"Not just conservatives possess a shadow — we all do."

Um...yeah.

No footnotes? We discussed this psychobabble months ago, satirically, with reference to Rev. Wright on FR. It is ENTIRELY untrue that Obama represents a higher idealism which does not pander to negativity and shadow projections (the "white man's greed" Manicheanism, Michelle's not being "proud of her country"). The whole premise of his campaign has been to invoke racism from 40 or 50 years ago, even over a hundred years ago, as an excuse for why he should be elected.

There is not just the shadow of Rev. Wright, but Hillary, William Ayers, Saul Alinsky, Frank Marshall Davis, Michelle's anger, the granny under the bus, the grandiose Greek Temple freakshow in Denver, a whole lot of negativity and anger.

All those angry women who have had abortions screaming at Palin and Bush:

Even before the "bitter" comments, attacking white Americans in small towns with negative aspersions, Obama took inspiration from negative anti-American radicals. Obama's whole point of view is based on negative radicalism, attacking this country and its traditions. Obama's mentor, the radical agitator, Saul Alinsky explains this Manichean point of view:

Obama's not projecting the negative shadow? No footnotes? They had to lock the reverend away and muzzle Michelle, whose "shadow" was only recently proud of her country, to keep the charade of fake idealism going. When Obama projected his shadow at "bitter" white Democrats in small towns, clinging to their guns and religion, maybe the Swami missed it? Or just this week, the "idealism" of putting "lipstick on a pig"? Maybe that was just the pig's shadow talking there?

Obama, the Nodes and the Hero's Journey (Tuesday April 1, 2008) :"Dharmaruci is back, and has a wonderful post about the Clinton/Obama mashup. He predicts that the Clinton candidacy will unwind when Pluto retrogrades this month, and connects the Obama candidacy to the Hero's Journey in Jungian terms: "Obama’s journey so far can be seen in Jungian archetypal terms, with the Reverend Jeremiah Wright being, in my opinion, Obama’s greatest benefactor during this period. What we find in Jungian psychology is the journey from Young Hero to Wise Old Man, and necessary encounters with the Shadow and Anima, or Feminine, along the way. These encounters deepen the Young Hero, who begins with wonderful ideals, and a desire to complete some enormous task that will save the world (this is my way of putting it, not Jung’s.) But he is naïve, he sees the world in black and white terms, good guys versus bad guys. He, of course, is aligned with the Good. (I’m putting all this in male terms for now, but it translates quite easily into female terms). It was during this naïve Young Hero phase that we encountered Obamania, when the saintly saviour archetype was projected strongly onto him by many people, and not just by young or uneducated people either. There was rightly a reaction in the opposite direction by many other people. And then, as Pluto stationed in March, we heard the voice of the Underworld, of America’s Shadow in the form of the Reverend Jeremiah Wright, Obama’s long-time pastor. "
