DENVER - Texas Rep. Chet Edwards, who was on the four-person short list of potential Barack Obama running mates, said Sunday the front-page scandal involving former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards hurt his chances of getting on the ticket.

“I would have to think that a bumper sticker that said 'Obama/The Other Edwards' might have been a bit difficult,” Edwards said Sunday after visiting a Veterans Administration hospital upon arrival in Denver for the Democratic National Convention.

Chet Edwards (not related to the former North Carolina senator) said he was notified Aug. 10 that he was on Obama's short list “and there was a possible plan to have my name released to the public” in the days that followed.

LOL. I bet he's right about that. Obama would have been MUCH MUCH better off with a semi-moderate Texan than another vain, pompous, lying, hairplugged, NE communist.

We can thank John Edwards for contributing to the cration of Obama bin Biden

He may be right. For example, I wouldn’t go into illinois politics these days if my name were Ryan.

I wanted Sheila Jackson-Lee to be the VP nominee because
of her vast outer space knowledge.
My second choice was Quanell X, a community organizer
very like Barry Hussein 0bama.

lol...there’s little doubt. In the end, John Edwards is not only responsible for eliminating “the other Edwards’” VP chances, but as a consequence will play no small part in destroying whatever chance B-HO has of winning the Presidency.

Clinton’s adulterous affair affected the outcome of the ‘00 Presidential election (the closest election in history), and now Edwards’ could very well do the same 8 years later.

Needed whitey for diversity though. So we have a 65 year old white guy who makes John Kerry sound intelligent, and a 46 year old black who is nothing more than the male version of Maxine Waters (without the experience).

A no name southerner is a better choice than Biden. Hell, Cynthia McKinney is a better choice than Biden.

Why Chet Edwards?

A "moderate" Southerner without any history of negative national coverage.

As a former constituent of Chet Edwards, I can only say “Thank God!”

He may have no negative national coverage, but I can assure you that he is very liberal. He just votes both sides of issues so that his liberalism can be dismissed(kind of like all of Obama’s reasons for voting certain ways on abortion). Edwards does that on nearly every issue, and he will never, ever give a straight answer.

I do not detest very many people, but he is one.

Texas “Chet” Edwards would never be considered as VP. He has too many weaknesses!

I worked as a Congressional Advisor/Researcher for two congressional candidates agasinst “Chet” Edwards. “Chet” never had a job outside of politics. A Career Politician. He also did some illegal uses of congressional staffers to help his campaign. He also accepted campaign contributions from corporations to get defense contracts.

There’s more but who cares now? “Chet” has money and plans to keep his “post”!
