As you will hear in this video clip from today's announcement that Joe Biden is Obama's running mate, Barack Obama got confused about whether Biden would be on top of the ticket or on the bottom! Here is how the McCain Campaign has already jumped on the gaffe:
“Barack Obama sounded as though he turned over the top spot on the ticket today to his new mentor, when he introduced Joe Biden as the next president. The reality is that nothing has changed since Joe Biden first made his assessment that Barack Obama is not ready to lead. He wasn’t ready then and he isn’t ready now.”

It will be purely a ceremonial post, with the real work and the underlying agenda being carried by the “co-Presidency” doctrine which was established during the regime of the “Former Occupant of the Oval Office, 1993-2001”. Former President Jimmy Carter suggested the power of the office of the President be divided up two or even three ways, so head of state, executive officer of partisan affairs, and commander in chief be treated as different functions, not necessarily all held by one person at any given time.

I am watching the replay on Cspan right now. While introducing Biden, Obama did say “the next president”...but he quickly corrected and said “next vice president”.
Lets not jump on every little thing here folks. Do we really expect someone to speak for 45 minutes and not make one slip????
I’m a McCain guy, but I’m getting tired of people from both parties trying to make hay out of a single slip in the middle of a speach.
This “gotcha” stuff is BS.
Have no fear, McCain will win in a landslide!
