Have the Democrats wasted the first night of the convention?
Yes, says Democratic Strategist and CNN contributor James Carville.
Speaking on CNN, Carville said the party was too soft in its attacks on John McCain Monday night the same mistake, Carville says, Democrats made at the 2004 convention.
"You haven't heard about Iraq or John McCain or George W. Bush ..."

Note to Carvell: Are you going to be the last person in politics to realize that these clowns don’t know what they’re doing besides trying to revive Camelot??

Carvile's message to the DNC:

Hey Lizard Head, if your party had more qualified candidates other than Lurch & The Womanizer or the Witch and the Flake with an arabic name, you might have a chance at the polls. A retarded homeless person would have a better chance than these Democratic bottom of the barrel scrapings.

Hillary's speech will set the room on fire. She will attack Bush, attack McCain, she will give them everything Carville says they didn't get on the first night.
She may not ask for their vote, but after she's done, they will want to give it to her.
Tonight, she won't play the bipartisan uniter. That's Obama's role -- and it ain't playing so well for him. Tonight, she will unite the Democrats by ripping the Republicans a new one.

I'd say this bottom lines it. They had to waste the first night persuading people Michelle isn't a Black Panther.
I figured the reviews would be posted on FR, so I watched the Rockies pull out a pitchers duel against the Giants.

James Carville

isn't one to talk.

It was such a relief when Carville went to CNN, I don’t ever see him anymore. :)

She may not ask for their vote, but after she's done, they will want to give it to her. Like 1976, a convention full of delegates who know they chose poorly.

That’s Carville before the train hit him.

All she’s gonna need are the red, draping banners behind her.

The superdelegates may not fulfill their function this year, but their function -- their reason for existing -- is so that they can rescue the party in the event that a convention full of delegates comes to realize that they have chosen poorly.
This year, the Democrats chose poorly. They know that. But they may be too afraid to do anything about it.

James Carville is setting the stage for the next two nights of non stop Clintons.
A few more super delegates and she wins.

This year, the Democrats chose poorly. They know that. But they may be too afraid to do anything about it. They have to ask themselves is it better to lose one contest now or lose the next four place start a race war. They are actually chosing the better of the two paths: Throwing one election instead of alienating 20% of their voters.

I have to disagree: it won’t unite the party. It will just be another unpleasant reminder that they chose the wrong nominee.

I won’t say it’s likely, but I think if Hillary makes a serious try to be the nominee, she may reveal that Harold Ford will be her vice president. The party might well unite under that team-up.

How about a better title: “Dems are just a waste.”
