There are millions of PUMAs AND they are well organized.

Interlinking national blogs.

Puma.org

I read what happened inside the Dem convention. A real eye opener. Obama is indeed a fascist in the way he seized control of the Dem party.

With the way the Obama muckrakers are treating Palin's daughter, the exodus to McCain will only speed up.

There are about 18 millon of them. Thats NOT chump change. Obama has lost them.

They hate Obama with a fervor you would not believe.

"Here’s probably 10-20 million (minimum) of PUMAs."

if that is true.. this campaign is over before it started.

If it is true will they go back to the democrat party even know they now learned the hard way they have been scammed? Or is the democrat party severely weakened?

McCain loves America and Palin is HONEST and these are good qualities to lead. I got this quote from a comment to the article above as a reason why one of the Hillary supporters is switching. I thought it fit.

"Obama is indeed a fascist in the way he seized control of the Dem party."

Obama is a communist(base on Marx) not a fascist(base on Trotsky), I know they are both left wing but there is a difference.

But where did you read the article about how he took over the party? i would like to read that.

One of those unhappy with the nominee is Van Susteren’s husband, John P. Coale, who was a Clinton fundraiser. He has announced his support for McCain.

Actually, the numbers openly stating that they will vote for McCain has increased dramaitcally because of Palin...who is much more conservative and in many ways the antithesis of what these people say they believe in.

Some points to consider about McCain's selection of Palin. Presidential candidates chose a VP running mate who will agree with Presidential running mate on a majority of the issues. A Presidential candidate will not pick someone who takes an opposing viewpoint on most issues otherwise they would be frequently butting heads and that would be bad for party unity.

Throughout McCain's 26 year political career McCain has repeatedly voted with the socialists Democrats on many issues. He's even gone as far to sponsor legislation with at least three socialist Democrats (Kennedy, Lieberman and Feingold)supporting amnesty for illegal aliens, human induced global warming(The GOP just adopted that as one of their planks) and restricting free speech under the guise of campaign finance reform respectively. In order for Palin to be on his ticket she, like any other VP running mate must have agreed to support McCain on at least most of the very issues he voted with the socialist Democrats.

The question then becomes just how conservative is or was Palin. If she was conservative prior to being selected then she had to sacrifice most of her principles to be on the ticket. If she was the antithesis of McCain then she is no longer.

Many keep deluding themselves that somehow a relative newcomer to national politics is going to somehow magically convert McCain after being a socialist for the last 26 years to becoming a conservative in the final two months before the election. That is wishful thinking.

McCain is certainly far from any conservative ideal, but there are some issues he holds ground with us on, and his pick of Palin has to be acknowledged.

He's not even close to being a conservative if you look closely at his record:

1982/00/00 McCain enters Congress, with his family accepts first of nine trips some aboard Keating's leer jet, three of which include stayovers at Keating's Caribbean resort (goes unreported for up to 7 years)
1983/09/28 McCain joins 26 other Republicans to vote with the Majority Party Congressional Democrats to demand U.S. Troops exit Lebanon, winds up on the losing

1993/10/10 McCain co-sponsors an unsuccessful bill to cut off funding of United States troops in Somalia
1993/08/10 McCain joins the Democrats and most Republicans voting to confirm Ruth Bader Ginsberg, the worst justice on the court today. Three Republicans vote Nay.
1993/01/13 McCain and Kerry release the Select Committee report urging the MIA issue be put to rest so that Vietnam could be granted normalized relations with the U.S., over objections by MIA family and veterans groups. Video1 Video2 ( I do not endorse all of the information presented in video1 here. The video does touch on a number of topics, and I think most are germane ) If I could have found video that contained most of this information without touching on McCain's POW experience I would have posted it instead. Still, there are parts of McCain's POW experience that are troubling. I'd just rather not go there. Video2 shows how one MIA family rep is treated, confirming some of the reports in Video1.
1994/07/24 McCain joins with the Democrats to confirm nominee Stephen Breyer to be an Associate Justice on the SCOTUS. Nine Senators voted Nay...
1997/00/00 McCain leads the opposition to the Coats Amendment, preventing government funded fetal tissue research ( derived from "a legal act" [abortion] ) Amendment defeated!

2008/03/24 McCain hires Meg Whiteman to cochair his Presidential campaign. She is leaning toward running for Governor in California and being courted by it's Republican leadership. Links to CalCowGirl's comments regarding Whiteman's donations. Article above.

2008/06/21 McCain and team realize he has so little credibility on judicial appointments, that they announce he will let Fred Thompson vet his judges. That's 06/21/08's version of truth...
2008/06/28 McCain declares, "I will make comprehensive immigration reform my “top priority,” during my first 100 days in office. He assures Latino leaders that they will have an ally in the White House.

It was a very good move and does put a very conservative individual on the ticket a heart beat away from the presidency.

If that is true then it is also an admission a conservative will not be in the oval office should McCain become President. The question then is but what logical thought process can be rationalized by putting a socialist in the White house somehow will advance the conservative cause? The answer is it won't. Many people in the GOP are under the misguided notion to appease socialist now because conservatives can always reclaim power in the future.

The irony is the socialist never have and never will subscribe to such flawed thinking. They plan for the present while the GOP keeps planning only for the future and the result is a socialist Democrat controlled Congress.

Having checked out some of these PUMA sites from posts here on FR that have provided links I’m not convinced all these PUMAs are socialists. Many strike me more as Reagan Democrats rather than kool-aid drunk leftists.

Hitlery is a staunch socialist. It stands to reason any ardent supporter of Hitlery is also a socialist. There is no possible way any supporter of her's could be even close to being a conservative.

Perhaps Hillary is a socialist but Obama is definitely a freedom squashing communist. His thuggery tactics stole her votes in the caucases and his hacks went after Howard Kurtz because he examined the Ayers/Obama connection.

I have to believe that, behind the scenes, the Clintons are fueling the PUMA fire. The ONLY way Hillary gets a shot in 2012 is if Obama loses. He not only needs to lose, but must lose BIG. A marginal loss (aka, Florida in 2000) and he will be back in 2012 for a rematch.

From what I’ve read the game plan is to get McCain/Palin elected. They trust that these two will keep the country safe. During those 4 years they hope to get the party back in shape. They want to vote out anyone who helped Obama strongarm the DNC. They want Pelosi, Dean, and Reid gone! The also want the press taken to task for the bias they have shown for the Obama machine. In 2012 they want a fair race between Palin and Clinton. They’ve also realized that the Democratic party has been holding Roe vs Wade over there heads and are fed up with their games.

I am not a supporter of McCain but I can't for the life of me see where he is a Socialist.

I disagree with him on “illegasl aliens” and strongly against the McCain Fiengold Bill.

But even when he voted against the tax decrease, he tried to get the spending cut that should have been in the bill. There were so many earmarks that the spending turned out to be more than the increase of revenue.

He also is against earmarks, not against taxes for roads, schools etc.

If he has been for the spending for some of these entitlements I really would like to know when and what they were and how he voted. I can easily be anti McCain.

Not trying to be argumentative just would like to see what I evidently haven't paid much attention to. I will vote agaionst Obama regardless, but would like to know more about McCains voting record.
