Michelle is the Obama who fits in a small room. She does the coffeeklatch to Barack's coliseum.
For months now, she's lifted her husband up by downsizing him gently, while grappling with her own critics. Sure, he's the orator who electrifies the faithful by the tens of thousands. But he snores, and smells not so good in the morning.
Sure, he's got what it takes to be president, she offers. But he's "just a man."
A tall woman with an outsized personality of her own, Michelle Obama has toured the community centers, church basements and ballrooms of the land, pulling in a crowd of 50 here, 2,500 there, and mixing it up with cozy TV chats and glossy magazine features.
Monday night in Denver, the stage is hers at the Democratic National Convention for a prime-time speech introducing the potential first lady to her largest TV audience.
If part of her function has been to reveal the husband and dad side of the man addressing the masses, she also needs to show she's just a woman, just an American, just a patriot.
She'll be joined by her daughters, Malia and Sasha, her mother Marian Robinson, and her brother Craig Robinson, who will introduce her.
In the primaries, she was dubbed "the Closer" for her ability to persuade the undecided voters walking in to come on board before walking out. Now she's the opener, the first-night star called upon to testify about her husband's vision and values, and perhaps settle some doubts about herself.

I sure hope her attitude shines through for all to see, despite the last few months of coaching.
She carries a straight razor in her shoe.
I predict she will be dressed in Red, White and Blue and profess how much she loves this country. Democrats will go out of their way to show us their ‘patriotism’. Of course their policies of crapping on the military and selling out our interest to international bodies suggest otherwise, but they will make a big effort to pull the wool over the eyes of voters.
So, she is speaking to the DNC— or as I like to call it the DeNunCiation Convention...

I suspect that she doesn’t smell so good in the morning either. Amazing what a bath and a little shoe polish can do.
Some ‘developing’ news ticker from Fox News just now saying that the Clintons and the Obamas are feuding big time. I expect that there will be a bombshell released by the Clintons at any moment.

I suspect that the ‘angry Michelle’ will be nowhere to be found. Instead, we will likely see ‘Prozac Michelle,’ who is angry at nothing and will be an emotional flatliner.
However, I hope that Michelle 1.0 will make an angry return to the podium.

Jeremiah Wright is a distant memory, and she and hubby never heard anything he said anyway. She will not even know what the word 'reparations' means, or understand what the banner 'They Owe Us' refers to. Until after the election, of course.
But remember, we need Barack to keep 'this great country' on the straight and narrow, and reverse all the ills brought on by the evil Bush/Cheney.
Their wardrobes are going to be a riot. I want to see if they improve on that dowdy '50's-style flowered shirtdress Michelle was dressed in Saturday. Mrs. Biden didn't seem to get the memo, however, that was a pretty nice looking suit she had on.

We don’t need TWO radical populists in the WH. I am sure that all the voters out there with that needle in their arm called “the government” see it differently, but the rest of us who work for a living (in my case-two jobs) can’t afford them anymore.
THe second Aunt Esther opens her pie hole with criticism of McCain, ugly America, or anything policy related; her butt is fair game for the rest of the campaign. If she were as smart as people think she is she will stick to a perspective of a wife and a mother. I dare say it’s a safe bet that Cindy McCain will not be addressing the convention.
Possibility fat Teddy will be upstaging Michelle.
