Mike Huckabee: Sarah Palin
huckpac ^ | Mike Huckabee

Posted on 08/29/2008 3:37:26 PM PDT by flyfree

Sarah Palin is a pleasant surprise for those of us who had hoped that Senator McCain would pick a principled and authentic conservative pro-life leader. Sarah Palin is both principled and authentic. As a Governor, she also brings an important balance of understanding of the critical domestic issues that is needed and that the Democrats have ignored with their ticket. Governor Palin is smart, authentic, tough, and a dynamic choice that will remind women that they are not welcome on the Democrat’s ticket, they have a place with Republicans.

I’m hoping he and his band perform again at our quadrennial Free Republic Inaugural Ball! Hey, President McCain will probably be busy that night, but maybe we could get Sarah and the First Dude to drop by for a dance. Heck, we like her a lot more than McCain anyway.

You're right. That seems to be all this irrelevant Bozo cared about.

But she's a good pick anyway.

Romney will probably get called on for a cabinet post. Hucksterbee might get called as court jester.

Romney’s LDS faith would have been a huge downside for the ticket. Like it, or not!

As an added bonus, she has a brand-new baby! Who doesn’t love a baby? Less than five months later and she’s ready to tackle running for VP of America? Wow!

And that husband! A manly-man! Twenty years and counting. He’s one lucky guy and so are we! :)

Just who is the "we" you refer to? Mormons? I guess EV's are Evangelicals. Yes-No?

FReepers seem to be supporting the choice of Sarah Palin. That means pro-life conservatives support Sarah Palin.

What is YOUR problem?

I AM an Evangelical Bible believing Christian man. I am just disgusted by the out and out bigotry of my fellow Christians towards Mormons. I really hoped that my contemporarys were better than that and I believe that most are, it’s just the loudmouths that get heard most.

Intolerance is a frame of mind. I really don't anyone who is not a bigot to one extent or another.

OTOH, we're all entitled to our own opinions. After all, that's what America is all about.

I fail to see how her being or not being LDS, Evangelical or Mormon is a station qualifier. I guess it just goes to show what was really at the top of Huckabee’s agenda and the bigotry that he very subtly shot Romney’s way that was from time to time echoed here. This statement however does not mean that all the LDS posters here need to backlash for we know what type of man Huckabee really is. A ringleader loser who won’t leave it alone and who was successful in finding the divisive issue within the Conservatives and exploiting it for his own perceived gains.

I support the proposition that Americans are free to think and believe as they choose. In that regard, there are major differences between conservatives and liberals. The latter tends to assume the mantle of political correctness. Those of us on the rightwing tend to oppose PC.

How about you?

If people don't support Obama they are a racist...if people don't support Romney they are bigots...sigh. Does it not occur to people that besides the handful of die hard supporters on both sides that many of us look at what a candidate has or hasn't voted for and we may just not like what we see. Don't take it so personally.

As the resident fly in the ointment, let me just say, thank heavens McCain didn’t go for Mitt.

As a Mormon, I didn’t oppose Mitt because of his faith, obviously.

I opposed him because of his pandering, his convenient fluidity on certain issues, and his all-too-convenient conversion to nominal conservatism. As a veep pick, I’m also glad that McCain didn’t go for another rich white guy.

Everything I have read and seen about Palin leads me to believe she is a solid conservative, a strong pro-life candidate, and very down-to-earth. I think “we” (LDS) should enthusiastically and wholeheartedly support her as VP.

Your mileage may vary.

Interesting. I was thinking of Oliver North for Defense and Chuck Norris for Homeland security - no I am not kidding.

Fred Thompson for Transportation.

Rudy will probably be Homeland Security but Norris would knock off all the BS even though he has no Gvmnt experience.

but McCain is going to have his work cut out for him with the Senate. Let’s hope Palin can charm them!

You know, I'm not all that fond of Baptists, myself. I didn't (and don't) like Romney, either, and it's not because he's Mormon. There are good people in every church, and bad people in every church. Palin looks like a good choice to me. Maybe not perfect, but in this world, who is? Certainly not me. BTW, I'm also a Mormon, and an ex-Baptist. I'm maybe not the best example of a Mormon around, but like I said about good and bad people in every church...

Fred for AG very good idea.

BTW I have bigtime Dem supporter business contacts who think that Hillary was promised SCOTUS if the Obamanation wins. That is the only reason they can think of for her rolling over like she did. They do not think there is enough money for her to take a dive like she did so it must be a very sweet deal.
