Democrats are not caring for their Stars and Stripes. At least that’s the message out of John McCain’s campaign.
McCain supporters, claiming they rescued 12,000 miniature American flags from the site of Barack Obama’s nomination acceptance speech last Thursday, redistributed the orphan flags to audience members ahead of a McCain rally in Colorado Springs on Saturday.
The move was an overt swipe at Obama from a campaign whose motto has been “country first.” But Democratic convention organizers claimed the flags were not going to be discarded — but instead were snatched from the site of Obama’s historic address to carry out a “cheap political stunt.”
McCain supporters said the flags were discovered by a vendor at Denver’s Invesco Field after the conclusion of the Democratic National Convention. The vendor supposedly found trash bags full of flags in and near garbage bins, and turned them over to the McCain campaign.
Boy Scouts were sorting through 84 bags of flags in Colorado on Saturday, before a McCain supporter had veterans distribute them to the audience.
“We want to find good homes for these flags,” radio host Dan Caplis said at the rally, adding that whatever flags remained would be placed at memorials throughout Colorado.
Audience members, who booed when Caplis announced that the flags were left in Denver, waved the flags and chanted “U.S.A” before McCain arrived at the rally with his running mate, Sarah Palin.
Damon Jones, spokesman for the Democratic National Convention Committee, released a statement saying McCain should applaud the fact that thousands of American flags were “proudly waved” at their convention.
“But instead his supporters wrongfully took leftover bundles of our flags from the stadium to play out a cheap political stunt calling into question our patriotism,” he said.

So has the Obama campaign asked for the return of the flags yet? You'd think they would be missed.
No one is calling the dimrats’ patriotism into question. They would have to actually have some to do that.
They should take all of those flags, put them on sale, and donate the proceeds to various organizations such as the Navy Relief Fund, etc.
I would pay $10 at least for one.
No they were not going to be discarded; at least until the garbage guys took the bags away..

Democrats only wave flags when cameras are on them. Kind of like Obama visiting injuried vets.
Let’s see,.. in trash bags, left by dumpter, somthing about the RATs response just doesn’t pass the smell test.
When one's words, deeds and associates are indistinguishable from those of the enemy who is trying to kill us, not only do I question that patriotism, I am compelled by my duty as a citizen to DISPUTE IT!
About 12,000 Colorado R's have them now (my family got 4) and we will tell that story every time they come out. They are in good hands.

Great idea. Pull a “Rush vs. Harry Reid” on them - $10 apiece with funds going to help families of servicemen killed serving their country. Let’s see the Obama campaign complain about that...

Sure they waved the flags madly for a photoop and fake patriotism! They waved them for NO OTHER REASON!
If they honored the Flags of Our Beloved Country, they would NOT HAVE LEFT THEM BEHIND IN THE TRASH!
They would have collected them and given them with Honor to Veterans and Boy Scout Groups to place at Memorials and Cemetaries!
The DEMORATS TRASHING THEM was NO DIFFERENT THAN OBAMA HOLDING HIS CROTCH DURING THE PLAYING OF THE NATIONAL ANTHEMN!

Hey, wait just a cotton-pickin minute—those flags were in clearly designated Global Relief receptacles for redistribution to other nations around the world too poor to purchase their own American flags to burn!

He is wrong; when it comes to the patriotism of liberal democRATs there is no question, they hate this country.
Say what you will about the Obama campaign people but the true disgrace were those scum in attendance in Denver who had so little regard for their country’s colors as to discard them like props after a movie shoot.
The democrats call their own patriotism into question by their actions. Such is life.
My guess is the White House Oval Office won't even have an American flag displayed if Obama occupies it. He'll have one of his own Obama flags with his own logo on it.

To today’s Democrat Party, the flag is something to be used until the TV Cameras go off, then tossed in the GARBAGE.
To Republicans, the flag is something that must be protected, and respected.
No greater contrast between the two mindsets exist.

So would I, if I had assurances that it was first cleansed by being flown or displayed a McCain/Palin rally. I don't think I'd want a DNC rally flag otherwise.
