Illegal Aliens are Very Special People
Vanity | September 6, 2008 | Tennessee Nana

Posted on 09/06/2008 5:54:18 PM PDT by Tennessee Nana

It is interesting to note the wording about the issue of national security and immigration in the Republican Party platform for this election cycle. By adding a misbegotten phase to the end of some pseudo reassuring sentences, the Republicans have sent an alarm through a group of hold outs that they may have been hoping to win to their side.

What did the Republican platform committee intend as the exact meaning of the fragment that was tucked at the end of one of a sentence; “except as provided by federal law”? The complete sentence appears to be strong and nationalist: It does not mean driver’s licenses for illegal aliens, nor does it mean that states should be allowed to flout the federal law barring them from giving in-state tuition rates to illegal aliens, nor does it mean that illegal aliens should receive social security benefits, or other public benefits, EXCEPT AS PROVIDED BY FEDERAL LAW.

Are we to assume the proverbial camel of amnesty still has leave to pop his nose under the tent of immigration law and gaze mournfully into our sovereign country until some “compassionate” La Raza supported group convinces Senators McCain, Lindsey, and Kennedy (and his minions), that enough time has passed to cause the slumbering American citizens to be fooled once more?

Next week the United States Senate will return to Washington. What “comprehensive immigration reform” legislation has been undergoing the readiness to spring forth in those first few days of session? The AMNESTY Bill has not died in the minds of those who intend to burden the American taxpayers with death, mayhem and millions of extra mouths to feed; it has only been “hiding in the shadows”.

Although the platform claims that “we oppose amnesty”, nothing has been said by any highly placed party member about plans to deport the 30,000,000 illegal aliens presently in our country. The only mention of immigration by Senator John McCain in his acceptance speech was the affirmation that the “Latina daughter of migrant workers” was as much an American as a descendant of one of the Mayflower pilgrims. Indeed, the “migrants” were never identified as legal or illegal, but worthy of consideration all the same.

Last year we burned out the senate switch boards demanding that our senators deny the passage of legislation that would excuse even known and dangerous gang members the crime of entering the United States illegally. A few loyal elected Americans in the senate fought back against a determined and unheeding cabal of traitors who chose to champion invading antagonists they owed no allegiance over patriotic Americans they had sworn to serve.

Personally, I called my Tennessee senators, Lamar Alexander and Bob Corker, and politely asked their office staff to inform them that I would like their vote to be NO. I continued to call once a day, every week day until I was confronted in public by a high ranking state party official who accused me in a loud and abusive voice that I was a “bigot” and I was “anti-immigration” and that I was bothering the senators with my constant calling, and I was to stop calling them immediately.

This undue behavior by a party official was not only embarrassing, but also an attempt to violate my constitutional rights. Neither Alexander nor Corker had committed to voting against the AMNESTY Bill and were extremely secretive and untrustworthy. In October, 2006, shortly before the election, Corker had been rude and dismissive when I had asked him about his stance on illegal aliens. Later, I discovered that Corker had hired illegal aliens in his businesses. During the spring of 2007, Alexander had visited my town, and had referred me to his aid when I asked him how he intended to vote on the Bill; I never received an answer from her either. When Corker finally received the nearly 1,000 pages of the Bill, I asked him at a Republican dinner how he intended to vote, to be told he knew nothing about the contents and would have to read them first.

Now I had been ordered to cease calling the senators right in the middle of one of the biggest period of patriotic activism America has experienced, outside of wars for revolution and freedom. If you can understand the heartbeat of a REAL immigrant, it is love of country and the rule of law: I called twice and thrice a day from that time on, changing my rhetoric and attitude to one of firmness and expectation. I no longer asked for a vote against the AMNESTY Bill, I informed the staff that I wanted my elected public servants to vote the way I wished. I was not rude, but I was not cowered either.

Next week I will be in Washington for the Hold Their Feet to the Fire Lobbying Days on the continuing presence of the tens of millions of illegal aliens. I do not have appointments to visit Senator Lamar Alexander nor Bob Corker. After Emails and phone calls, over several weeks, Corker’s staff has not answered my inquiries. Alexander’s staff was also difficult to reach.

However, I have had an explanation from both senators. Ten days ago another high ranking Republican Party official approached me, and informed me that I was to stop being “negative” about the illegal aliens. This official was more sociable than the last, but I was told that I was to start saying “positive” things instead. He began to give an embellished and lengthy account of an illegal alien soldier in Iraq who had earned the Medal of Honor, until I finally asked him if the man had saved his fellow comrades in arms by falling on a hand grenade. He was visibly put out, but recovered himself, and declared that the man was a hero and deserved to be an American.

