As many of you have heard, there is a flag controversy between the Republicans and the DemocRATS. The RNC is claiming that it save about 12,000 Americans flags leftover from Invesco Field in Denver. The claim is that they were headed for the dumpster.
The DemocRATS are claiming that the flags were "stolen" and never intended for the dumpster. They claim that they were in storage and were either to be used again or donated.
If 12,000 flags were stolen, I would think that a police report would have been filed.
In a preliminary contact with the Denver Police, I was transferred to an officer in the communications department. She knew of no police report for the theft of such flags, but she referred me to the Public Information Officer, whom I will attempt to call on Monday.
That is the latest on the story. We will let you know the status after the discussion with the PIO.

Didn’t Drudge have a picture last week from Invesco of garbage cans filled with flags ?
Those are nice flags and were probably worth several thousand dollars. If they were taken from storage, someone should be arrested. If they were found by a dumpster, the RATS need to pay big time.
check with the Solid Waste Dept see if the green party called for a recycling pick up

We are all somewhat confused and waiting for the full story. Supposedly, they were found near a dumpster and not in storage for safekeeping. Did someone break into storage and steal them? We don’t know yet. CBS is calling it a bogus story because they are taking the RAT spin on it.

UPDATE I: I just spoke with the person at Invesco who found the flags and he thinks both sides are exaggerating a bit. The person claims the majority of the bags with flags in them were near the trash, on a dock, and would have been thrown away. The person thinks it was probably an “oversight” by the Democrats rather than any nefarious plot against the flag. But the person doesn’t believe anyone was coming to get them: “The flags were there for a week and a day and no one came looking for them.”
I think the whole world now knows the democrats have been lying all along.

The Dems are lying again and no doubt the usual media will be either trying to ignore the story or go with the Dem and Obama lie
1. the flags were found in the venue. I don't think the Dims rented the venues a week after the convention.
2. If they were in the storage, how could the boyscouts got their hands on the flags?
3. The vendors claimed that the flags were next to the dumpster, and there are many pics showing that, indeed, the Dims threw (at least some of) the flags.
The Dims didn't realize that their property were 'stolen'? And, as this thread suggests, they didn't file any report to the police?
I am eagerly awaiting the Democrats to provide proof. We all know they will be very cooperative in proving that the flags were stolen and will be pressing charges. Because we all know demoRATS wouldn’t lie about something of this nature.
At minimum they were disrespected per Section 176 above. But then, libscum have no respect for this country; why would they respect her flag?
The MSM has pretty much ignored this story.
They are all in Alaska interviewing the 9,000 residents of Wasilla for one disgruntled citizen who will make headlines for the next several days.

Doesn’t really sound to me like BOTH sides are exaggerating.
It sure looked to me like the flags were in plastic trash bags with other items that anyone would consider trash

Interesting. Those flags are $5.00 a piece. So $60,000 was "stolen" and noone thought to file a police report. Well ModelBreaker has four of them. Every precinct caucus I run in the future will start with one of them and the story of how the rats were going to throw them out.

You guys should have seen it today. They passed them out to a huge crowd at the McCain/Palin rally. The flags started at the front and then spread across the crowd. By the end, 12,000 Republicans were waving flags paid for by the DNC.
That's what conservatives have spent the last 50 years doing. Cleaning up after the mess left by liberals. We even know what to do with their trash.
Doug, those pics need to go to Drudge, Hannity, Rush and any other media outlet that will broadcast them.
Some were mixed with litter and if I remember some were on the floor. They were not in bundles or bundled in trash bags.
I just spent a half-hour trying to find the photo Drudge had on his site last week, to no avail. Maybe someelse will have better luck?

If the flags had been French, the democrats would have taken them home like they were a national treasure and displayed them proudly.

Those pictures don’t look like leftover bundles...they look like common waste...if they were important they would have had someone retrieve them all right away and not let them be put in trash bags and left for days. No one cared because they were just camera “props” and nothing more to the RATS. They disgust me and then try and say the McCain camp are thieves...unbelievable...

I remember when I first saw the pictures of the discarded flags at Invesco. If I had a flag from a convention, I would want to save it as a souvenir. I still have the first flag to fly on my car after 9-11. It’s a keepsake. Tattered by the wind.
But whatever you do do NOT say they are unpatriotic.
I'm having trouble figuring out how to make the NEA look like something anyone would want to buy. Same problem for Dept of Education, Dept of Energy, and the rest of them. Any ideas.
Seriously, I wonder if we could do this as a spoof. Sell a certificate (that carries no rights) entitling the user to put crosses in urine--cool stuff like that. Or that entitles the buyer, as honorary secretary of education to dumb down any three subjects of his or her choice any say anything he wants (so long as it is nasty) about his choice of any three of the following American Presidents, George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, Ronald Reagan.
Make it clear the proceeds were to be donated to McCain/Palin.
We could also sell an evening with William Ayer's, well a William Ayers lookalike. Discuss how to launch your political career . . . There are actually some agitprop possibilities here.
