I like Sarah Palin...but I fear this might not play out as well among Independents as it does on FR.
Allow me to reassure you, my wife is my guide post on such things. She's a registered independent and HATES politics. She spent ALL day looking up stuff on the Internet about Sarah Palin. She is unbelievable excited about this and I can not image that she's alone.
Independents (and I generally support Independent candidates) will have to decide whether or not they want McCain/Palin in the Oval Office or ......well.......you know.

Well, energizing a base which was lackluster about the ticket at best is a good start. This is the first time I’ve felt truly excited about this ticket, and at work today a lot of people were nearly jumping up and down after the news came out and said much the same - that they were finally excited about the election. Something has really changed out there as far as the attitude among the base that is needed for GOTV efforts, etc. - and that is vital.
