South Florida-Palin is Coming to Us! Also some news on how to help get out OUR vote(Vanity)
9/04/08 | vanity

Posted on 09/04/2008 6:05:47 PM PDT by lovesdogs

Hurray! Sarah will come to Palm Beach County and Miami soon! I just confirmed it with my local volunteer coordinator, dates TBA.

Also, I was encouraged to go to the Supervisor of Elections office and get tons of voter registration forms for distributions to Catholic churches (please ask nicely and be respectful about asking to place them)

But I was also cautioned about ABSENTEE REQUEST FORMS. The Fl ballot is going to be big and heavy this year. It may require up to $6.00 postage due to new postal rules about overall size. So if you do drop these off and people get the ballots, they may mail the completed ballot only to get it back for insufficient postage.

We will want to encourage early voting instead. If friendlies are not able to get the polls, please either help them, or take their info and provide it to coordinators in your local RNC offices.

You might get a lot of stuff in the voting materials info you get, but I can’t imagine the ballot itself costing much to mail back.

And in many states, the postage is paid by the government.

ping to Florida list, please. $6 absentee ballot could be a big problem. I hope the RPoF has a plan ‘cause you know the community organizers do.

Sarah will also be in Tampa on Monday the 8th as Julie posted on the Florida board:
seekthetruth & FL Freepers....

You are invited to meet Sarah Palin:

TAMPA BAY WELCOMES GOVERNOR PALIN THE NEXT VICE-PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES!

Monday, September 8, 2008 3:00 pm Tampa Bay Convention Center

No tickets needed, everyone invited! Bring your friends!

I wonder, though, after last night's speech if it will still be no tickets. Better get there early 'cause there just might be a crowd. :)

I am fairly new here. Can you help me out on how to set up a “ping list”?

I really want to do all I can. Becky (my coordinator) told me that we have to get over 50% RV Rep turnout in Broward. So 65% is my goal. But I am a little green on FReeper techspeak.

Thanks for the help.

Hi still working on that ping list thing. But RV= registered voter. To phase it a little better, Broward Co needs better than 50% of registered Republicans to vote in order to counter the expected large “Demon”crat turnout.

Broward County GOP:

Republican Party of Broward County
150 South Andrews Avenue
Suite 370
Pompano Beach, Florida 33069

Telephone: 954.941.7775

Call them, ask them where their local offices are. I know they have local offices all over the county. Or, you can go to the one in Pompano Beach. They have call lists (you call Republicans and remind them to vote) or you can walk a neighborhood and hang stuff, they have all sorts of jobs for grass roots people.

I did it in 2000, 2004, and 2006. Feels good to make a difference.

Florida Freepers:

Get out those PALIN! Signs and also those huge "NO AMNESTY!" and "BUILD THE FENCE!" signs they can see from 400 yards away.

Let us support her and also get the word out about the new turn the GOP made with the 2008 Platform on Illegal Immmigration, a no-lose issue for us this year. 80-90% of Americans opposed to socialist Obama's position. Sarah can also hit this one out the park and make them ALL look like fools. Country First!!

RE: your tag line. Are we still trying to find out her position on this issue?

I would certainly hope that if we are, someone would take the very first opportunity to make certain she answers specific questions on both issues (i.e., defining amnesty and effectively secured borders) (effectively, NOT to be determined by border governors).

But frankly, I'd be very surprised if her position differs from McShamnesty's.

Yes, we still want answers, don't we? I don't have them yet.Gov. Palin and her RNC professional handlers assigned to her cannot avoid it (ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION) for the next two months, because more possible than not ANOTHER Comprehensive Amnesty bill will come up in the Senate in 2009 or 2010, and she could very likely be a tie breaker. OK, so how does she vote? John McCain's way, or the 2008 GOP Platform way?

And they cannot afford to have it exempt from so many Republican talking points, or just vaguely talk about Gods Children or Latina daughters when pressed on the issue out in the political hustings talking to Joe Citizen. We want to know about.....theft of social security numbers, massive illegals in LA's jails, burgeoning public welfare costs, hospital closings, anchor babies, rampant gangs and drug wars on US turn, Mexican interference in US political issues, the progress of the wall, sanctuary cities and federal funds, the WHOLE LOT OF US. Let us ask Sarah. If she has any town hall forums, why, lets some of us go and ask her. I am sure she has thoughts on it, she did not have time or with the Bush speechwriters the other night to touch on it, but we have plenty of time to ask Gov. Palin and get things clear on where she stands. Right now, I have asked tons of people and EVERYONE IS DRAWING A BLANK.

They need her to hit the I-4 corridor from Tampa to Orlando. That area is absolutely critical for wins the state.

“The Monday Tampa Sarah Palin event has been rescheduled. Stay tuned. I will post on new day and time.”

Where did you hear this? I have spread the word about it to friends who might be taking a day from work to go. Hate to have them do that and then find out the rally is not to be!! Are you SURE it is canceled?

PLEASE PING ME when you find out when Sarah’s appearance will be and where it will be. Thanks!

Thanks for the info about the event being postponed. I notified all my family and friends that I had told about it so they won’t take a day from work to go.

Perhaps it was canceled due to Florida being most likely a McCain win, or because Hillary is to appear in Tampa tomorrow. Who knows.

Do hope I get to actually go to a McCain/Palin event!:)

I would not be good to be campaigning when a Hurricane is going to hit part of the state.

De Nada ... I don't know about the Tampa venue but perhaps after they experienced the first few mega-turnouts they had to rethink the plan. That plus the uncertainty of Ike's path at the time of postponement. Better to have an event where there is no chance of last minute cancellation than try to stick with it and perhaps lose a day or two.

I hope Sarah comes to Melbourne airport or the Space Coast stadium (both places GWB came to). Even to KSC at Cape Canaveral. Something tells me the bunny suit will look a lot better on her. :)
