Autumn Leathers, a Maryland teacher, was arrested Wednesday for an alleged sexual relationship with a student.
Leathers, 24, taught English at Mountain Ridge High School in Frostburg, MD, but has been placed on leave and faces termination proceedings. Leathers faces numerous charges, including child abuse, child sexual abuse, and sex offenses.
Police say a 16-year-student told investigators he had been having sexual relations with Leathers that started in May of this year and continued throughout the summer. At the time their relationship started, the student was 15. Authorities believe the activity occurred at Leathers' home and not at school.
Leathers is being held at the Allegany County Detention Center on $25,000 bond.

The fact is that many women just take teaching too seriously, and the liberal education system expects them to " get into the lives" of their students.

Well, there are lots of jokes every time this kind of thing happens.
But, I wonder if part of it is how sex morality or behavior has changed.
For example, anybody over the age of about 50 grew up in a time when it was widely considered immoral or wrong to have sex before marriage. And homosexuality wasn’t spoken of at all. Some people did cross the line, and some girls got in trouble, but they faced criticism from family and friends for their misbehavior.
Then things changed with the so-called “sexual revolution”.
This girl, age 24, was born in 1984, well after the sexual revolution. So her entire growing up years were spent in a time when it was considered ok to have sex with anyone, anytime, and marriage didn’t matter. She grew up in a time when birth control pills are freely dispensed on college campuses, to help ease girls such as herself down the slippery slope of sex. I’m sure this boy wasn’t the very first boy she ever had sex with.
I think that along with the idea that it’s ok to have sex outside marriage, the whole concept of sexual boundaries was erased. Meaning, the concept that it’s not ok for an adult to have sex with a teenager has been erased. This girl obviously didn’t think about those types of boundaries.

Let me tell y’all what I have heard is happening. It’s called bag a teacher sue the district. Thats right, kids have found out if they seduce the teacher they can win a lawsuit, just telling y’all what I heard is all. In other words, this is a game to some kids, getting over on the system and making bucks to boot, not to mention street creds.
Huh? I think that's a relatively new concept. It was certainly a lot more common for girls who were 14 or 15 to get married 50 and 60 years ago than it is now.
Over time, people have a tendency to forget the bad things and only remember the good. People having sex outside of marriage didn't start in 1960. While people's attitudes towards it may have changed, the same things were going on then as now.
The jury does not rule by mugshot photos alone.
