McCain just shot up hugely in Tampa, look at this new poll from Survey USA.
In our latest poll out of Tampa for WFLA-TV, 52% of registered voters told us their opinion of John McCain went up after hearing his speech at the Republican National Convention last night. 18% say their opinion of McCain went down while 30% say their opinion of McCain stayed the same.

In our latest poll out of Tampa for WFLA-TV, 52% of registered voters told us their opinion of John McCain went up after hearing his speech at the Republican National Convention last night. 18% say their opinion of McCain went down while 30% say their opinion of McCain stayed the same.
We asked voters who heard the speeches by both McCain and Obama to tell us who would do a better job with certain issues. Here is what they told us:
* Who has the better plan for Iraq? McCain * For energy independence? McCain * For Health care? McCain * Who is stronger on the environment? McCain * On education? McCain
And if Tampa voters were placing a bet today on who will be elected our next President? You guessed it they put their money on McCain.
Holy Mary thats a huge Swing, Florida is in the bag.
I live in Tampa. Palin country. I just hope they keep the hildebeast down in Miami where she belongs. We do not want her around here.
So that begs the question (that I bet wasn’t asked) what do they think OBAMA might be strong on?
Don’t count FL in the bag just yet. 60 days in politics is an eternity.
Sorry, Monday night is screwed:
She will headline a "Change We Need" rally to be held at the All Peoples Life Center 6105 E. Sligh Ave, in Tampa. The doors open at 5 p.m.
Reading from a teleprompter and not punishing his daughters with babies. His wife is so proud of him.
His style is to talk to you rather than make a speech in front of you. That may not look good on the "World Stage" but it can connect with people.
I do know the GOP has reinforcements on the way, and if all goes according to the plan that was channeled to me via tin-foil wrappped blackberry from Rove, we're a step and a half ahead of Team nObamaBinBiden.
And half the country is willing to vote for him. Scary.
I agree that we Floridian conservatives should not become overly confident. We still have a need to get more conservative voters registered.
I would like to see how the Orlando area is doing.
It would also be nice to see some results from Miami-Ft Lauderdale as well. If McCain stays even with Obama in the Miami-FT Lauderdale area, then McCain/Palin is looking good in Florida.
Florida had been waffling, but I think Florida will go red along with several other states who are on the fence.
Florida is in the bag.As is Ohio, Virginia, and Colorado.
Yeah, Palin was supposed to be in Tampa on Monday at the Convention Center, but when I read Hillary was also going to be here, I realized that’s why they cancelled Palin (plus the fact that her kid leaves for Iraq on the 11th and I think she’s going to Alaska to spend some time with him before he ships out.)
Bambi quit running ads down here a few weeks ago and people are glad.
He ran 10 million dollars of ads, McCain ran -0-, and McCain became the front runner.
What's your thinking here?
Wow, Barry might as well go home if he's behind on his pet communist issue
18 percent lied about seeing it.
No wonder he doesnt believe in giving his kids presents on their Birthday or Christmas
I doubt Hillary will be in Florida next week. Hurricane Ike will be.
Hardcore Muslims don’t give gifts on christmas or birthdays because they are forbidden to do so!!
Well, just logistically, you have two campaigns in town on the same day, that’s hard for the local government.
But do we want to compete in audience? Maybe some Hillary supporters might come out to hear Palin, so why not give them the chance. I think the Hillary date was made after the Palin date, but strategically, I thought it was a good move to cancel Palin.
Why make it a competition between Hillary and Palin when it’s not. I’m sure Obama dispatched Hillary to Tampa on that particular day to cut into Palin’s crowds, so why not just reschedule and have it at a time when Palin gets the spotlight to herself.
Oblack wanting to send Mrs clinton to FL tells you they are not liking their polling. Give the Mav credit, he is running a brilliant campaign.
Pray for W, McCuda and Our Troops
Obama has just set up a campaign headquarters in our SE PA suburb. I parked in front of it the other day with my McCain bumper sticker and just watched for about 10 minutes. The place frankly looked a bit ratty, with hand-written signs in the window, and that haughty poster of Obama in the window (the one where he looks like Mussolini). I didn't see a single person go in or out of the HQ during that time.
I'm not seeing a lot of Obama signs in yards, and more McCain signs are popping up. I'm reading this as a positive development. There have been a lot of Gore, Kerry and Clinton signs in the past. Our community has a lot of Jewish families who usually trend Democrat.
The Obama signs along our stretch of road recently disappeared. While we were on vacation, some prankster put 3 Obama signs in front of our house, trying to block our McCain signs. When we got home, one was barely standing, and the other two were flat on the ground with wires broken. I don't know whether it was due to the hard ground, or a friendly neighbor who mashed the offending signs. In any case, I suspect the Obama signs were stolen from down the street, and we of course threw them in the trash. The haven't been replaced in a week. Good indicators, on the whole, from our swing county in a swing state.
Well, the Clintons already made known their opinion of Obama’s candidacy.
I met the mayor a few months ago when he addressed a group of business students and young business professionals. I thought he sounded much like a Republican when he talked about his plans for the city. His approaches to policing and rebuilding Philadelphia made a lot of sense to me, and I was quite impressed with him, especially considering his recent predecessors. That said, I disagree with him strongly in his position on the Boy and their Philadelphia headquarters. My husband has tried to talk to him about it, and he appears to be completely unreachable on the topic. On the whole, I'd have to say Mayor Nutter is probably going to be a big improvement for Philadelphia, but we clearly differ on the subject of presidential politics!
It would be nice to have a couple of hundred people over there to greet Hillary with chants of Sar-ah!Sar-ah! Sar-ah!
