Michelle, Anti-American Radicals, and U of C
National Review Online ^ | 8-22-2008 | Stanley Kurtz

Up to now, I haven’t had anything to say about Michelle Obama. However, the Washington Post today has published a long story that has a great deal to say about Michelle Obama’s work at the University of Chicago. The Post story concentrates on Michelle’s involvement in a program to bring medical care to poor South Side Chicago residents. Yet there is a great deal about Michelle Obama’s work at the University of Chicago that goes uncovered here. In particular, the Post has almost nothing to say about Michelle’s five year stint as "founding director" of the university’s community service center. As long as the Post has opened the issue of Michelle’s work for the University of Chicago, I think it’s only fair to say that Michelle’s service there, and particularly her first job, deserves greater scrutiny.

The Hyde Park Herald first reported that Michelle Obama would be hired for a newly created community relations position at the University of Chicago on June 5 of 1996. Obama was to be Associate Dean of Student Services and Director of the University of Chicago Community Service Center, effective September 1, 1996. So Michelle Obama was appointed to a job that had never existed before, shortly after Barack Obama had won the Democratic nomination in his first race for Illinois State Senate. In Hyde Park and the South Side of Chicago, the Democratic nomination is tantamount to election.

Neither one of these people apparently has ever held a real job requiring real work. Yet others have constantly promoted them. Voters are going to want to know why, and who was doing the promoting.

I’d feel much better about exposing Obama until after he has been formally nominated. I’m not counting Hillary out just yet.

I think this article needs to concentrate a little more on the anti-American philosophy and activities of the groups it says were the target of Michelle’s recruiting efforts.

They're in the ‘civil rights’ industry. It IS an industry in this country, you should know that by now.

I'd like to know the billions of dollars that are siphoned off our economy to support these ersatz occupations.

Not only is this the definition of a fast-tracker (in any business, at any level), it is also the motivation of the fast-tracker. Get out of the way before the sh*t hits the fan, because you don’t want any of that sh*t on your nice shiny new suit.

What the Obamas haven’t figured out yet is that there isn’t any promotion that will get him out of the Presidency fast enough to avoid getting splattered. (I figure that’s why in the WSJ, his economic advisers wrote that the tax increases won’t go into effect until 2019)
There’s a pattern here.

Hmm. That’s the Chicago way. Public money spent to organize voters and ward heelers to work for your political party.

Enough to make the Mob proud, as well as Saul Alinsky.

Excellent article.

Too bad 47% of Americans are incapable of understanding the harm these two could do to this nation in four short years. As a matter of fact, it is probably impossible to undo the harm already done by the Congressional Democrat majority.

Here’s a link to the Gamaliel Foundation’s vision.

It uses religion as a front to advance radical left wing agenda. Latest concept: Sacred Community

At a UofC graduation I attended, the dean railed against the hysteria at Harvard after his Harvard counterpart mentioned that men might be better at physics.

Reason still comes first at UofC. It was that way in every class I took.
