Undocumented Immigrant Upset After Arrest At Car Dealership
nbc5i ^ | Aug. 22, 2008 | NBC5I

IRVING, Texas -- Some members of the Hispanic community are calling for a boycott of Frank Parra dealerships after a broken car deal led to an undocumented immigrant's arrest.

Frank Parra Dodge insists it is the victim of an immigration smear campaign brought on by community activist Carlos Quintanilla. Quintanilla is calling for a boycott after the sales staff at the dealership had customer Oscar Urbina arrested.

Urbina admitted to being in the country illegally and using a fake Social Security number to buy a truck when the finance company flagged the deal.

"That's when we said, 'Just give us our truck and leave the store,'" Joe Fernandez of Frank Parra Dodge said.

Instead, the dealership's salesmen said Urbina locked himself inside the truck, and that is when they called police.

"The last thing we want is to have a customer arrested. We just wanted our truck back," Fernandez said.

However, Urbina said the dealership actually offered to find a new finance company that would accept the fake Social Security number if he agreed to pay a higher percentage rate and put more money down.

"It's saying, 'If you don't agree with us, we will call the police and report you,'" Quintanilla said.

The Parra dealership denies that that offer took place.

Urbina said he was upset because he has purchased numerous cars at the dealership before and there was never a problem.

However, when asked if that fact makes it appropriate for him to use a fake Social Security number, Urbina seemed to be at a loss for words.

Texans! Give this auto dealer some support, the illegal alien lobby is demanding businesses serve illegals on THEIR TERMS!

Sheesh.

Why a company would ever have lent money to someone not legally in the country and, basically, untraceable, is beyond me.

They deserve to go bankrupt.

Support them? NO way.

However, Urbina said the dealership actually offered to find a new finance company that would accept the fake Social Security number if he agreed to pay a higher percentage rate and put more money down.

That doesnt read like a company I would support. After knowing it was a fake SSN they still offered to go and find a company that would accept the fake SSN? Screw them.

Those are the same outfits that the government is bailing out with our tax dollars. Yes, in an actual free market system, they would go broke.

The financing company bounced the paper back and the deal became an “unwind”.

If the truck hadn't been on the lot at the time it would have just been repoed later.

As for the crimmigrant — absolutely deport him!

I am so freaking sick and tired of the d@mn MSM massaging the language in these emotion-based BS articles.

A CRIMINAL IS A CRIMINAL IS A CRIMINAL.

They broke federal law the instant they broke into our Republic, and they should be deported back to their homelands. The Japanese government deports their illegal aliens, why can't our government do the same????

I find it most interesting that illegal citizens (Thanks to Motor/Voter most can vote) that file exempt on income taxes and FICA have plenty of money to by new cars while most legals are taxed so hard that a new car is no more than a pipe-dream for them.

Yes, he says he had bought other trucks there earlier, no problemo. But this time the lending company refused.

The obvious explanation is that lending companies carelessly made numerous bad loans, got into serious trouble, and now are much more careful not to make dubious loans.

This guy was a real jerk to lock himself in the truck. If he had just quietly left he would have been OK.

Urbina said he was upset because he has purchased numerous cars at the dealership before and there was never a problem.

That's because they changed the laws. SS numbers are now on a federal database to make sure they are ligit

No financing, no vehicle, no problem

Here in Florida, it actually caused many illegals to LEAVE..............................to Canada and back to their turd world countries

Fully prepared for my flaming.....

As someone who works in the subprime auto finance business, I know why a finance company would do this. As illegals are all in the subprime category, a finance company would commit suicide by not financing the best paying demographic group in this sector. They would have to turn a blind eye while the competition bought all that paper and they only financed people who have proven themselves to never pay. It is a competitive business, HSBC and UACC just closed down their subprime auto finance divisions this month, while others have tightened up considerably.
It is the job of our “leadership” to secure our borders and get these people out of here or properly papered up. Barring that, don’t blame the banks for loaning money. Had a bank not picked it up, he would have obtained financing through a buy here pay here dealer, they all know that illegals pay better than whites or blacks any day of the week.
It sounds like he was using a SS number from a dead person, one with good credit. When the scam was revealed, he had to put more down and go with a higher interest rate, commensurate with his actual credit experience. I don’t condone illegals being here, but if you are going to survive in this business you have to finance evryone that fits your criteria.

This guy doesn't think he has to obey ANY LAWS!

Carlos Quintanilla spent most of the day in jail after being arrested by Irving police on outstanding warrants after he had concluded a television interview.

Police said Mr. Quintanilla, leader of Dallas-based Accion America, had seven outstanding warrants – mostly traffic citations – from police in Dallas and Farmers Branch and the Dallas County sheriff's office.

I have a friend that works with the cops. She’s seen a lot of these where the illegal ponys-up a fraudulent ssn, “buys” the car, never makes payments and then has it repossessed.

Then they do it all over again with another ssn.

But they are just here to work.