Later confusion set in. Did he claim that illegal aliens were serving in the United States military, or was the only good immigrant a dead one? Did I only deserve respect as a REAL immigrant to these people if I died for the country, or was here illegally? Although it is futile to attempt to understand the minds full of the open borders concept, it is interesting to pass the time between episodes of the AMNESTY Bill drama series, wondering what to expect next, and what benefits the illegal aliens will suddenly be offered by the people the American taxpayers sent to Washington.

The Republican Party platform may claim to offer nothing “except as provided by federal law”, but that can be deemed to mean anything. In the 1980’s the Supreme Court said that a few hundred thousand illegal alien children could attend our public schools. From that one change to the law came many expensive extras, and now at least FOUR MILLION illegal alien children receive free education, as well as free breakfasts, lunches, food stamps, and medical care.

Will lax border practices and sanctuary cities continue in a McCain administration? Last week during the hurricane, the New Orleans immigration office was closed, so two illegal aliens bound for Louisiana and deportation, were let loose onto the highway in east Tennessee. Meanwhile Ramos and Campion remain incarcerated.

Senator McCain has not addressed the issue of immigration and may not, unless forced to do so. He needs to be reminded that we have not forgotten the travesty last year. He needs to realize that the American taxpayers are waiting for reassurance that he will not attempt to force a policy of lawlessness on law abiding citizens. Until he does so, it appears that he prefers the illegal aliens of third world countries to the rightful owners of the towns and states of America. Will he acknowledge that he would disenfranchise Americans, or is he too enamored with those who come here illegally? If he does not clearly announce that Americans in our country come first, and explain how he intends to deport the illegal aliens, I believe he may lose the election. Until he does, the status quo will remain:

Illegal Aliens are Very Special People.

With unemployment rising it’s insane to coddle illegal aliens. Every means should be used to encourage self-deportation starting with employer sanctions

McCain hasn’t changed: he’s still a “maverick.”

“Maverick” very apparently being a code word for “Complete Ass.”

The only thing that has changed recently is that someone has obviously prevailed upon him to pick a good VP candidate, instead of his first choice, his “good buddy” Joe Liberalman.

OK, so McCain is still worlds better than our Manchurian Candidate, B. Hussein Obama. That doesn’t mean we’re not going to have to fight him constantly on every issue of importance. He has openly said he doesn’t understand economics, and that’s not all he’s woefully ignorant about.

Most of the hispanics I've come across appear to like children, like driving big trucks, like the concept of home ownership even if it is a trailer, and love fishing on Saturdays. I'm kind of sentimental about flea markets, and so it was someone disappointed but still curious to discover that the last one I visited was run almost completely by hispanics. Walk in to a MacDonalds early in the morning for an egg macmuffin, and you'll probably see 4th or 4th generation American blue collars intermingled with hispanic blue collars, all of them trying to fit in breakfast or supper.

Bound to be a few gang-bangers among them, but the hispanics I meet seem like pretty normal people apart from the language barrier if there is one. Of course, I guess those ones must all be legal immigrants.

I haven’t observed Corker very much, but I’ve always had the impression that Alexander is a globalist, open borders type. How did Corker and Alexander finally vote on the cloture motions on the amnesty bill last summer?

Did they try to end debate, or did they vote against cloture and help temporarily kill the thing?

They were finally forced to vote against it...

Alexander filled in his time with amendments about English only and tried to look busy...

Both had interviews which are suspicious in nature and did not give a clear NO...

And Yes...

Alexander is a globalist...

Some of the public will never realize the impact of illegals on their lives including raising the cost of living of lower income citizens. I'm a long time bargain shopper and frequent thrift stores as well for a lot of my purchases. Now I am competing in those stores with illegals for almost all items. Anything from electronics to clothes. The stores on hand inventories is dropping even though donations are not. I spent all week end for example looking for a used TV to use for games. Two years ago there were plenty now it's a rare find. On any given day I see as many illegals in there as I do other shoppers. It's getting about the same even trying to pop in at a convenience store. I'll see several there any time of day or night. Most of them are buying beer and the clerks look very puzzled at the ID they produce. IOW it's not a Tennessee drivers licence or likely any other state even though they have a brand new Yukon SUV they drove up in and will likely never pay for either.

That's OK with the loan companies the loan companies bill the Suckers by increasing interest rates to recover the loss. besides the Fed will bail them out. Stooges in both parties will see to it. How many of the bank failures are directly related to bad loans to illegals? I bet the numbers are real high.

When stores even like Goodwill Industries are now aiming their sales at illegals making all promotional signs both in English and Spanish that pretty well spells it out. Illegal entry into this country is not a harmless act as everyone pays. The working middle class pays via higher taxes to support the social services illegals use and the poorer working and retired pay more because what was once second hand bargain stores have become about as costly as Big Box Marts.

