Barack Obama to address supporters from god-like setting

Just wait for the accusations that Barack Obama thinks he's a god. The presidential candidate will deliver the most important speech of his political career this week from what Reuters is describing as an elaborate columned stage resembling a miniature Greek temple.
The Drudge Report has an aerial shot of the set-up at the halfway line of Invesco Field, home of the Denver Broncos, where an estimated 75,000-plus supporters will hear him accept the Democratic nomination on Thursday night.
Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson will open the show with a rendition of the national anthem and fireworks light up the night sky at the finale of his speech.
Mr Obama has of course long been criticised by his detractors for affecting an air of superiority and elitism. And he has also come under flak for breaking with tradition and not addressing delegates at the convention itself.
So expect the setting to give fresh ammunition to John McCain's campaign. Indeed, when told of the plans, a John McCain adviser quipped to ABC:
"Is this from the Onion?" - a reference to the popular satirical newspaper whose spoofs often deliver trenchant political insight.
The Obama campaign has taken its inspiration from John F Kennedy's 1960 acceptance speech to 80,000 supporters at the Los Angeles Coliseum.

Wow, I didn’t know JFK gave his acceptance speech outside the convention. I thought Obama came up with the idea on his own. Maybe Plugs Biden helped him plagarize it. :)

In a previous thread, the posters pretty much figured it out.
The speech will be given on the anniversary of MLK’s I Have a Dream speech, which was given from the Lincoln Memorial.
They’re recreating that scenario...the building looks like the Lincoln Memorial.

1. Get a 3 x 5 card
2. Get glue and glitter
3. One small piece of scotchtape
4. Care draw three "6" with glue on 3 x 5 card.
5. Sprikle a generous amount of glitter on card.
6. Allow to dry.
7. Attach to TV screen above the Greek Temple.

By the look of the backdrop on Drudge I thought Obama was trying for a Faux-Whitehouse look (maybe to go with his fake presidential seal). The next step in his "I'm already president" tour.
BTW - I wouldn't recommend using "hope" and "change" as your "take a shot words" during his Thursday speech -- You might very well die of alchol poisoning before it's over...

Actually, the set is probably a cross between of the rose garden walkway from the White House wing (the curvature of the column path) and the Lincoln Memorial.

The Berlin games were an orgy of Nazi pageantry. Hitler had a special stadium built, though he flew into a rage when he found out that it was to follow a modern design. Another architect assured Hitler he would revise the plans to fit the Führers classical-pagan sensibilities, but the end result was a mish-mash of designs that looked unsightly even to the architecturally ignorant.

So why would accuse Obama of thinking he's a god? Oh, would it be the elaborate columned stage resembling a miniature Greek temple he's building?
Perhaps one day, history will record the trials and tribulations of our culture, and future students will read passages like this...
Apallobama: In American and European mythology, Apollobama (in Indonesian-Soetero, or EnglishBarry), was one of the most important and versatile of the American deities. The Chosen One of the Limousine Legion of Latte'd Liberals, a small but influential cult of the ancient era, Apollobama had been variously recognized as a god of hope and change; national soul healing; climatology; page turning, hidden middles names; and more. His divine favor was often invoked by those suffering from Beedeeeess, a condition brought about by intense hatred of Emperor Bush (circa 2001-2008). Apollobama was also known in liberal-influenced Democratic mythology as the Obamessiah. In ancient conservative mythology he was known as "That goofball McCain whupped up on good way back in '08".

Wow, America is morphing in Nazi Germany, without the persecution of the Jewish people. Joseph Goebbels would be jealous of the way the media is being used today to sell image over substance. America today is confirming everything Goebbels believed possible through the use of propaganda and the power of the media to manipulate people's opinions.
This event outside tomorrow will end up resembling one of Hitler's massive outdoor events. The robots, who came for the free concert, will respond like the Nazi crowds, cheering on cue and fawning over this empty suit. Everything staged and everything will be about image and nothing else.
The backdrop is pompous, but fits in with the mentality of the man and the party. Obama, the Messiah, come to save first America and then the world...
America really is finished.
