Just called US Weekly - Sarah Palin

Posted on 09/03/2008 8:27:12 AM PDT by SouthernChick1

First of all, I urge everyone to please VOTE in this poll. Will Bristol's pregnancy affect your vote.

http://www.usmagazine.com/

Also, I am new to this board, but just wanted to tell everyone that I called and cancelled my subscription to US Weekly,. I also told them I wanted to leave an editorial comment, and they passed on what I had to say to their editors.

To complain about this cover story, call them toll-free: 1-800-283-3956

We cannot let this go. This is gutter journalism, and of course, they didn't see need to spread any vicious lies about Palin like they did Obama. Hypocrites!

Thank you for the number, and I urge everyone to call. We need to rally like those RATS do when they want to be heard.

I’m calling.

IIRC, Us Weekly is owned by Jann Wenner, owner of Rolling Stone and a major league Obama supporter.

You just reward them by clicking on their link and voting in their poll. Next week they will have you voting in a new poll on whether Bristol’s baby is a space alien.

Ignore, ignore, ignore!

And of course drill, drill, drill!

Someone suggested earlier that we complain they are ‘using’ a Down’s Syndrome Baby to sell magazines. That way it doesn’t appear as politically motivated.

Be sure to mention that the abusing ex-husband is still employed and was not fired.

That false headline is grounds for a libel suit by the Palins against this perverted rag.

The more exposure, will result in the more people listening to her speech tonight.

I hope that she addresses this issue head on, not personally, but speaking for the current phenomenon of teenage pregnancies among the so called role models out there, like Britney Spears and sister...etc.

Roger and WILCO. God bless you and all others who are willing to stand! AMERICA is calling!

I believe that the more the MSM and other DNC pundits like NOW and others instigate these tactics against the Palin's, the more the public will be made aware of them, check them out for themselves, and then be drawn to the Palin's side.

...and the worse and worse it will reflect on the instigators who are digging their own political graves.

We need to each stand and help those graves be filled in and covered over.

I just called them. The woman there was very nice and told me she would pass my comments on to the editors. I was nice in return and let her know how awful and unfair the Palin issue is and that it is a disgrace for a mainstream magazine to publish it. I told her I find it ironic that the National Enquirer is passed off as just a rag full of lies, enough so that the MSM wouldn’t believe the Edwards story without proof, yet this story is nothing but personal insult, slander and lies and you have no problem publishing it.

Welcome to FR! Unfortunately their cover story will bring in more readers, mostly young kids or those either ignorant in politics or Obama lovers. They knew exactly what they were doing before they went to press and they are receiving the publicity they had planned on. I hope everyone upset with them cancels their subscription but I doubt this will happen.

I just called and lit them up. I don’t recommend the email, they will just delete it. But calling ties up every bit of their resources and gets the message across big time.

Since we get our info from the media, we need to know they can be trusted. They missed one so I e-mailed CNN with this news tip. Maybe I need to call it in.

Campbell Brown IN 1999, HER FATHER JAMES H “JIM” BROWN JR. WAS INDICTED FOR LYING TO THE FBI during a routine investigation, served time in a Federal prison, and resigned his post. [7]

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

[edit] Early life
Brown was born Alma Dale Campbell Brown in Ferriday, Louisiana, the daughter of former Louisiana Democratic State Senator, Secretary of State, and Insurance Commissioner James H. “Jim” Brown Jr., and Brown’s first wife, artist Dale Campbell Brown. Dale later married William R. Fairbanks and Jim later married Gladys Solomon with whom he has a son.[2] Brown explains her name by stating “Alma Dale” was her grandmother’s name, while “Campbell” was her mother’s birth surname.[3]

[edit] Personal life

IN 1999, HER FATHER JAMES H “JIM” BROWN JR. WAS INDICTED FOR LYING TO THE FBI during a routine investigation, served time in a Federal prison, and resigned his post. [7]

On April 2, 2006, Brown married her second husband Daniel Samuel Senor (born 1971), a Republican consultant who regularly appears on Fox News.[8][9] Brown converted to Judaism, her husband’s faith;[10] the two were married in an Orthodox Jewish ceremony.[11]

On June 24, 2007, Brown announced on Weekend Today that she and her husband were expecting their first child.[12] On December 18, Brown gave birth to a son, Eli James Senor, named after his grandfather, James Senor.

