 14 year old child by refusing to show.

I’ve wondered all day if Hillary pulled out at Obama’s request, or at Hillary’s discretion.
If she doesn’t show, does it alienate Jewish voters, and if Jewish voters are alienated toward Obama, it not only helps McCain, but ultimately Clinton if her goal is the 2012 run for the Presidency.
Everytime I think of anything Hillary does on behalf of Obama, I always wonder about her motive...the words I hear in my head: “I come to bury Cesar, not to praise him.”

This article is really spun against Palin. First of all, both Palin and Clinton were invited, therefore Clinton’s claim that it was a “partisan” event is false. Secondly, since it was Palin’s presence that caused Clinton to drop out, it was Clinton who took the first shot, not Palin. Palin was simply reacting to Clinton’s action, and her commment about Clinton was quite reasonable, i.e., Clinton put partisan politics above the non-partisan message that the rally was intending to promote.

I don’t know what reason Clinton would have to criticize Palin over. It’s not like she whined about Clinton having cooties and didn’t want to be at the same event at seperate times with her.

She didn’t do it at Obama’s request.
She squelched on her promise to help him with tours of the country extolling his virtues and she refuses to raise a dime for him.
She pointedly said she was busy helping other members on the Hill raise cash.
Hillary is never going to lift a finger to help him.
Hillary and Obama loathe each other. It has been obvious all along.

This whole thing is stupid. Hillary's staff said they were "blindsided" (that's the term they used) when they agreed, but then found out Palin was going to be there and backed out on that excuse. Now
that's a slam.
If you were invited to an event, wouldn't you ask who sponsored it and who was going to be there? Weren't they smart enough to find out before agreeing to show up?
The media spin that Palin is not gracious is predictable but it's soooo tiresome. They are desperate for her to say something bad about Hillary so they can get the PUMAs back on the plantation.

Greta interviewed a French film documentarian who filmed Palin and she had extremely positive words about Hillary then, too. It was in April, long before she had anything to gain by anything she said.
