RAWALPINDI: A man on Sunday morning surrendered himself to Waris Khan Police after killing his newlywed daughter and son-in-law in the name of honour.

Police arrested him and began investigation into the killing.

In May this year, Shabana, 20, had eloped with Abdul Khursheed, 40, who was already married and had three children.

The act enraged girl’s father, Abdul Rasheed of Dhoke Farman Elahi, who shot dead the couple late on Saturday night after inviting them to a tea party at home.

The killer later showed up at Waris Khan Police Station and confessed to killing the couple. Police took him into custody and seized bodies and gun used for the killing from his house.

They later booked Rasheed in a double murder case and handed over the bodies to respective families after autopsy.

Investigation Officer (IO) Yousaf Butt said the couple was murdered in the name of honour.

He said Waris Khan police had registered a case of the girl’s kidnapping at the request of her father but failed to trace her whereabouts despite making many arrests. staff report

Doing away with the hubby is one thing but then the only way around a tainted daughter is death as well.

It’s Pakistan: Moslems.

But honestly, what kind of dummy goes to tea with the father of the girl he ran off with earlier this year? Did he think he was going to collect some dowry?

Hindi is a language. Did you mean Hindu, the religion?

No, I meant the plural of Hindu people, but it was just a guess. What say you?

I think the plural of Hindu is Hindu. It sometimes used to be spelled as Hindoo.
