Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick has pleaded guilty to felony charges in Wayne County Circuit Court. He will be forced to resign immediately.

Can't he appeal that, plus losing his law license? If so, perhaps he'll get one or both back somewhere down the road. I'd hate to see that, but you know how the system is when it comes to catering to scumbags.

Kwame has two weeks to remain mayor under the plea deal. He’ll supposedly work with incoming Cockrel (Sheila Cockrel’s stepson) during those two weeks to smooth the transition.
This ain’t over, folks. During the hearing Kwame was shaking his head and muttering “I did’t do it.” He STILL believes he’s the one wronged and there’s a lot of anger swaggering around in his bulky frame, looking for an outlet. Ask the police officers trying to serve Ferguson with a subponea. There’s a lot of damage Kwame can do before the cuffs are slapped on him.

The article showed the pair lied under oath when they testified in a police whistle-blower trial last year that they did not have an intimate relationship. They also gave misleading testimony about the firing of a top police official, Gary Brown. Nelthrope was another cop who sued with Brown, both alleging their careers were ruined because of their involvement in an internal affairs investigation that could have led to the discovery of extramarital philandering by Kilpatrick.
Worthy cited the Free Press investigation in March, when she charged Kilpatrick with eight felonies and Beatty with seven. The charges included perjury, conspiracy, obstruction of justice and misconduct in office.
For this he gets 4 months??? and the no contest to felonius assault???

Kwami should not have conducted an affair at work. That was his biggest mistake, but then, its all to the good.
His squeeze Christine Beatty made him enemies that would not give up.
Kevin James, on his radio show, just played an audio bite of Obama praising Kwame, and saying how he looks forward to a long future working with him. He said he’s looking forward to Kwame doing astonishing things. (Not verbatim.)
Another unholy union he can add to Ayers, Rev. Wright, et al. He’s not real good at choosing his associates.
