A group of Democratic National Convention protesters have been gathering to block major arteries in downtown Denver, moving each time as police demand they disperse.
First the marchers blocked traffic at the intersection of Broadway and Colfax Avenue and briefly refused to move.
The protesters, chanting, "no more presidents, no more wars," disrupted traffic along both streets as police tried to move them into either Civic Center or Lincoln Park.
After 10 minutes or so, police gave an order to disperse, and the group barely moved.
Several officers on horseback arrived and began moving the crowd out of the street.
"Double wide!," one officer ordered, and police lined up to move protesters.
Just as it appeared they would disperse peacefully, a small group of about eight protesters ran into traffic on Lincoln Street and sat in the street. They chanted "our streets!" in front of Capitol.

The moonbat convention has begun!
“no more presidents, no more wars,”
That’s their program?
RE-CREATE ‘68
I hope that jail is big enough. Then again they could send them to Sheriff Joe’s tent city in Phoenix. A little warm this time of year. Hahahaha.

"DECLARE IT NOW! WEAR ORANGE!"

And we have said that building our party itself is the most important part of organizing forces for revolution. This is true now, and it is true looking forward to the creation of that future R.A.P. and the waging of that armed struggle.":

"You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy"
LOL at atomic...great star wars reference. What a lovely bunch of people in Denver...guess there’s nothing else to do when you’re living off the government’s tab!
Thats their program?
Standard anarchist rhetoric.
Sorry props should have went to MtnClimber
They chanted “our streets!” in front of Capitol.
OK, we need a dictator for about 12 hours- the scum would all be shot.
So true.
This is more of an ‘event’ at which to be seen than any kind of ‘protest’.
“Join me in Denver for the big ‘08 See-in’”.
Wussies indeed!
“What a bunch of wimps. “
Yea! Wussie commies.
IMUS had a moment of clarity today and said if you’re going to protest, light something on fire and break something. Otherwise forget it.
I stumbled on this gem...a protest group walks by and the comment is hilarious!
It’s about 50 seconds in.

It’s amazing how mounted officers can move a crowd.
You can argue with an officer but you can’t argue with
a horse.

"Why did it take a bunch of Arabs to do what you all should have done a long time ago?"
August, 2003: Ward Churchill Caught On Tape Advocating Terrorism [vs Fellow Americans]
Audio link at Michell Malkin's website (included below)
Question from audience:
You mentioned a little bit ago, "Why did it take a bunch of Arabs to do what you all should have done a long time ago," that's my question.
Churchill: I'm gonna repeat that, tell me if I got that right: Why shouldn't we do something and how do you you move so they don't see you coming.
As to the first part, not a reason in the world that I could see. I can't find a single reason that you shouldn't in a principled way there may be some practical considerations, such as do you know how (laughter from audience)
you know, often these things are processes. It's not just an impulse. And certainly it's not just an event.
And the simple answer, although it probably should be more complicated, but I'm not being flip and giving the simple answer, is:
You carry the weapon. That's how they don't see it coming. You're the one...
They talk about "color blind or blind to your color." You said it yourself.
You don't send the Black Liberation Army into Wall Street to conduct an action.
You don't send the American Indian Movement into downtown Seattle to conduct an action.
Who do you send? You. Your beard shaved, your hair cut close, and wearing a banker's suit.
There's probably a whole lot more to it, you know that. But there's where you start..."

LOL! Oh ye moonbats, you never dissappoint....
Mounted cops frequently protect FReepers from the greasy pacifist hordes. It is a comforting feeling
What a waste. Work ‘em to death in the Alaskan oil fields.
The Recreate 68 gang must be astonished at how few protesters actually showed up. Today, you could walk through Civic Center Park, where the protesters were supposed to gather, without any problems at all. If there were more than a couple hundred protesters around the downtown area today, I didn’t see them. I only saw a couple of groups of maybe 10-50 people. One of the protesters blamed the preparations of the Denver police for keeping the numbers so small.
The city opened some streets they had closed to give the protesters room to march. So far, the protests have been a big bust.
I think I’ve seen this movie before. Wasn’t it called PCU?
Protesting for the sake of protesting. Taking off time from their lives or whater lives they do or don’t carry to organize and smoke free pot. That’s why they’re in Denver.
All of these protestors in Denver are a product of failing in school due to lack of preparation in life and too many drugs including acid trips.
Oh no. Another group is trying to appropriate a color?
...”this penis party’s gotta go, hey, hey, ho, ho...this penis party’s.... :)
What was the comment?
I can’t make it out.
I saw maybe 100 go down the 16th Street Mall around noon. Weren't they claiming 50,000 would come?
Bunch of damn insecure control freaks.
Just saw some punks on O’Reilly protesting in Denver, yelling F**k America. Those snot nosed punks would be immediate organ donors if they did that kind of stuff in China, Korea, Russia, etc.
No way. He’s working for us now.
“That smelled really bad!”
These people are revolutionary communists, but certainly would and do cry like babies when seriously confronted. They know the cops have to hold back.
That was pretty hysterical. Thanks for the laugh.
As a retired playwright I think it might be fortuitous for me to engage a lyricist and produce Our Streets...The Musical!!!
As a sensory experience, this is to ‘68 what a video game is to a real battle. The visuals are there, but where is the tang of teargas, the satisfying thwack of batons on hippy skulls, the panicked mouse-squeak of trapped media? The only smell here is from poor personal hygiene, not the same as the loose bowels of fleeing commies.
I guess they don’t want an authentic recreation after all.
I knew you all needed to know this pithy bit of data. Whole books and workshops and institutions were founded on "color-related auric readings, for healings, self-improvement, etc.
To wit, so I never wore orange during those years; it always struck me as an "sexual invitation". Anyway....
This is what grew out of the "What color is your parachute" book years....
You're right. Horses have a "presence" that can't be beat, police cruisers don't have it but a horse is something else in crowds. I think too, most people are afraid or leery of horses, which helps and too, there is a no-no about hitting, tormenting, aggravating a horse whereas they'll trash and burn a cruiser in a heart-beat.
Thanks, lol. Yep, I caught the comment. In fact, I watched the whole clip, and throughout... I kept hearing the Slogan “Change you Can Believe In”... sort of dying down to barely a whisper.
“The visuals are there, but where is the tang of teargas, the satisfying thwack of batons on hippy skulls, the panicked mouse-squeak of trapped media?”
Colorful description. Coincidentally I recently researched batons as a concealed weapon. I think I’ll buy one now. Thanks.
During a G-8 protest a few years ago, I saw a video of mounted police confronting a surly, threatening mob of masked protestors in a parking lot. The cops advanced, at a canter rather than a gallop.
The hippies broke and fled in all directions, leaving a litter of backpacks, obscene protest signs, water bottles, and (for all I know) abandoned birkenstocks. It was a veritable moonbat Mitla Pass.
The cops needed only sabers and fur hats to ride them down Cossack style.
What a great image. I think that G-8 you're talking about was in Seattle, right?
a veritable moonbat Mitla Pass. Good one!!
Um, no. Why does Alaska always wind up being where people want to dump the dregs? The men and women who WORK in the Alaskan oilfieds are PROFESSIONALS. They work hard, long hours under horrible conditions, and they earn good money for it.
I say, send these crybabies to N. Korea or China, where they think the governments suit them better.
Apologies, it was a reference to Siberia and what they are asking for. I subscribe to your solution also.
Thanks! I believe it was Seattle, yes.
