Any lifelong Dodgers fan (I plead guilty) knew exactly what the Rev. Jesse Jackson meant yesterday when he said Barack Obama needs a Pee Wee Reese moment.
For those who don't bleed Dodgers blue, Jackson was talking about the Kentucky-born Brooklyn Dodgers shortstop who embraced Jackie Robinson on the field when he broke the baseball color barrier in 1947.
Whether Bill Clinton can convincingly pull off his Pee Wee Reese moment remains to be seen.
the Big Fella has his nose out of joint because the Obama campaign wants him to make the case that Obama would be a better commander in chief than Republican John McCain in his speech tomorrow night.
Clinton, it seems, would rather talk at great length, we can assume about the policy successes of his administration in contrast with the Bush administration.
Clinton was miffed anyway because he believes that in the campaign against his wife, Obama was insufficiently laudatory about the accomplishments of his presidency.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi... acknowledged yesterday that Democrats had not yet achieved the complete reconciliation that we need.
Former Maryland Lt. Gov. Kathleen Kennedy Townsend...said that bad blood between the two camps is getting worse.
Disunity among Democrats?
Perish the thought.

I think he meant Pee Wee Herman moments.