Tennessee Nana and I live in the same congressional district. Our district is being over ran by illegals and so is the third district as well. Knox County is over ran as is Hamblen and Jefferson county too. The sad part is some are third generation now and still can barely speak English because their parents never required them to learn English. That is a major difference between them and the ones of years gone by who entered legally. They come here to be an extension of their previous nation using our programs but they never came here with intentions to be Americans. These freeloaders and Identity Stealers want the nations milk and honey services but are not sharing any of the responsibilities which what comes with it.

There are two sets of laws. One for them which is usually Get out of Jail Free or a deportation and they are back within a week and one set of law for us which is pay their way as well as our own.

We have got to hold McCain’s feet to the fire now while we have some leverage. If we wait until he gets in, he’ll do whatever he feels like and no one will be able to stop him.

It would be nice to have the illegals problem have simple parameters. It doesn't. The problems associated with the massive numbers of illegals in California, especially Southern California are far worse than the problems in Dalton, Georgia, or Montgomery, Alabama, two of the three cities where I have some experience with the illegals. Such aspects as gangs, drug culture, inflated prices in So. CA., etcetera, all play a part in what will happen if the U.S. Gov't passes law to expel all illegals, period.

In So. CA. there is likely to be very destructive and perhaps deadly rioting if the gov't were to try and forcefully export ALL illegals upon capture. And what happens in Arizona if law enforcement happens to arrest several thousand at one time to be dealt with for exportation? Will a few die in 'camps' being processed for deportation?

There is no easy way to fix a problem the democrat party has worked to create ever since Reagan granted amnesty to more than a million illegals and Ted 'the swimmer' Kennedy promptly canceled the border closing provisions Reagan negotiated. What will work to solve the problem?

First, the border must be made hugely less porous, with active, vigorous guarding of the border and prompt arrest and deportation for anyone caught trying to illegally cross into the US ... and if necessary, shoot threats to our border guards!

Accompanying the closing of the border, law must be strengthened and enforced to deal with employers who knowingly employ illegals and defraud the social security system--and there are several ways the system is abused by employers using illegals. Criminal charges must also come to the employers and those employed and defrauding. With absolutely deportation and registration into a tracking system to prevent this person ever repeating and if they do they are imprisoned, not deported on second infraction.

A system to register for green cards and/or road to citizenship must be established and enforced rigorously. Those seeking to become citizens must make a return to their own nation and register to apply, then they come back on a 'visa' program while being processed. The system for citizenship must be facilitated to speed it up and require English competency. The green/worker card must have an established limit and no more than three renewals, with switch to citizenship path only within the first green card period.

Folks will fuss that such provisions as above are amnesty. I don't care what anyone calls it, we have got to have a gradual solution with stepwise goals. Close the border to make it very difficult to break our immigration laws and protect our borders with force. Then, as phases of registration and processing happen, the mayhem could be minimized, though no one is so naive as to think there are not militant invaders who will seek to foment chaos where they can and riots will happen regardless of how the system is implemented because we now have a massive number of militant illegals in America who will seek to end this Republic if they are resisted in their efforts to take it over.

Frankly, we need an army of well trained riot police to deal with some of the fools we see cussing us and insulting our nation while they exploit our benefits. We have been invaded and a foothold of anarchists are already here. That's war, an invasion war. We have to deal with that forcefully but we must also deal with the myriad of human angles that are a part of the problem because of neglecting to efficiently export illegals for more than three decades.

It is a sure thing that under democrat controls the invasion war will not be dealt with the way conservatives would demand because democrats believe they can create yet another entitlement class of voters in illegals give amnesty. McCain has take the hint and stated closing the border first must start under his administration if elected. We will just have to remain noisy to get the other aspects instituted to end the invasion and settle the presence of millions of undocumented and shadow illegals in our midst.

Frankly, Nana, I don't think Alexander is able to comprehend that level of complexity, and Corker has shown no inclination to be decisive in ending the invasion and presence of undocumenteds. Good luck in D.C.

If you really want to become infuriated, Look at what is on McCain's website on Immigration and Border Security, especially the section on "Address the undocumented" and compare that with the GOP platform.

McCain is blatantly advocating an amnesty

"Address the Undocumented. John McCain will address the fact that we have a large number undocumented individuals living in the United States and working in our economy:

All undocumented individuals will be required to enroll in a program to resolve their status. This program will use background checks to identify criminal aliens for prosecution and deportation.

Assure that the remaining undocumented immigrants learn English, pay back taxes and fines, and pass a citizenship course as part of a path to legal status.

Guarantee that no person here illegally receives a green card before those that have been legally waiting outside the country.

