So -- two senior McCain campaign officials confirm that John McCain will appear with his vice presidential pick in Dayton, Ohio tomorrow at noon ET.
And Gov. Mitt Romney expects to be in Dayton, Ohio tomorrow, having been asked there by the McCain campaign, a reliable source close to Romney says. (Another source says Romney will be in Boston.)
Gov. Tim Pawlenty is currently at the governors' mansion in Minneapolis. There is no guidance about his schedule.

Palin? Pleast be Palin....that would destroy the “Cracks in the Glass Ceiling” line.....hehehehee
It's probably gonna be Rimney or Pawlenty but I'm sticking with the pajamahudin and going with Palin for hte above reasons.

Personally, the best pick McCain could make from my perspective is Romney. He’s a top businessman, he’s young enough that he could take over, and he’s a good debator. I don’t agree with all his positions, and his Mormonism and wealth are two negatives that the Dems will use in the campaign. But polls are showing he would nail down NV and help significantly in CO and NM, and those are critical states. I don’t think he can swing MI for McCain, but McCain doesn’t need it: he only needs five states-—FL, VA, OH, CO, and NV. All the rest is fluff.
Fox and Friends mentions Palin.
I can only HOPE he chooses Palin.
PALIN for VP!

I’m going with the pajamahadin on this. They’ve made their case....no campaign is going to spend the cost of two carters from Anchorage so someone can make a speech.
I think it’s Sarah Palin.
A lot of you guys are looking at national appeal, national numbers, "pzzazz," and so on. I'm looking very narrowly at WINNING the EC. That's all I focus on. Does Mitt cost McCain any votes? Yes---but only in states where he will win big anyway (KY, TN, AL, and so on). Does he gain him votes where he currently needs them? Probably.
Does Palin cost him any? Probably not. Does she gain him any, esp. in battleground states? Maybe some in OH and VA, but I'm not sure about that.
If McCain picks an unqualified person to be his VP (such as Palin), he loses my vote. That's not just pandering; it's poor judgment.
This says tomorrow? Is the Dayton, OH thing at noon TODAY or noon Saturday? Anyone?
I agree.

McCain-Anyone but Romney or Lieberman 2008!
Looking like Palin. McCain wouldn’t fly her to Dayton just to stand on stage.
Breaking news. Tim Pawlenty said McCain called him and it is NOT him. Tim Pawlenty is not the choice for VP! And on TV the talking heads are saying all the smoke signals from the Romney camp indicate it’s him. We’ll know shortly.
Palin would gain him votes across the country. 30-50 year old white women are a huge swing bloc this year. Let's not kid around.
But we're talking about McCain here.
Tim Pawlenty will be superb in multiple ways.
Well, Pawlenty would have been superb in multiple ways.
Maybe to global warming cultists, he would.
Fox News just said Mitt said this morning that he is NOT going to Dayton.
She has executive experience at the state level (sort of like a certain Governor of California from many years ago). Has significant experience with energy matters. Is strongly pro-life and walks the talk personally on that matter. Can work well with others.
I could go on. This is an exceptional choice if he makes it.
Wrong. I am sorry but she is not ready to be a heartbeat away from the presidency.
Plus she would have an immense appeal to women voters - and, not least, be a thumb in the eye of the Obama people, and most of the Democratic establishment, for passing over a woman VP.
This may have long been planned. It would seem to be a brilliant move.

I'm a woman, and I have no interest in having a woman as president. None.
Imho, very few women are emotionally equipped to lead a country and be Commander in Chief.
I'm interested in electing someone who is qualified, experienced and conservative.

All the conservative women I know would not vote for a woman just because she's a woman. The lib women wouldn't vote for this eye candy if you paid them. The so-called "independent" women voters are generally liberals who like to appear to be intellects.
So, Palin wouldn't bring doodly-squat to a ticket from the female angle.
I truly hope she has a nice day at the fair today.

Agreed!
I hope she has a nice day at the fair as well.
If the McCain/Palin ticket wins, 2012 looks to be a nightmare year...especially if McCain doesn’t run again. Hillary *will* be back, and she’ll be squaring off against Palin. Will those disgruntled female Hillary supporters still back Palin in 2012 if she’s facing Hillary?

“Wrong. I am sorry but she is not ready to be a heartbeat away from the presidency.”
You offer no facts, nor even conjecture to backup your opinion.
I am no fan of Sen. McCain. But I give credit where credit is due.
I don’t have to offer you anything. Her experience is public record, look it up.
“I dont have to offer you anything. Her experience is public record, look it up.”
As is your record as a cretin.
ah - you resort to name calling when you are wrong.
Get a life and pick a fight with someone else, Democrat.
Then say hello to President Hillary Clinton in 2012...unless Obama wins in November.
Either way, our future doesn’t look too good because of this pick.
