CLAIRTON, Pa. - Five days a week, Linda Graham trolls tattered neighborhoods of this once thriving steel city outside Pittsburgh for unregistered voters she can sign up as Democrats — one of thousands of unknown volunteers whose work outside the limelight has already altered the basic arithmetic of the November election.
The epic nomination battle between Barack Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton helped put millions more Democrats on the voter rolls while Republican registration declined. Now Graham, 45, has taken three months of unpaid leave from her job at Pittsburgh's Central Blood Bank in the hope of adding to those gains before the presidential vote.

Yeah, but many of those people will vote for McCain/Palin. Just because you register Democrat doesn’t mean squat about how you’ll vote come election day.
Most of those “new” voters were operation “chaos” republicans. Think of the shock when these new “democrats”

I didn’t think of that! That could really hurt the ‘RAT “voter” registrations in the coming years.
Furthermore, as I recall from one election, isn’t it Dem voters who can’t figure out how to read or punch a ballot properly?
Unpaid leave? I seriously doubt it. How many of us could take unpaid leave for more than a few days? I would guess there may be some ACORN money floating around.
I know that probably everyone here is registered to vote. But the great interest in Gov. Palin has brought in a lot of people who were going to sit out this election. Well, the Democrats have gotten record numbers of people registered this year. We need to get to work!

I think Operation Chaos members need to start coming out in public and saying:
“I am a registered Democrat but I am going to vote for McCain”
They should then attach some inflamatory rationale such as:
1. Democrats treat women badly= look what they did to Hillary and Palin
2. Democrats support racist activities such as birth control and abortion
3. Democrats don’t care about our economic conditions, they want to increase our tax burdens and ship our energy jobs over seas
I am sure more sly phrases could be accumulated.
One thing I haven’t been able to reconcile in my mind is that I hear the polls yet wherever I go, I almost never see an Obama sticker or sign anywhere. What gives with this? Am I out of touch with something?
This woman is lying. She may have taken 3 months unpaid leave from her job, but she’s getting paid by somebody. The word volunteer isn’t in a liberal dictionary. They don’t do anything out of the goodness of their heart. I know a liberal couple that measures every favor by what it will do for them. BO keeps talking about gross unemployment so let’s hope that doofus’ employer gave her job away.

There is a disconnect between what is reported by the media and what is going on (I know, not news!). This morning I headed into a largely black neighborhood to do some grocery shopping (there is a chinese grocery store there with the best dumplings). How many Obama stickers did I see on the cars on the way over? One. That’s it. One. Not exactly what we’ve been fed by the media.
A lot depends upon where you live. I live in Oklahoma that is 60-70% McCain and there a lot of Obama stickers, house signs...etc. I think it might be because McCain has a sure win here most people just let it be...and we are not a state in play. Thank goodness I live in a state that votes McCain/REpublican!

They do this every 4 years and it never makes a bit of difference. The people they register are the ones who always have something else to do instead of vote on election day.
I really hope that Obama can be taken out cleanly because my sense is McCain will be inclined not to challenge a loss even if there is clear evidence of massive voter fraud. Obama worked for ACORN and was schooled in Saul Alinsky subversion methods. Even if McCain wins a decisive victory there’s still likely to be civil insurrection in the inner cities.
This is used to be a scenario where they would be registered but rarely went to vote. Now with so many states having early voting (Ohio) and the ability to keep track of those you register through technology (how hard it is to throw a name/address/phone number into a spreadsheet to call on election day) this group will turn out a little more reliably. The question is how strong is their support of Obama and can they be switched?

Could a 527 Group run ads reminding folks it is a felony to commit voter fraud around election time? Such an ad would NOT be political in nature, so it would be exempt, correct? Make it bi-lingual of course so we don’t leave out our non-English speaking friends.
