Obama Trying to Look More and More Like McCain
Pajamas Media ^ | September 7, 2008 | Victor Davis Hanson

On matters like abortion, capital punishment, gun control and FISA, Obama again moves closer to McCain rather than vice versa. Apparently, he realizes that no northern Democratic liberal has been elected since JFK, nearly a half-century ago—an amazing fact in and of itself—and so has to follow the Bill Clinton centrist route, which can be accomplished by a variety of measures....

Obama trying to look more like McCain? He has to grow a pair first.

Second, what's he trying to do, get his new face on a three dollar bill or something?

And when JFK was elected, he got a minority of the popular vote. Mississippi and Alabama both sent slates of undeclared electors. Deduct the share of those voters from the Democratic popular vote, and even with the stuffing in Illinois and Texas, JFK was a minority president.

Well, Barry, to really look like McCain, you’d have to go to Vietnam and get the crap beaten out of you for several years. You just don’t have time.

This is like after game 1 of 88 world series. Heck, Sarah Palin probablly gave the highlights that night. (She was a sports broadcaster at that time)

Oakland was favored to win. Tommy Lasorda sends Gibson to the plate. Gibson had been banged up, Nobody expected him to do anything. People would have second guessed the decision for an eternity if he would have failed. Expectations are low...and then....YES. BOOM.

The As were stunned. It blew their socks off, Everybody in America knew the World Series was over.

It is still early, the Democrats still have a chance to win. But if you look into their eyes, what do you see ?

YES.

TBS is rerunning Saving Private Ryan, and I watch this, and I’m trying to put Obama in the film in some roll...and I can’t.

Not from the Bixby Letter to the defense of that small town in France, there is no Obama “organizer roll” in that film.

Obamao flunks the test.

This is why the McCain campain (or one of the 527s) need to make an ad aimed to the young voters, who somehow buy into Obama is post-racial, post-party politician who will unite every body.

The ad should show that Obama is 'your ordinary politican. The extraordinary about him is he changes his positions faster than any other politican.'

And I tried my FRiend, there is no room for Obama.

If anything, a parody title (for such a serious film) would be “Saving Sarah Palin” the incoming fire from the high ground on the beach is the MSM attacks on Sarah Palin, we are in her company, the rest follows, we will take that hill, we will not fail

Sarah Palin is a part of our Stick, she is one of us, no matter the rapid fire accusations, we will expose and take out those positions.....

Let’s make a bet (ala Saving..Ryan) I think she gives her first interview to....

This afternoon I watched the stories about the lives of John Sidney McCain & Barack Hussein Obama on the Fox cable channel. I am not a black person & I'm not voting for McCain because he's white.

I watched the story of John's life & came to admire him for what he has overcome & admire how much he & his wife have strived to actually help needy people of all colors to share their earned wealth with the unfortunates.

They do not make lofty statements about how wonderful they are and how much they have done for others. They share their family wealth in remarkable ways. They are not asking for public admiration for what they do.

My impression of Obama is that there are very likely thousands of black men in our country, that I would vote for, who would make a better first black president.

Obama is very much a street person, who sought the company of questionable people, who never seemed to have a quality job, moving around without setting down roots, loking for the magic bullet to promote himself to higher office. He learned how to play the system to elevate himself. I see nothing in his background or his life to imagine why he thinks he should be the President of the United States.

I compare Obama to Clarence Thomas, who the democrats vilified. A fine and humble man who understands a family, the life of being poor & raising himself up in an honorable way to make something of himself. Obama does not hold a candle to Justice Thomas. Clarence Thomas did not gain what he did by making friends with questionable people to grease his way up the ladder. He continues to live his life with honor.

Michelle & Obama used their influence in Chicago to elevate themselves - her - to a high paying position & him to keep climbing to higher office & using people of questionable reputation to buy the home they live in. Her way of flaunting their wealth by publicly complaining about how hard life is to pay for the luxuries that their children enjoy is not the way a person with the heart of a servant behaves.

I see nothing in their lives to show that they are using their wealth to help those in need. Everything is being done to make broad statements about what Obama has actually accomplished by not revealing any paper trail or actual facts that can be traced in order to make a clear decision about what he actually accomplished - except continuously moving up to higher office to get where he is today.

It's unfortunate that anyone would choose Obama as a role model for their children to look up to. My hope is that one day there will the right black man, at the right time, who is not ashamed to reveal his life to us & make us proud to stand up with him by honoring him with the Presidency of our great country.

With his announcement that he wanted to join the military, now he can claim to be a veteran, using typical democrat reasoning.

And since there wasn’t a war, but he wishes there were, he could reason that he was captured by the enemy, held in a box for 5, no, make that 10 years, and tortured everyday. And he didn’t break. Ever.

And they beat him so badly, all four limbs had to be amputated and he now walks and plays basketball with artificial limbs.

IIRC - the do-nothing Reid senate already voted on a 2010 budget that allows President Bush's tax cuts to expire.

It would demonstrate wonderful leadership if Senator Obama were to return to the senate and build a consensus of Republicans and Dems to re-vote on the 2010 budget and insert an amendment that extends the tax cuts indefinitely.

But I think you and I know that Senator Obama does not have the leadership skills to do that...

BO return to the Senate to propose restoring tax cuts? If he did propose adding it in, it would be totally for political reasons and really put the Pubbies in a pickle because it would probably be tied to the bill to keep the government running and that ridiculous Gang of 10 drilling recommendation. This could get real interesting!