The employment info on the bureau would not match the customers verifiable employment info. That is why dead numbers work better. Looks like nobody entered the employment info. The SS number is often a moot point, many banks accept a Tax ID

LOL! Check this one out.

Police: Shoplifter stuffs octopus, shrimp down his pants

Aug. 15, 2008
A man was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting Thursday after Chandler police said he attempted to steal packages of octopus and shrimp by stuffing them down his pants.

Ricardo Arcos-Lopez grabbed the packages, slipped them in his shorts and was able to breach cashiers before the store manager caught him at the door, officers said.

When police arrived, they said the name Lopez gave them was bogus. When he revealed his real name, police said they discovered he was wanted on a misdemeanor warrant and two felony warrants.

Officers said the man had a history of using false identities. Police said they found a fake mustache and beard at the time of his arrest.

Police said Lopez is an illegal immigrant who had been deported once before.

In the center of the chaos stood Carlos Quintanilla. Atop a bench, he shouted through a bullhorn about how the anti-illegal immigrant measures the council was about to pass were discriminatory. He led a group of mostly Latino protesters in the chant made famous by Cesar Chavez. "Si se puede!" (We can do it!) he yelled again and again. He'd been leading chants outside, but now, inside the atrium, it seemed louder. He drew angry looks from Anglo residents who supported the measures, which make English the town's official language, allow local law enforcement to screen suspects' immigration status and prohibit landlords from renting to illegal immigrants. But Quintanilla also got some anxious glances from some Latinos who, like him, were there to oppose the proposals.

A fellow member of the League of United Latin American Citizens told Quintanilla, who became a member of one of the group's local chapters last year, to stand down, saying he shouldn't be representing the organization. "Get out of my face," Quintanilla says he replied. "I don't need to listen to you."

Quintanilla—activist and businessman, father and former gang member—has often been at the center of conflict, from the time he says he was suspended from school at age 15, to his conviction on federal racketeering charges in the early '90s, to a collection of lawsuits in Dallas County.

With the average of $1,500 in "Earned" income tax credit and the $1,200 stimulus checks many of them are walking off with $2,700. Cash.

Here in Dallas you should have seen them on the "tax free" weekend buying school clothes for all their illegal kids born in mexico and anchor babies. The mall in Plano was swamped. I didn't hear English for 20 - 30 minutes at a time in Dillard’s or JC Penney. Just loud, yelling, out of control illegals and their kids fighting over clothes that were on sale.

Where did you get that idea? They buy false documents and they don't have a clue if it belongs to a dead person or not. Sometimes the number hasn't even been issued yet. I know, I ran credit reports/social security number searches on plenty of Hispanics, Russians, Chinese, etc. that turned out to have false documents.

You need to read “The Mystery of Capital.” The basic premise of the book is that countries become “wealthy” when systems are in place to record and validate ownership of properties, such that accountability is maintained for everything.

A finance company, making deals with people who are untraceable and unaccountable, over time, will go under. You say such businesses have to do that or they will go under. I say such businesses should never do that or they destine themselves a losing proposition to prudent investors.

A prudent, sub-prime firm, making half or less the profit will survive, while garrulous firms will go under.

And, may I suggest, my perspective is what has proven out.

By the way, I'd like to see the official numbers on the timeliness of loan payments based on race in this country, since you say “illegals pay better than whites or blacks any day of the week.”

That's basically what bank of America did when they had their credit cards for illegals campaign. Everyone said "What does it matter, they pay up front for the card?" Well it helped them get HOUSES here and now they are in Mexico and the keys are thrown back at the bankers. If you read the Houston papers every now and then you will see a house busted with 60 some odd people living there. They were bought with nothing down and a gardeners job for a $200k house. Then the coyotes ran their businesses through them. What a mess. You can bet they are getting gubmint help to keep their houses now.

Not true!! I have to watch mine and my daughters numbers because they are floating around. We have jobs we don't work at and have credit cards we didn't apply for. I have everything flagged and have to renew it just to keep myself and daughter clean. The bad thing is we called the cops to tell them someone was using our ID's and they needed to contact DELL computer to find out where the mailing address was for the computers they ordered and they wouldn't even take the time. Dell wouldn't tell me and I had all the info just because I wouldn't verify my SS# with them over the phone.

Course if Dell told me I would have paid a personal visit with my .45 so they probably saved me some jail time. Nobody cares!

Someday we can all just get a chip under our skin to stop all this foolishness. That should do it.

"In 1996, Congress expanded the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) to include violations of federal immigration law.1 While this expansion may not have received much publicity, it could potentially change the face of U.S. immigration law enforcement. Under the new RICO provisions, a violation of certain provisions of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) meets the definition of racketeering activity, also known as a "predicate offense,"2 and an entity that engages in a pattern of racketeering activity for financial gain can be held both criminally and civilly liable.3 Among other things, the INA makes it unlawful to encourage illegal immigration or employ illegal aliens,4 which violations were included as predicate offenses under RICO."
