...reversing forty years of feminist progress...

If forty years of feminist progress means a woman like
Sarah Palin can’t be elected Vice President, what good
is it.

I wonder what Biden would think of Chopra’s Indian accent.

I'm always amused to see people minimize the challenges of being Governor of Alaska, the largest state in the US. Although there are, in fact, less than 700,000 residents in Alaska, those residents are scattered across a span that reaches about 2,300, measured between the two furthest points in the state.

While the number of people is small, many of the people who require government services, like law enforcement, emergency medical, and other social services, live in areas that can only be reached by aircraft or boat.

There are numerous native tribes in Alaska, and each of them have their own agreements with the State of Alaska to allow them fishing and hunting rights, as well as services and the areas in which they live. Each of those agreements needs to be monitored and sometimes violations need to be addressed. The Governor of Alaska has one of the largest National Guard forces of any governor in the US, and those forces are spread far across the state.

Beyond those factors Alaska doesn't have the benefit of bordering any other US state. So, while we see bordering states assisting in time of disaster, as we're watching right now with Hurricane Ike support, Alaska is pretty much “on its own” when they have a major disaster. Canada, while bordering Alaska, has very little population in the region, and Russia, to the west, can hardly help themselves.

The reality of the situation in Alaska is that Governor Palin’s duties probably mirror those duties of the President of the United States more than any other governor (certainly more than any US Senator or “community organizer”).

What bull dinky! This is radical leftist hate-cant. No one is buying this.

“a return to petty, small-minded parochialism.” This is what small town values mean? Really?

Here’s the clincher:
“It would be a shame to elect another Reagan”

Frankly, it would be great to elect another Reagan.

The sad part is that he is proud of it and it’s a sure sign of being brain dead.

Deepak Chopra has made millions of dollars scamming people out of their money. He is well-trained in traditional medicine. If he really wants to be ‘spiritual’ and help people he should donate some of his time staffing clinics in underserved areas instead of giving ‘high colonics’ to people whose money he is taking (that is literally what he does as part of his ‘spiritual cleansing’). He lectures about how materialism is what causes people to get sick. If he really believes his own BS then why doesn't he give his books away, lecture for free, and become a ‘not-for-profit’ guru?

Deepak is having trouble seeing that Obama is a fraud. He wants so badly to believe in a politician that he is refusing to see Obama the Marxist/Leninist thug, who would have no hesitation about destroying the Deepak Chopras of the world if they got in his way.

“given her negligent parochial expertise in the complex affairs of governing”.

Negligent? Obviously, he meant negligible. I stopped reading at that point.