Her first marriage was to Peregrine “Pere” Roberts, President of TSC Realty in Bethesda, MD.[13][citation needed]

Maybe I need to call it in.

The question is badly worded.

It is, would this (the revelation that Bristol Palin is 17 and pregnant) change your opinion about Sarah Palin?

Of course, the majority would vote “no”. If they ALREADY did not like Sarah Palin, or if they really do like her, no opinion would be changed. By saying your opinion wold be changed on learning that Sarah Palin had a teenaged daughter who was pregnant, that would brand the person as either woefully shallow, or dreadfully uninformed.

Good grief. I would be amazed if the people at the phone number are even in the same state as the editors. Editors don’t talk to the circulation and admin peons, and circulation and admin peons certainly don’t get to talk to editors. No, the thing to do is figure out what companies bought the most prominent double-truck (across two pages) ads (I don’t know, I’ve never even seen that magazine) and note who their advertisers are. I concur that the beef should be about using a Down’s syndome child to sell magazines. Do baby products advertisers buy space in their mag?

There is a lot of crap flying around about this women. She has added so much excitement and support to the GOP.
I think when the dust settles Palin will have unbelievable support. She will have a huge crowd watching tonight.
I hope we can give her the support on forums, c-span and support for the ticket, that she deserves.

I have NO idea why I had a subscription to that vile magazine in the first place. But I told them I was using my refund (and they said they WOULD give me a refund) and donating it to McCain/Palin. And I have never donated to a political campaign before in my life!

This is vile and disgusting. I will also be calling my local WalMart, Target, Walgreens, and Kroger (Arkansas) and urging them not to put this magazine out on the stands.

I truly hope there is a public backlash against the media. It is time for us the men of freedom to stand up.

We have withstood a hundred years of liberal/Marxist propaganda without doing anything. Will we let Democrats/Socialists destroy our country,America?

We saved freedom by defeating tyranny many times before, Islam in Poitiers France where we turned back the Islamic invasion, the mighty British Empire in the American Revolution. Now we face an internal threat the evil of Marxism disguised as “liberalism” or progressivism.

Now liberals/Democrats/Marxists viciously and unfairly attack and slander our women (Palin) and children 24/7 all over the media. Will we continue to watch and stand by or will we do what men do?

I've also decided to FIGHT BACK and dump the Sacto. Bee, because of their one-sided crap I've gotten tired of reading.

The Republicans make a 1st time historic vice presidential pick and their headlines read: "Republicans Bet on a Long Shot"!

Other headlines pertaining to her pick included: "Small-Town Mayor", "High Risk", "Opposed to Abortion", "Global-Warming Skeptic" and they made sure to include a BONUS article on her "Troopergate" as they put it in the headlines. WOW! They definitely are unbiased, aren't they?

Those losers are TOAST!

I called them too. I read this magazine occasionally, but I assured her I would not be reading it again.

I told her I was outraged that Michelle O’Drama got a “puff piece” and Sarah Palin got a “hatchet job”.

She asked if I had actually read the story, because Sarah Palin’s story highlights were just a cover teaser. I asked if she had bother to read it; I explained that the piece glanced off Palin’s achievements and focused on allegation, rumor and induendos, while michelle’s piece gloss over her deeds, words and associations, while concentrating on how wonderful she is!

I asked the woman if she believed we independent woman were idiots and going to swallow this junk whole?

I told her the more stories like this that are published, the closer truly independent women will inch toward McCain/Palin.

I told her that journalism is dead thanks to rags like US!

I am so pissed off I could spit.
