14. Consider proposed Ordinance passing and adopting The International Property Maintenance Code, 2006 Edition
So?
And?
I don’t think that means what you think it means...
Perhaps this would be useful for Waxahachie if the feds ever decide to build the Superconducting Super Collider again.
I’m aware of what it means. I HAVE looked into it. I just find it interesting, thats all.
2006 International Property Maintenance Code
The 2006 International Property Maintenance Code provides requirements for continued use and maintenance of plumbing, mechanical, electrical and fire protection systems in existing residential and nonresidential structures. It regulates and governs the conditions and maintenance of all property, buildings and structures, and provides standards for conditions essential to ensure that structures are safe, sanitary and fit for occupation and use. It also provides regulations governing the condemnation of buildings and structures unfit for human occupancy and use, and the demolition of such existing structures. The provisions of the 2006 International Property Maintenance Code apply to all existing residential and nonresidential structures and all existing premises. The provisions constitute minimum requirements and standards for premises, structures, equipment and facilities for:
Contents
- Light, ventilation, space heating, sanitation, protection from the elements, life safety, safety from fire and other hazards, and for safe and sanitary maintenance.
- The determination and assignment of responsibility for code compliance amongst the owners, operators and occupants.
- Regulating the use of existing dwellings through the establishment of occupancy limitations.
- Code administration, enforcement and penalties.

Commentaries and handbooks, study guides, extended indexes and tabs are also available for the 2006 International Codes.
Does it also include GREEN aspects of building?
I don’t get what the problem is. That it has the word “international” in it? Your city and state most likely adopted the “I” Codes years ago, including the International Building Code, International Mechanical Code, International Plumbing Code, International Residential Code, etc, etc.

You will live and work in the structures your betters plan for you.
Why shouldn’t the planners, planning the plan, plan your plans?
All your buildings are belong to us.
Nice little airport there
Don’t know what this means offhand, but I did live in Waxahachie for 8 years, in a 1905 house we restored. It was on the Gingerbread Trail home tour one year. Gorgeous little town, and well worth a day trip if you’re near Dallas. Waxahachie has, I believe, the biggest collection of Victorian homes still standing in any town in Texas. If this code applies to existing structures, I don’t know how it’s going to jibe with that.
Is this part of the North American Union? Will the citizens of Wax have to pay taxes to the UN?
Where did I say there was a problem? Sheesh.
No and No
Waxahachie has had it in for me...
ever since I produced the "Miss Waxahachie Beauty Pageant" for an A in TV Production 301 at dear old North Texas State in 1969!
Gadzooks, you'd thing they would cut me some slack...
as I even used Vic Donovan as host and he was gingerbread born and bred in Waxahachie proper!
Well, to heck with Waxahachie! Let's...
party on!
BTW "Waxahachie" is an old Indian saying meaning "You put ear to ground right into Buffalo dung but keep on smiling."

Of course I was only joking, but there many who think that ISO certification is part of the plot, and thus, this international certification would also be part of the plot.
So, is this for professional maintenance of property (plumbers, electricians, and so on), or are all residents required to abide by this code?
As I understand it, it also applies to residential homeowners.
Your: Would there be any copies of that tape floating about, perchance?
Sadly, no, AAC...
Gary Brown ran Master Control back in those days and it was really a tight ship. Then soon afterward, Gary invented an electronic whatknot and got a bizillion bucks for it. Last I heard he was still counting the big bills. Master Control went downhill quick.
However, I do still have a picture of the runner up...
and if she had had a drink or nine with me, she might have won!
