Davis warns of a new civil war with Southern states
The Buffalo News ^ | 08/25/08 | Jerry Zremski

Posted on 08/26/2008 9:47:41 AM PDT by forkinsocket

WASHINGTON — Congressional candidate Jack Davis, in a speech earlier this year, warned that increasing immigration from Mexico could lead to a new civil war between northern states and Mexican-influenced Southern states that may want to secede from the United States.

“In the latter part of this century or the next, Mexicans will be a majority in many of the states and could therefore take control of the state government using the democratic process,” Davis said in the speech. “They could then secede from the United States, and then we might have another civil war.”

A supporter of one of Davis’ rivals for the Democratic nomination in the 26th district, Jon Powers, posted the video to YouTube. The Powers campaign alerted The Buffalo News to the Davis video.

The YouTube video is labeled as a speech Davis gave at the Center for Inquiry in Amherst on Feb. 1, but a center press release indicates that he spoke there on March 19.

No matter when he spoke, Davis could not have made his point of view on Mexican immigrants any clearer.

“They have an allegiance to Mexico, where they were taught the U. S. fought an unjust war with Mexico and took this territory,” Davis said. “They believe the territory of these states belongs to Mexico.”

Davis did not name specific states that might be prone to succession.

Will this be before or after the Second American Civil War that pits conservatives against liberals?
And no, I am not joking.

If Red State/Blue State is any indication of the battle lines and who lines up on which side, Libs will find themselves surrounded on three sides in the East, Midwest and Far West. They will find themselves outgunned, outmanned and critical war-making industries will be in short supply.

A peaceful way out of this dilema; however, I fear that sensible men are not making the decisions. I would propose a simple land exchange. If you are a Liberal in a Red State, find a Conservative in a Blue state and simply swap homes. Illegal aliens would have two choices - forced repatriation to the land of their birth, or forced relocation to Liberal states.

Government would naturally be split - Liberal policies in Liberal states only.

As I said, I believe the time for rational discourse has passed and we must “Let slip the dogs of war.”

I have read sometime in the past that one of the conditions of admitting Texas to the Union was the right to divide into as many as five new states. Other sources have written that Texas forfeited that right when it seceded in 1861. Picture the ugly result: Eight more liberal Mexican-leaning U.S. senators . . . the time will come when even a well-organized Mexican minority in the state might be able to pull it off.

Indiana, and particularly its legislature, was pro-Confederacy. In fact, the threat of Indiana's secession was so high during this time that Indiana's Republican Governor, Oliver Morton, took steps to prevent the legislature from convening and then paid much of the state's operational expenses out of his own pocket (and also obtaining some illegal loans from his bank) for the bulk of the war. He also privately financed the money to raise Indiana's army during the war.

That's a great idea till, the hue and cry from whining liberals would force us into war. The liberals would have to support all their useless eaters while we would have all the economic opportunity. (like DDR vs FDR or ROK vs DRPK)

also they would not deport their illegals thus creating a hateful and resented underclass of course WE would get the blame for that too.
At this point, I have to say like Cato... Cartago Delenda Est..or in this case Socialism Delenda Est. While we would have most of the military, they would have most of the criminals and the law enforcement. Would Cops shoot at Marines,,, are the ATF tactical teams better than the Rangers.

We have seen the presence of such folks as Janet Reno and General Weaselly Clark which means that it wont be a clean split. At least in civil war times folks had loyalty to their states or their regions. This will be a nasty free for all until the forces of FREEDOM get organized.

When the value of the dollar approaches $0 then the US will disintegrate into 50 independent states. Each state should already have contingency plans for issuing its own currency - based not on any hard commodity but on a new minimum wage.

Without this there will be instant anarchy (which from the Convention this week would at least make several Democrats happy).

This will transpire before any new Civil War.

Please read my original statement carefully. I said:”If you are a Liberal living in a Conservative state...”. Obviously, RINOs, like those you mentioned would have to make a choice. I can’t see how you can reconcile amnesty with Conservatives. Anyway, it IS a thought. If it prevents a war that I see coming, let’s spare the bloodshed.

I’m being serious here

Why can’t the north east minus NH go on it’s own and have their country connected with Quebec.

All liberals and homosexuals can move there and have their liberal utopia
All conservatives and republicans move out of those states and then we can have our own country and live how we want to live instead of being dictated to by liberal special interest groups.
Let all illegals go to liberal utopia as well

I would have no problem if that were to happen at all

After all the south gives the majority of men and woman to the military, we have the industry this time and we have the crops, weather, ports etc

I bet in 10 years those liberals would ruin their new country and be crying to come back to us again but of course they’ll be still trying to change us to how they used to be forgetting of course that it was their way of life and voting which ruined liberal utopia

Don't forget food. An interesting intellectual exercise is the question of how long big cities like LA, Chicago and NYC will last without regular shipments of food from Flyover Country. How many truckers will want to risk their lives traveling through hostile territory, esp. if a few are specifically targeted?

The issue of Texas dividing was always moot. The treaty doesn't specify a method, but the US constitution does - so presumably this right is no different than any other state except the other states are not limited to five.

The real plum Texas got and no other state got was the right to control its own public lands. Just imagine if Alaska got title to the 97% of its territory Uncle Sam is currently wasting.

We need a new slogan: Texas Rights for The West!!!

There was actually a political movement called the Sagebrush Confederates or something like that. They were pushing for an end to federal ownership of the public lands in the west.

"I can’t see how you can reconcile amnesty with Conservatives."

I'm not, I'm a realist and the reality is that John McCain, President Bush's most ardent amnesty cheerleader, is the republican nominee for president. Many conservatives like yourself who call for civil war will in fact vote for McCain this fall. That's what I can't reconcile.

From a fiscal persective, that would be great for the Northeast, since they could then keep their tax dollars and not have to see them constantly being sent to Southern and Western States.

After all the south gives the majority of men and woman to the military

Do you have a source for this? I've heard people claim this, but I've never seen any evidence.

You assume too much. I WILL NOT vote for McCain. I have already stated who I intend to vote for - and been criticized as an “Obama enabler.” My vote will be for Ann Coulter. In Delaware, she has as much chance as McCain.

And I do not “call for civil war”. I am trying to head it off, as any rational man would/should do. But if it comes, I will be prepared. And at the end of the day, I can hold my head up, knowing that I stood by my principles.

Florida gets back 95 cents for every dollar it contributes to the Federal treasury, so you guys aren't mooching off of use here in the North.

But the top ten worst Federal tax mooches (Mississippi, New Mexico, Lousiana, Alaska, West Virginia, North Dakota, Alabama, Virginia, Kentucky and South Dakota) are all red States in the South and West. The ones who get ripped off the most (Colorado, NY, California, Delaware, Illinois, New Hampshire, Minnesota, Connecticut, Nevada and NJ) are 8-2 blue states.

I'm talking about how much each state sends to the Federal treasury versus what it gets back- that's independent of property and state and local taxes.

Since you live in New Hampshire, you are getting ripped off by Southern states that are taking your tax dollars.
