McCain-Palin Rally Rescues Hundreds of DNC Flags from Trash

Hundreds of flags that were discarded by the DNC and headed to the trash were rescued and are being given out today at the McCain-Palin Rally in CO.

It is unclear as to how the flags were discovered, some were reportedly discovered by a vendor by a dumpster. The flags were stuffed into dozens of black garbage bags and others were crammed into a supply closet awaiting disposal...Developing details...

Apparently, these were merely "props". "Props" that had served their purpose and were now to be discarded along with the styrofoam Greek columns.

I should have made it clear in the title...these are AMERICAN flags used by the DNC at their convention.

Libs HATE the flag - that's why they burn it so often. I am only surprised that so many of them were willing to hold them long enough for the cameras to capture that historic moment.

That tells me that deep down, these people know that the way they are behaving is wrong and that most Americans don't feel as they do - why else would they feel the need to pretend they are something that they are not (patriotic)?

Yes, I always carefully save things in the dumpster if I think I have a future use for them. ROTFLOL!

I saw pictures of this: the flags were crammed into black garbage bags and clear garbage bags, and were stuffed in the dumpster or lying beside it for trash pickup. Discovered by a vendor who called the local Boy Scouts, who came out, retrieved the flags, carefully smoothed them out and packaged them, and promptly called the RNC. God bless the Boy Scouts.

Brian Wilson is giving it lots of airtime and said this is really big!

It's really touching how as the flags are being handed out, people are being asked to take the flags home ONLY if they can give them a good home.

I love how people are being asked to do no less for one of these flags than what they would do if they rescued a homeless dog or cat.

Example: At work on Wednesday (pre-Sarah acceptance speech) one of my highly educated, urban, liberal co-workers stated that she just can’t vote for McCain now because he made a snap judgment by nominating Sarah without vetting her. I inquired as to the source of her information (inserting a sarcastic comment about the MSM). She got very ticked at me and changed the subject. It’s unclear exactly what Democratic convention organizers should have done with their used flags after Obama’s nomination acceptance speech.

Oh, for heaven's sake, how hard can it be? All they had to do was designate a couple dozen of their devoted admirers to take them to a veterans' cemetary and put them on the graves, or give them to the local VFW or American Legion.

I saw pictures of clear garbage bags containing a lot of small flags along with assorted trash...it kind of surprised me that more people didn't take the flags with them as souvenirs.

I wonder how the Republicans got the flags? The Pepsi Center is owned by a Republican, so he might have given the ones found there to the Republicans. Maybe the Republicans just went dumpster diving.

I turned on Fox and they mentioned they would be covering the ‘flag flap’ later in the show. Guess we will learn more later.