Do a proper accounting of all social security numbers used and attained illegally, rectifying the accounts and alerting those whose identity had been compromised.

The program will also ensure that all undocumented aliens either leave or follow the path to legal residence. America cannot permit a permanent category of individuals that do not have recognized status – a permanent second class.

In addition, the program will provide a system that is fair, humane, realistic, and ensures the rights of the individual and families will be protected.

Ensure that families are reunited. Address in an expedited manner the status of individuals brought here illegally as minors through no will or intention of their own.

Eliminate the Family Backlog. John McCain will commit to clearing out the backlog of individuals that are waiting legally outside of the country, some for up to 20 years, for their green card number to become available."

This is an absolutely insane policy that will bring in tens of millions more into this country and act as encouragement for millions more to enter the country to take advantage of this upcoming amnesty or the next one.

None of them are illegals or sons of illegals. And unless someone can provide an more updated list of honorees, this story is Bull%hit propaganda to shame anti Amnesty opponents into submission.

Thanks for an excellent commentary and a heads up on looming congressional intentions. The public—including a lot of working Democrats—has been very clear in its overwhelming rejection of immigration “reform” and its insistence on border security. Federal action has, mostly, been so weak and counterproductive that state and local governments are now taking action to make their jurisdictions illegal unfriendly. As the wisdom of this spreads across the country illegals will either go home or be channelized into “sanctuary cities” where they will bankrupt municipal services.

Your comment about the “politically correct” party official reminded me of when I called Sen Alexander's office in 2004 recommending the Pentagon study the use of pork lard by Israeli security to deter terrorists from detonating bombs on buses. The woman I talked to basically said I was an insane bigot.

Dunno. I only researched "Metal of Honor", "Iraq" and got these four names. I then researched the background of these great patriots and posted the results.

As for ALL MoH honorees throughout it's beginning in the civil war to today, I am almost certain there will be more than a few migrants or sons of migrants. But since I was only interested in seeing if the "unnamed Republican high official" was telling the truth or trying a bull%hit argument for a bull%hit cause.

Correction:

Sgt. Rafael Peralta was been has been recommended for the Medal of Honor and is currently awaiting presidential approval. Peralta, 25 was born on April 7, 1979 in Mexico City, immigrated to the United States and joined the United States Marine Corps as soon as he had a green card. He later became an American citizen while serving in the Marine Corps.

As of 01/06/08 he is still an nominee(still looking for an update) He most likely will received it but he will received it as an American, not an illegal immigrant(he asked and recieved a green card and later became an American citizen) And by all accounts I read, a proud 100% American citizen, too. He was definitely a keeper.(http://www.qando.net/details.aspx?entry=7734)

Considering Peralta has yet been approved, it is a bit premature for the "unnamed Republican high official" to be berating fellow Tennesseans for opposing Illegal immigration using this case.

Folks will fuss that such provisions as above are amnesty.

Hell, yes, we will. As a southern Californian I'll take some of that "perhaps deadly rioting" rather than the end of my country. What kind of freaking losers are we?

From McCain's website:

Governors of border states will be required to certify that the border is secure.

Let's see... Schwartzenegger, Napolitano, Richardson, Perry. Oh yeah, that makes us feel a lot better. The same old "amnesty triggers" as last year plus approval by 2 Dems and 2 untrustworthy RINOs ("untrustworthy RINOs?" oops, that's a redundancy).

If the state legislatures had to "certify" the border was secure that would be better, but some of those guys could be corrupted too.

>>Personally, I called my Tennessee senators, Lamar Alexander and Bob Corker, and politely asked their office staff to inform them that I would like their vote to be NO. I continued to call once a day, every week day until I was confronted in public by a high ranking state party official who accused me in a loud and abusive voice that I was a “bigot” and I was “anti-immigration” and that I was bothering the senators with my constant calling, and I was to stop calling them immediately.<<

Some Obama people rang my doorbell yesterday, and I told them I would never vote for Obama. They, said, “Oh, you’re a Republican. We won’t bother you any more.”

I replied, “I wouldn’t call myself a Republican. I am more conservative than that.”

Bob Barr’s recent statements show that he is not really any better.

As parties, Rebublicans, Dems, Libertarians, all are determined to sell us out on immigration. Some individual members of those parties are OK.

The kind of persistence you show will be needed when amnesty threatens again. I thank you for your service and unselfish work for us all.

Excellent job Nana! It’s amazing so many Freepers are willing to be in lock step with a socialist like McCain and ignore his stance on amnesty for illegals as the socialist Democrats simply because he has an R after his name.

It is all a semantic smokescreen. McCain hasn’t changed his views on amnesty one bit.
