FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE; August 27, 2008
LTC. Allen West Demands Ron Klein to Stop Partying Like A Rock Star (Boca Raton, FL.) LTC Allen West (Ret.) is demanding that Congressman Ron Klein not attend a Lobbyist sponsored party at the Democratic National Convention in Denver today. Visa is throwing a Convention party today for Freshman Democrats and due to a loophole in a 2007 bill, Klein is planning to attend.
Mr. Klein promised that he wouldnt even take a cup of coffee from a lobbyist in 2006, but I guess we can just add this to his list of empty campaign promises, said Congressional Candidate LTC Allen West. It takes a person with character to stand up for the American people, but Klein seems more concerned with lobbyists and their bribes. The new ethics laws that passed in 2007, prohibited lobbyists and their organizations from sponsoring convention parties in honor of a single member of Congress. However, there is a loophole for Members of the House. House members can attend an event paid for by lobbyists that honor a group of lawmakers, such as the democratic freshman class. The nonprofit, non-partisian group Democracy 21 president Fred Wertheimer said; Any freshman Democrat who does participate in the August 27 reception should be treated by the public and media as failing to comply with the language, meaning, purpose and spirit of the new House ethics rule".
LTC Allen West is an American Hero, and you never have to wonder about his alliance. He took an oath to the Constitution and has been serving the American people for over twenty years, said Campaign Manager Mike McCrady. He is a man of character and wont give us empty promises when he is our next Congressman.
Ping!
He’s right on the money there. (no pun intended).
Thank you for the ping. I see where Klein got 85% in his primary. Unbelievable there was even a challenger...still doesn’t speak well for his popularity IMO.
GO WEST
GO WEST!
BTTT
Go West! America needs people like him.
