Ron Paul Plans ‘Special Announcement’ (Ralph Nader and Cynthia McKinney join his merry band)
Wall Street Journal ^

Posted on 09/09/2008 12:18:42 PM PDT by mnehring

Rep. Ron Paul, the former Republican presidential candidate who excited a multitude of young voters during the primaries, announced a “major” news conference in Washington Wednesday.

With a range of third-party candidates at his side – including the Libertarian Party’s Bob Barr, independent candidate Ralph Nader, the Constitution Party’s Chuck Baldwin and the Green Party’s Cynthia McKinney – it’s unlikely that Paul will pick just one to support. But his spokesman said to expect “something of an endorsement,” with “a real effect on this fall’s election.”

IMHO, the third parties are in panic mode. Palin is peeling Conservative votes away from the Baldwin/Barr unholy alliance and Nader/McKinney are tired of being ignored and want on the fundraiser bandwagon.

Either way, I would like to see what type of 'effect' they want to have on the election? Who do they want to shift the election toward, McCain or Obama (my bet is the latter.)

Good grief. There is plenty of room to attack the GOP from the right. Unfortunately, this band of retards can’t tell left from right.

The third parties are in a panic mode? Getting worried about perhaps not winning in November, are they?

In other news Pee Wee Herman announced a Major News Conference in which he will give his views on this Presidential race.

Should Paul embrace McKinney, he should just step out back and shoot himself. Constitutional compliance is good, McKinney is wacko.

Why don't all these 3rd party whackjobs just form one party and run as a committee?

Somehow ‘Ron Paul’ and ‘major news conference’ just don’t seem to fit together.

There’s enough action going on with the “main event” this election cycle. Third party spoiler wannabes can’t even generate blip on the radar.

One of the rumors running about is that is what they will do. Basically, they all will pledge any delegates they win to Paul, that way they can all strategically run in each State they are strongest and/or where it could possibly swing a state against McCain to Obama.

Note, that is just a rumor.

Probably a third-party debate paid for by Ron Paul's Campaign for Liberty to be aired on prime-time network television.

If they're smart, they'll put up two podiums with McCain and Obama's names of them and let the American people see those empty podiums after McCain and Obama inevitably decline to attend.

All third parties combined received 1% of the vote last year.

Whatever announcement they make will be meaningless.

Then they'll look at the people in the other podiums and that decision will be a plus towards the judgment of the McCain and NoBama.

Baldwin is a blame America First moonbat as much as the others. He is a neo-isolationist who believes that the Constitution authorizes a theocratic state. He believes in ‘Zionist’ conspiracies to control the government and banks.. No thanks.. We may agree on some issues, but the foundations as to why he agrees is much different.
