Election '08: Back when he led the polls, Barack Obama gallantly promised a new, post-partisan politics. Now his lead is gone, and he's getting personal about Sarah Palin. However he justifies it, he's starting to look small.
On Tuesday in Virginia, Obama himself sank to levels not even plumbed by Joe Biden. He basically called the GOP's vice presidential contender a stinking fish and a pig, all to the knowing cheers of his audience.
"You can put lipstick on a pig," he told his crowd. "It's still a pig. You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called change. It's still gonna stink. We've had enough of the same old thing."
But rest assured, Obama said when questioned later, the statement was "innocent."
We're not so sure. In light of Palin's reference to pit bulls and lipstick in her convention speech last week, and her nickname of Barracuda, Obama's remark looked like a bid to psychologically bully her with an arpeggio of trash talk.

Cacca is right, he’s full of it!
Well looks like he is veering off the high road..Little wonder though: He’s run out of issues to discuss and is beginning to repeat and clarify his repeats...On Domestic issues he says he wants universal health care and lies about not raising taxes..Truth is he wants massive tax increases..On Foreign Affairs he knows nothing..His trips to the Middle East did not make him an expert on anything. His VP choice meanwhile, who supposedly is an expert is off kissing babies in Dry Gulch...So his total message is 0...His polls are going in the trash can and looks like he’ll be joining the paper wrapped fish there soon...

I wonder is obama would be so balsy insulting Todd’s wife on a street in Wasills??
obama is less than a man.
“code words in a bid to psychologically demean her”
This is exactly how I see it and I don’t see it happening to a man. I hate to call sexism, but Obama has a history of it and I am beginning to think it for real.
i’m sure probably being an ex-hockey player himself & never in his life seeing so many savages defame his wife, he’s gotta be pissed.
Let’s have a pay-per-view smack down
Michele vs Sarah
Mccain vs Biden
& the main event
Obama vs Todd
I am in great amazement about how this race has lately turned into Obama v. Palin. McCain and Biden are rarely mentioned.
To be perfectly honest, if they were all unarmed, the one I would fear most in a dark alley is.........
Michelle.
I just finished watching Larry King hold court over the matter. That makes it official. You peasants are hereby allowed to acknowledge that it happened.
maybe we all buy a lipstick and send it to BHO...

Since Barry allegedly wants to get the conversation back on a “higher plane”, I think that this is McCain’s golden opportunity to resurface his offer of “town-hall” meetings. Following his “almost held his own” appearance with O’Reilly on FOX, and with a certain air of desperation creeping into his campaign, Barack (not his advisers, just Barack) might just take McCain up on some “town-halls” (in which case, “game, set, match).
I think Obama was trying to be cute, and ended up being too cute by half.
From a democrats point of view, he should have NEVER said that. All it did was bring him more trouble. If he were smart, he would never mention Palin again.
I don’t think he is very smart.
The empty suit has fooled a lot of people, but he hasn’t fooled me.
I had planned to watch the interview, but after listening to him talk for about 15 seconds to O’Reilly on last Friday, I couldn’t take it anymore and changed the channel back to C-SPAN, so I could watch the convention coverage. I just can not listen to him. His voice turns me completely off
