It seems Fox News and some far-right blogs are excited about the latest in a series of lies from the McCain campaign -- the notion that thousands of American flags from the Democratic convention were going to be thrown away.
Like far too many of the stories pushed by the McCain campaign, and embraced by Fox News and far-right blogs, it's not true.

The only problem with the DNC response, and what CBS is missing, is the "other" pics. Not pics of well wrapped flags, but of flags in trash bags with food, forks, empty water bottles, etc:
If CBS had seen these pics, would they really believe the DNC saying: "I mean, c'mon, we were never ever going to throw out flags."?
On second thought, they believed microsoft word could make a "th" in the 70's....
Why did they have 12,000 left-over flags in the first place???? Seems the DNC could not even give the flags away to Obama followers.
Well, for *some* of the Obama followers, those flags were from the wrong country...

So McCain can make an ad with this picture telling the people that nObama was going to donate them to that it's their repsonsibility to clean off the used food and recycle the water bottles.
If the flags were the Hammer and Sickle, they would have been treated like gold by the Demorats!
I would suggest that both events could be true. The flags were collected and bagged as people exited. Some however didn’t turn them in, they trashed theirs.
If you explain to CBS that these pictures are “fake but accurate”, they may pick up the story. It’s the only logic they can muster.

Well, with phrases like “another in a series of lies from the McCain campaign”, it certainly does sound like CBS is giving us unbiased reporting.
CBS doesn’t buy the spin, they write the spin.
Those flags are forgeries. There are only 50 stars on them.
I swear, Barack Obama is half black half white, and so he’s fairly light-complected, but Rev Wright looks like a white dude. The only thing black about him is the way he talks, and anybody can do that. I wonder if anyone has ever researched his family tree.
It would be nice to know when the picture of the bags in the CBS were taken. Could this be a picture before the convention started?
Kind of ironic that the network that brought us RatherGate would say consider the source.

Yes, and it wasn't that it fell on the floor. If you look closely, you'll see that the stick is leaning up against the chair as if he carelessly placed the flag that way (upside down touching the floor) intentionally.

In March of 2007, FOX News host Sean Hannity had engaged Obama’s pastor in a heated interview about his Church’s teachings. For many viewers, the ensuing shouting match was their first exposure to "Black Liberation Theology"...
Like the pro-communist Liberation Theology that swept Central America in the 1980s and was repeatedly condemned by Pope John Paul II, Black Liberation Theology combines warmed-over 1960s vintage Marxism with carefully distorted biblical passages. However, in contrast to traditional Marxism, it emphasizes race rather than class. The Christian notion of "salvation" in the afterlife is superseded by "liberation" on earth, courtesy of the establishment of a socialist utopia.

In the days when the Superpowers were locked in a Cold War, Latin America seethed with revolution, and millions lived behind an iron curtain, a group of theologians concocted a novel idea within the history of Christianity. They proposed to combine the teachings of Jesus with the teachings of Marx as a way of justifying violent revolution to overthrow the economics of capitalism.
The Gospels were re-rendered not as doctrine impacting on the human soul but rather as windows into the historical dialectic of class struggle. These "liberation theologians" saw every biblical criticism of the rich as a mandate to expropriate the expropriating owners of capital, and every expression of compassion for the poor as a call for an uprising by the proletarian class of peasants and workers.

The photo of the flags in the black trash bags are those that were NEVER distributed: They are all rolled up and clear, in uniform sets EXACTLY in order and in EXACT lines of uniform stick position in even rolls just like they come off the machines.
Check this:
The democrats - at NO time - ever waved or displayed 12,000 flags in public. (I could imagine they might have waved 100, maybe 1000 - but I actually never saw even half that amount (500) on the screen images.
I think if it is make up someone needs to walk the plank.
I would say you are correct, kids throw stuff in garbage and so do adults. But I don’t think all those flags were that neatly collected to throw away.
