A new conservative group has produced a television ad attacking Barack Obama for his relationship with former Weather Underground bomber Bill Ayers.
"How much do your really know about Barack Obama? What does he really believe?" asks the ad, which then cites the failed attack on the Capitol on 9/11, and links it to the Weather Underground attack on the Capitol decades earlier.
The group says it will spend $2.8 million airing the ad in Ohio and Michigan — which would be the largest single third-party expenditure this cycle.
"Why would Barack Obama be friends with someone who bombed the Capitol and is proud of it?" asks the narrator. "Do you know enough to elect Barack Obama?"
The group, the American Issues Project, is a 501(c)4 — which means it isn't required to disclose its donors. According to a press release set to go out shortly, it's the product of a coalition of conservative groups (Failor said his Iowans for Tax Relief is not among them). Its president is Ed Martin, a Missouri conservative. Another official, Ed Failor Jr., is a former McCain aide in Iowa who left after the campaign's shakeup last summer.
The substance of the ad matches a recent upswing in the McCain campaign's references to Ayers. The use of 9/11 imagery links Ayers, and Obama, to the American conflict Islamic terror, which is the subject of many viral e-mails attacking Obama.

The Ad above is running in VA and it is pissing Obama's team off big time. They just sent out an email about it. Let's keep this ad running through the Democrat convention. The truth hurts and with Obama it is something that he can not stand. This Ayers ad is very effective.

I do have to admit curiousity about what happens if Hillary completely torpedoes Obama now that he has chosen a VP. Does Biden just step up to the plate and become the Presidential nominee or can Hillary pull an Ayer's moment and firebomb the election?

I’m sure it will sway many of the mainstream, gun-toting, Union members. Not so sure about the far left liberals. Many of them are probably proud of the Resistance to the government during the sixties and the changes that they brought about, such as getting us out of Vietnam. (Nevermind the aftermath). I know when I was a kid that is how I felt. (And I take the “If you’re not a Liberal at 17 you don’t have a heart - and a Conservative by 35 you don’t have a brain” excuse!) (Although it was only about the age of 20 for me!)
Or what about the lawsuit about his place of birth? Could he be ousted over that, then Biden moves up and Nancy becomes the VP candidate? Just out of curiousity - do Biden and Obama have to resign from the Senate as a result of their running for office now or are they just on (taxpayer) paid leave?
They should run them in PA, too, outside of the big cities.
Take away PA and Ohio and it’s sayonara Obama.
They should have waited to start these ads until after the DimWit convention. Otherwise, Hillary may use this as another reason why the Dim party cannot win with Obammy and should throw him under the bus and nominate Her Thighness.

If Obama is forced to withdraw from the race, the Democrat National Committee would meet and select a candidate-not necessarily Biden. In 1972 Eagleton withdrew from the McGovern-Eagleton ticket and the DNC nomination Shriver.
